Is Guitarchat.co.uk off-line..?
Woodinblack replied to Dad3353's question in Site Issues and Questions
Hmm.. Yes, seems unresponsive - it was up yesterday as I went to it during the day. Will check -
Yes, Moderator. You arent missing anything

Well, I will give it a try for a bit, and if it lets me down try something else. I do have my original stereo IEM tbone thing, if I can find the rx unit. However, i figure there has to be something between the £30 of the MS1 and the £450 of the MiPro!

I joined a new 'second' band last month, and at a practice with them they have an XR18 and each have a P16-M, and it is genuinely amazing - I have been playing with a mono IEM for many years now, but after that one practice, I don't want to do that any more! Luckily for me, I don't have to as the singer and guitarist don't have IEMs, they don't like them, so it is me and the drummer, so no problem getting stereo apart from the wireless. I use an XVIve iem, which I am happy with, but la while back I bought a really cheap lekato MS-1 that was just over £30. I assumed it would be poor, and because I got something else at the same time, I never got round to trying it. I tried it last night, and it really worked well. So I have a gig on Sunday and I am going to use it there.

It did, and by listening to an album from limewire or wherever you were probably more likely to buy the real thing from those artists so it made more money for the artists, not just the industry. Generative AI has the opposite effect, if it is generating the music itself, it will still make money for the industry, but less oportunity for artists.

Actually in that photo the headstock was just behind the drummers head. He was known to be deeply embarrassed about his headstock, so he always hid it.

Well, no drawbacks really, other than the way the system works. The main out is just another bus really, and if it is not used for anything else you can use it for that.

Not that it matters 3 months later, but yes!

Flightcase/cable trunk - relining.

Interested in that too as I am thinking of making a case for my superlong sei -
And by the same token, having the knowledge of where they should be it is quite simple to recreate them in the right place, and as the art of doing so takes a £60 body to a £3000 body, quite an incentive to do so. Specially with the raretly of pre-cbs fenders, I am sure by now we are down to only about 3 times what they made!

They vary, often stickier vinyl, or the same as the front - some are grippier. I have another two that aren't shown in that picture, one is pretty sticky

Why can't you?

I am correct in assuming that is a euphemism right?

There was a certain level of familiarity!

Is that one of those 3" Couch straps?

Struggling with sound engineering guitarist

Yes, but it is me! Didn't formerly work for metallica did he? Well, your option is to walk if you can't persuade him to change, telling him it doesn't seem like it is worth being there when you are turned down. Alternataively when he turns you down, stop playing and see if anyone notices. -
Its an evox 8, the original wooden one.

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
Woodinblack replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
Yep, it would be for me too, but there are plenty of other great party songs to do. -

While I agree with the oasis comments, I also have the same issues getting upbeat songs in, or at the moment, any songs! It seems to take forever, I am not sure why most songs cant be done in a week, or maybe two if it is a really tricky one. -
A decent hifi with very small speakers! Thats impressive, I took a Phil Jones bass BG75 and you really couldn't hear it above the drums, it was pretty well useless for that. I am guessing in a cafe with a cajon it would be fine so that people could sit at their tables and still talk to each other. I would say however, when I am practicing I tend to just use a bam 200 into a 10" gnome speaker, which is about 100W - flat out but it does punch through fine. I use the same live, but most of the bass is in the PA, and speaker is just for the rest of the band who don't wear IEMs to hear.
-
I hadn't seen that one. I have a positive grid spark that I just have next to my chair for playing around with - obviously not great on bass but good enough for my living room. I know some people on here had problems with the spark cab and ended up sending that one back, so it would be interesting to see how that one pans out Hmm.. I would call it a bold move calling 150w amp with 2 6.5" speakers a PA, but still interesting.

Will Basschat survive the Online Safety Act?
Woodinblack replied to fretmeister's topic in General Discussion
From what I see the age requirements are only to avoid seeing age appropriate things in your 'feed' and checks to ensure no access to adult only content. Basschat has no algorithms to give you any 'feed' - that is obviously based on facebook / twitter style feeds, and we have never had adult only sections, apart from maybe the sections on P basses in sunburst and tort that you have to be at least 70 to have an interest in -
