  1. Tape??? Was a waxed cylinder not good enough for you or something?
  2. When I learned it I just used the Cover solutions video
  3. Quite a lot of power, or one screwdriver
  4. When I was young, they were the only type available!
  5. Basically they are running out of 60s basses so trying to ramp up the prices of 70s ones.
  6. It is a lot cheaper over here, and there are a lot fewer 'Selling my dads fender base its about 100 years old and I think it was the original one, plees ignore the encore badge'
  7. A speaker doesn't care about stuff like resistance matches, or have any knowledge of it. It is basically down to the power. If you have put more power into the system than it can handle you can obviously destroy it (or even less power but the wrong signal), but it doesn't matter from a speakers point of view if you mix a 4 ohm speaker with a 16 ohm speaker, as long as you are aware that most of the power goes mostly through the 4 ohm speakers. Matching only matters to an amplifier, and generally only a valve amp But as others said - have a look at the cones, if one has a big hole in it, that will be the badger!
  8. And is also his sister-in-law
  9. Edit your first post of your thread (which edits the title) and add the word SOLD to the end of the post, the system will automatically lock it (case isnt important)
  10. I have also had to return with eBay and if you can manage to get through to a person they are good to deal with.
  11. The euro 5 rst (which I have) sounds very good but nothing like the Non RST euro I have with EMGs, sound much closer to my Ibanez premiums
  12. the g&l is active in the true sense of the word. There is nothing that says an active preamp needs any tone controls, it is just a feature of them most has as it is convenient. Mr Fender understood this more than most, which is why the tone controls are passive on the L series
  13. I spent years waiting for an ibanez Artcore 5 string semi hollow to appear, everything turns up eventually
  14. I had a look and you can get those thing, but yes, they are pretty thick, I would just use the volume and replace the blend on its own if you need that.
  15. There were a few people on forums I had seen that said they had contacted samsung, although no replies about any outcome.
  16. No you could do that if you had enough poles in the push pull, I did the same thing with a fender S1 switch (in fact, fender do the same with a S1 switch), so as long as you dont' expect the blend knob to do anything in series, then it would work fine.
  17. Yep, found a report on the invision forum about it happening to people with Samsung Galaxy phones on invision forums - no obviously fix so far apart from people say turning off Power Saver mode or battery optimisation stops it happening.
  18. No, not the switch with blend, I mean the concept of blend with series. With parallel you are taking the output of both pickups and blending between them, effectively blending between two pickups. With series the output of one goes into the base of the other - so the output of the second is the sum of both, making effectively one big pickup, so there is nothing to blend with, and even if you did the output of one will be twice the output of the other so it wouldn't work, it would be the same as blending with a coil tap
  19. No problems with it being active and yes, the series parallel would work, but you then can't blend if you are in series, or at least you could but it wouldn't work well
  20. Does that only happen here? I haven't heard anything like that happening (and never seen it myself), except when my keyboard thinks it should be connected to my other computer.
  21. If I could get a partial refund I would be happy to just take some black paint to it.
  22. No, the mute button is there for that
  23. Maybe a ferite bead or something - but it seems more like maybe it is the output of the desk that has the hum (or it is a capacitance issue). If not, maybe a bigger lead. As to directional, the aerial in the U4 is a little bit of bent wire. Actually...
