  1. Not last night, but last week, I just hadn't got round to saying about it! Last week was another double gig week. Did an hour at Festival on the Hill in Honiton, quite a large well done stage, with stalls, games and camping etc - it was very hot (luckily not like this week though) There was a PA outage during one song where they had to reboot their rig aparently but not much of an issue. Seemed a bit remote and although was good to do, I think it is hard for the singer to be away from the people that much! Also with the heat, a few songs sort of lacked a bit of life. The Spector sounded ok on stage though with the BC cab and the ABM600. Then a drive from there, where the drummer almost totalled himself by failing to notice a crossroads, luckily empty, to a local working mens club for a normal 2.5-3 hour set. I picked up the PA and was frankly knackered by the time I got there. I was wandering around in a bit of a daze wondering what to connect and do next. It was the first time we were using the Evox 8, so we had an unbalanced PA, but didn't really have time to sort it out. By the time we were done it was 5 to 9, almost ready to go so we went out the front, sounded good but too loud, turned it down a bit and off we went., For the first 3 or 4 songs (admittadly bluesy old ones) I was feeling like falling asleep but once the more upbeat songs started I got into it, but it was hot. about 8 songs in I realised that my amp was quite a way down and as I had used the PA at a practice, the bass was mostly going through the PA, which is not something I do. Turned it down a bit but didn't seem so good so put it back up. After the half way I got a new lease of life and finished at about ¼ to 12.
  2. Yeh, I have a paulownia P bass body in the shed, it dents if you stare at it hard, its an odd wood to work!
  3. I put fender flats on mine, they seem pretty good for flats, although still not a convert. Seem better on the mustang than a full scale bass
  4. He (CB) has a couple of lessons on scotts bass lessons which are well worth looking at on creative tapping.
  5. I use mine, but I am sure it is easy enough to adjust to not using it, I am always spraining it when playing, especially if you don't have it. I think I probably only use 3 fingers anyway.
  6. Honestly, its worth keeping just for a line like that
  7. This person appreciates the MASSIVE cost difference that stereo IEMs provide!
  8. Mine is a bit wider (and flatter) than that, but works fine for a normal (3hr) set in a pub.
  9. Mine is older - right on the brexit vote (second half cost £100 more than the first half!), and I ordered directly with him, ie, this was even before the configurator. I wrote and said I want this, like this, in this colour, with a neck that has these dimensions, and he replied do you want these / these and those on it, and we ended up at a spec, and that is what I got. You can still do it like that, the long winded way, or you can do the bass direct. Whether you want to go with bass direct depends on a couple of things. if something that is what you want is there, its a no brainer, although I am not a great fan of bass direct, they are a hell of a lot easier to deal with than Mr Maruszcyk himself if there is an issue, which there normally isn't. But if there was it can be a bit of a pain. However, if they don't do what you want (and I would have never got mine off the shelf), then you don't have a choice!
  10. He does put on a visual performance though - more people see him than ever saw Liszt, his channel is basically visual.
  11. On the EHB1505 (which is what i have), the strings can go to the outside of their range which is 1mm either way, giving 2mm overall and 18.5mm on all strings while staying in range of the neck and the pickups.
  12. He was at one point, at the moment he is touring as a solo musician to promote his album
  13. Remember that the Ibanez has adjustable string spacing by 1/2mm either way, so you can get it to 18.5mm - I have mine on 17.5mm (actually slightly wider on the big strings and narrower on the small ones)
  14. Indeed they don't - I had to wear earplugs at a gig this weekend and I hated it, not something I would want to make a habit of.
  15. Not sure I knew there are experts on string spacing, but what do they say the string spacing is please?
  16. Yeh but can he play mustang sal.. oh never mind
  17. It's one of my favourites (although it needs resetting up at the moment), and I am not really bothered about the stranglers either way, although I have seen them a couple of times.
  18. Odd with the mustang - they seem to vary a lot with models, they were traditionally 17.5mm, so the Classic Vibe mustang I have is the same as that, and the MiM 'vintage' is 18.5mm (ish) Obviously your Maruszczyk is whatever you specified, mine is 16.5mm!
  19. The J8 is the current version, the 8 is the old version, they were superseded some time back, and at the same time the prices went down. This made people think the old one was better, it is in some ways, not in others. I mentioned that a few posts up!
  20. Like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/401977270299 in which case they say they have a channel button. I thinnk you would have to set up each time you wanted to connect to a different transmitter though
