People have different approaches to bands, some people very professional, some people casual and it causes a lot of friction when people have a different approach to them. The goal is to find as many people who are as close to your idea of how to do things as possible for a long lived band. It isn't a question that you are right and they are wrong, it just that the approached don't work well together.

EuroVision Song Contest in the UK for 2023..?
Woodinblack replied to Dad3353's topic in General Discussion
Thats where I am. I occasionally watch the end episode which is generally the most interesting thing on TV that day, but generally speaking don't pay much attention, but I know people who love it and travel round the world to go to it who are going to be thrilled that it is in the UK, wherever it is, so I can only see it as a good thing. The way the country and government are going, we are sure going to need something positive next year, so bring it on! -

EuroVision Song Contest in the UK for 2023..?
Woodinblack replied to Dad3353's topic in General Discussion
I suspect its the opposite of the olympics, it costs far less to host but the money brings tourism and investment, then can still use the hall for things afterwards. I think the olympics is just a fortune to host then you find you have no use for any of the stadiums or halls you made, and have to think of some use for them. And at least unlike the olympics it doesn't go on for ever -
I assume he just bought it because he liked it - if he was endorsing he wouldn't have a 2 generation back rack mount amp.

I would say an Ashdown ABM 500 RC Evo II 575W Chrome Face. Like this:

EuroVision Song Contest in the UK for 2023..?
Woodinblack replied to Dad3353's topic in General Discussion
Well, the winning city gets a couple of thousand extra quite well off tourists visiting, so it really does matter to them. -
Yep. Well, that is if that is what you want - there are a lot of diagrams depending on what you want. Obviously if you want volume / blend / tone you would do it a different way, or volume / volume tone etc. Yes but from EMGs point of view, they pennies at most, so it is just easier to put them all in.

EMG have a lot of documents on wiring whatever you want however you want, they are one of the better manufacturers for it How about this? https://www.emgpickups.com/pub/media/Mageants/t/b/tbhz_b245_0230-0211c.pdf

Shaller tuners - is this normal?
Woodinblack replied to Woodinblack's topic in Repairs and Technical
This morning I got a bag from Shaller with 6 replacement tuner head parts, so I have a few spares when they break! Also some plectrums. Unfortunately the first one actually damaged its tthread (Although that was replaced by Jon Shuker, so no prob) but I have the parts of the current one, so should be able to put that back on -
Well, that was interesting, in that my judgement was way off. So this is a local pub to me, I mean, it takes 10 minutes to walk to it, its not a pub I have ever been in, but it is the local of our drummer (who lives just under a minute from it) who even knowing the bar staff never managed to get us a gig in there, despite trying. To be fair, we got offered a gig and then we had the lockdown. So we get a gig in a very random way. Somehow it seems more of a pain loading up the car and driving such a short distance the track playing when the car starts hasn't finished yet. Unload, actually loads of space which is nice. Setting up, I find that I have failed to pack my IEM, but that is probably ok as I have also failed to pack my headphones. Take my iPad out which I had charged to 100% the day before, and I guess fiddling around with the synths on it, it is now on 28%. OK, I have a charging power block - ok that is dead too. I do have a lead and a usb charger, so that saves the day. Testing it all out with my newly rebuilt pedalboard, everything good. Try the synth patch that I made to replace the one I had that sounded terrible when testing it, it sounds awful - go back to the original, ok, that sounds fine. Sound check, everything good. Time to start the gig, plug in, massive buzzing - try everything, it is the wireless so quickly throw my spare lead in there. The omens are really pointing to a terrible gig, but there is quite a crowd. Then we are off - first two songs worrying as I can't hear my bass, it sounds wierd out of IEMs, can't hear the guitar. On the third song switch the connect the back beat up, ok, now can hear/feel the bass. So hot. Did the first half, the crowd are many, varied and dancing and singing along, all seem to be enjoying it. Half time told the vocals were quiet so turned them up. Second half, same thing, everyone happy. After that was told the vocals were much better, the sound was good. The drummers mum, who is at pretty well all our gigs and always says how the bass is too loud or the sound is wrong, or something else is wrong tells me that it was the best sound ever. We get loads of people telling us they loved it, one guy saying we are one of the best ever to be in there, and it turned out he was friends with the owner, and a good night was had by all. Packed up, home in 3 minutes (although no cash as it is one of those online payments, which is rare for us). I think we will probably go back there. Downside of no IEM though is fingers hurt like mad, throat hurts - not hearing yourself is a bit damaging! Today, I think it is a quiet day, feel like I have been in a boxing match!

Obviously I have no idea what you want to do, so there isn't an 'of course' here. Looking at the switching of the droc, yes, it seems pretty simple that if you put a switch where the middle pickup connects to earth you get what you want, except when it is off, it would mean 1 & 2 would be the same, 3 would be nothing at all (no pickup) and 4 would be the two outside pickups. When it was on it would be the same as it is now.

"Everything you need to have your only unique custom bass guitar" they are not wrong.

You could, you could put it on a pull switch or something if you didn't want to drill holes

The 'Youngster' gig scene in your area
Woodinblack replied to odysseus's topic in General Discussion
There are a fair few in this area, although not as much of a spread of genres. There are fewer venues than there were pre-pandemic though. -
Shaller tuners - is this normal?

Thanks, yes, I emailed them and had a reply from him quite quickly. I just filled out the form on their shop page so I wasn't really expecting such a prompt and high up reply! -
How to save a search and get notifications of new results

There isn't an option for this at the moment. Would be nice, but not there. -
If you have a bass and drums, all you need is the novelty acts to top it off!

Small Video Camera to clip on to my bass headstock.

In a way handy I guess, I wouldn't mind the new 4K one, but don't really have a justification at present! -

ok, so your external battery pack was getting more and more worn down - that would happen. Strange your batteries didn't last - I only just recently got the external battery pack (probably why my charge port hasn't died) as I always just used to take 4 rechargeables, 2 for the first 1'30 set, then change the batteries at half time, whole gig recorded. I decided this year it was a pain to change half way, so I got an external pack. All in all I love the zoom Q2n, it has been no trouble at all and I have used it in a lot of gigs. In fact all my zoom stuff, I have recorded every practice and gig with my H2n -

Maybe, or you were unlucky. I am not sure how 'the batteries started not lasting long' works - as the batteries are changeable, how can the amount of time they last change, unless you were always using the same rechargeable batteries (and they do lose power after a number of recharges). Not sure if you mean that your Q2n started taking more power, seems unlikely it could do that. Obviously mine lasts as long on a fresh set of batteries today as it did when I bought it in december 2016. Not surprised about the charging port - microusbs are a horrible way of charging anything and they all break in the end -

Mine is still going strong after many years. The batteries last long enough for half a gig (so if I change them at half time its fine) or the whole gig with the external battery pack. Never had any problems with it. -
I did a guitar probably worse than that! I think the issue here is mistaking something now which is a holy relic, ie a 68 jazz bass with 'someones bass'. Lots of basses got modified, they are more functional things than collectables back then.
