  1. There wouldn't be an increase as they have more costs but have more sales. If anything, there would be a reduction based on shared useage and higher discounts on materials.
  2. People are the same in all walks of life, because people are people. Some people have a large amount of their self image tied to brands or objects. And I guess at some level, it isn't a binary, we are probably all guilty of it to some extent, but in some it really is excessive. The further up the chain you go, the more excessive it gets. I mean if everyone is playing squiers, who cares if you come in with a squier. Unless of course you come in with a Kay - screw that guy
  3. Thats odd, I don't see anything in the logs, I like those things that go away before I get a chance to see them!
  4. Yes, the spector is active into active. The benifits are that you get the sound of the pickups you like with the sound of the pre-amp you like, no more than that. It has to be said that although the spector is new, the amount it cuts through, especially on the high end is quite striking. I don't know what this benefit is down to, but it is certainly noticeable.
  5. I don't tinker with the iPad for lyrics, I have a bluetooth footpedal. Generally I don't tend to use it much for lyrics, it does the sound. it used to do all the sound, but now I also use an X-Touch controller, so just for the initial setup, and it also runs a synth for footpedals.
  6. Where would be their motivation to produce more instruments for less money? That really doesn't seem like a wise move. There are a lot of British luthiers out there making cheaper basses faster, go for one of those.
  7. I use a smooth hound normally, but it seems to have gone missing, so I am using my cheap chinese 5GHz dongles at the moment. They fit but awkwardly, although it isn't an issue for me as I run a short cable from the bass to the backbeat which has the wireless on it. Before the backbeat I ran a short cable to an adapter which my wireless plugged into. I don't really like having them hanging out of the bass..
  8. don't think that they have made an iPad app that could take as much time as our guitarist tuning between every song. Not like it is ever in tune anyway. I don't understand how anyone can take so long!
  9. Its still due in the next few weeks according to all the emails since January!
  10. I don't know what happened as I haven't seen any of that stuff, but I know some quite big name artist have a big screen just on the floor below them. I remember watching Dolly Parton at glastonbury and as the screen panned round her lyrics were there. If it was good enough for dolly its good enough for me.
  11. I guess management books aren't very self aware Why? I wouldn't dream of gigging without an iPad,. I have a microphone stand there anyway, so it doesn't make any difference.
  12. I prefer a neck through or set neck, but honestly it is not something that would make much of a pull either way. So for a given bass available as a neck through and a bolt on, I would go for the former, but that is not something that generally happens.
  13. If you can get a VR09 for £300, jump on it, I have wanted one for years. Its organs are brilliant and the others are also pretty useable.
  14. Oh I didn't realise he was on the Isle of White, in which case he is probably the local english language expert i
  15. Needs the money to buy some punctuation?
  16. Maybe it is worth giving it a bit of a skip for a while to relieve the pressure, bring it back once it has lost a bit of significance?
  17. So what you are saying is it could be likely as the Guns part was related to someone who wasn't in the band when they made it big, like if axl had been replaced by someone good?
  18. They would have been guns and roses with someone else, as you would have never known them any different. Maybe they would be better, I doubt they would be worse and maybe they would have got nowhere, but they would have been guns and roses. Same here, best thing for me that ever happened to genesis was PG leaving, I think they were both better afterwards.
  19. If those people had fronted Guns and Roses, yes, that would have been bad. But they were fine in their own bands. I mean, I am not a fan of the pogues or PiL, but all of those they matched the singer with the band. Guns and roses didn't.
  20. That was always far better, see what you could do with a good singer!
  21. For me the worst offender is the intro to the album, welcome to the jungle, it really builds up like it is going to be a flat out rock tune, then it takes a pause, and then what sounds like a character from the simpsons starts singing, and brings the energy of the track right down.
  22. phi's voice is like nails on a blackboard, so whiney. I have seen them twice as friends like them, obviously he/they are way worse in real life but even on the record without him they could have sounded great
