  1. I am not sure why it is an issue - if you have £12k for a wal, buy it, you aren't hurting anyone, you aren't forcing other people to pay more for something. It is a crazy price to pay for something like that, but so are vintage fenders etc, all the time people buy them they will go up.
  2. What year is it?
  3. No, nothing I am aware of, unless the messages were sent by someone who was then subsequently blocked for sending spam - i havne't looked to see if that was the case.
  4. Its £50 and just made for a jazz bass, so if you have a jazz bass, its not hugely off a set of strings to give it a try and see how it goes. Yes, there are flaws in the concepts, and I haven't got a jazz bass so I can't try it, but for what it is, if I did have a jazz bass, I would probably give it a try.
  5. I have gigged several times on a bass with a ramp. Presumably many other people who have ramps have too.
  6. It doesn't contain egg, it is certified vegan (both the sausage and the pastry). There is quite a lot of vegan stuff at greggs, although it is still greggs!
  7. my 2000 green euro has gold hardware but black knobs,
  8. Probably not as the manufacturers would assume with your massive ape hands that need such wide spacing, weight wouldn't be an issue <runs>
  9. because the normal sausage roll tastes so unlike an actual sausage roll, the vegan one tastes just the same!
  10. Not really the nut is built in to the plastic, so it raises the whole lot, so probably not much to do.
  11. Oh I see it goes over the nut too. Only problem I see is that there is just one bass size, and no indications of what bass it is for? Oh read the FAQ, it is just for a jazz bass
  12. Clever idea, although it would have to be very thin over the frets to actually work on a well set up bass. Certainly would give it a try if I came across one. Not sure why there would be an intonation problem though, unless you had terrible action.
  13. Nah - 100 miles in the uk is like 500 miles in the states!
  14. He really didn't - he died at 21, and he didn't really make a living out of playing the bass, he really earned it out of looking the part, so more being a fashion model than anything else.
  15. Doesn't really matter - if you put a pot over the input voltage with the centre of that pot going the C1/R2 junction (and the pot wound closer to the 0 to start), changing the position of the pot (ie, increasing the voltage) should change the output on TP1, which is connected to the drain of the fet - if it doesn't, the fet is no longer a fet. Actual values of the voltage don't really matter unless you are working out if the gain is what you expect, but currently you are just trying to see if it works.
  16. I think sometimes your own personal impression of your behaviour can be very different from what other people see!
  17. Should be easy enough to check. If you don't have an oscilliscope, then just check the voltage at TP1 while putting a voltage on R2.
  18. I think it is sensible to generalise. I mean, I doubt anyone is going to disagree that the UK would be just that bit better if Kent was sawn off and allowed to sink or drift in the sea.
  19. thats more about Portsmouth than Newcastle - I never regretted moving either
  20. They still come with EHBs as add ons, and many basses have them, I guess people got bored talking about them and those who want them have them!
  21. According to the reviews, they do not have enough fenderov sound on them. Which is obviously not good.
  22. Can change it for you, send me a message saying what you want
  23. If you are unable to post anything that isn't unlawful, illegal, threatening, abusive, or designed to offend them yes, probably best you post nothing! I don't think you are offending anyone, although maybe you showing people that you are having a bit of a slow day
  24. I must admit in all my years of working both as hobby electronics and later as an electronic engineer (which I guess counts for about 20+), I have been liucky enough to never has found a resistor with the wrong values on it. Some are harder to see than others, but never wrong. Capacitors on the other hand...
  25. None of the stuff I loved do I actually now hate, there are some I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to, but nothing that if it came on I would rush to turn off. There are things I didn't like, such as steely dan and jamiroqui that I really didn't like but now do (I still am not a fan of JK himself, but the music is ok!). I did hate the jam and groups a bit like that as they were music that were played non stop by the people at school I didn't like, but ended up playing a lot of their stuff.
