  1. But if you did that, you would end up with pages and pages of people ranting about TC Electronics lying about their power output Oh never mind, deja vu!
  2. Are you sure you did it and that it wasn't there to start wtih? I mean, most of my basses have dents somewhere, but I remember doing each one, its not really something you can do without noticing.
  3. Indeed, but in this case it is something designed to replicate a 50s P Bass. That is what they sell them as. There are a lot of P bass types around. If it is a copy of a 50s P bass why would it say anywhere it was a copy of a p bass, because then by default it wouldn't be a copy of a 50s P bass any more as the 50s P bass also didn't say it was a 50s P bass! Its fair enough that you didn't want that, but I can assure you that if fender made a 50s P bass and there was some aspect wrong (even if it was an improvement), there would be a wall of people wailing about what idiots they were for producing an inaccurate replica. Ultimately people aren't looking for improvements, for a lot of people, if it wasn't there 70s years ago there is no reason for it to exist, and that is the market that fender is in. If these technical improvements really matter to you, check it has it when you buy them, its not like it is hidden! Fender are not a company to make technical improvements.
  4. You should assume that Ibanez will discontinue everything, as they do quite often. However, they normally have something the same but different available when they do.
  5. All my basses get a dent in the headstock. I guess it is just low ceilings. Dent in the neck is more dissapointing, I did that to my EHB, it was next to a cupboard that a metal hard disk fell out of.
  6. I fail to get the idea that someone would buy something called a 50s precision bass and then complain that it had a feature that was present on a 50s precision bass. I know several people who would be absolutely mortified if fender made a model claiming to be based on another model and a screw was even a mm out of place. I guess they are damned if they do and damned if they don't!
  7. Yes, it needs throwing away. Obviously some kind of breakdown in the cable, no point having something like that around (probably keep the plugs and ditch the lead).
  8. He retired it from him doing it with pink floyd. What Manson decides to do in another group is none of his business really.
  9. Probably the same person who thought you would never have to adjust a truss rod and it wasn't a user changeable item. And if it was based on the 50s design, the first telecasters (or broadcasters) didn't have truss rods at all, so they weren't a user item
  10. Yes, I spent the whole gig playing with the graphic on the front of my ABM600, although it had the same settings as on my last gig, when I played the Spector with the D'addarios on. I tried the bass before I went out (always try before I go out) - I didn't take that bass to the gig last fortnight as I had just change the strings, but I had played it in more since then and it seemed ok. I have the longevos on my ibanez SR1605 and it sounds fine, but it just doesn't seem to work on the Maruszczyk, which previously had Black strings (sounded great, looked great, ripped the hell out of my fingers), and before that d'addarios, like my other basses.
  11. we knew the score for us. They wanted us on at 8:30, play until about 10 to 10 when they did the walkthrough or whatever it is, and then if it finished before 11 go back on until quarter past. so we played until 10 to 10 finished with Saturday nights alright for fighting, went down well, the sat around until one of the guys fell over, then came back in with I get knocked down. All seemed to go well. but I had a terrible tone which I couldn’t correct in my first half, I just took one bass, unusually, and It had no definition or treble. The only thing I can think is I changed the strings a few weeks ago for longevo and lowered the action, maybe that? asside from that and the short times, it was good, and pay was fine!
  12. Nice, in "Something that isn't tort" !
  13. I am not sure there is no. And a Les Paul with P90 pickups looks pretty good, but they are the same size as the humbuckers.
  14. Which is the same as here no? No, I mean that an argument about his post would be different because people would be attacking a member of their forum
  15. I am not surprised, but also it is a bit different there as he is a member of TalkBass
  16. Yeh, well you expect the sound to mellow when your tattoos fade. Luckily I have some tattoos done by Dan Gold with his own ink at the time on my chest which are almost as bright as 10 years ago when they were done, so it keeps a nice bright top end!
  17. You cant update the price in the add, it is customary to change the title to something like: Spector Euro Bolt 4 - Blue Metallic - absolutely immaculate - Price drop £950
  18. Although I am not in the market for one of these as I need to be reducing numbers, not increasing. It is a bit of a shame that the P pickup white bass has to be lumbered with a tort pickguard when the JJ one gets a nice white one. I suppose it isn't much in the scheme of things to get another one but still!
