  1. I would fix it myself, although I it would probably be worth contacting the company and seeing what they said, maybe they will provide a discount to not send it back which would cover getting a new socket.
  2. Frankly, unless you are at an audition, if your goal is to impress people on a bass, you have picked the wrong instrument!
  3. Honestly never noticed a correlation between 'busyness' and confidence, I think it is more down to style. You get guys like Geddy Lee, John Entwhistle and Chris Squire who you could class as 'busy', I don't know Geddy Lee and John Entwhistle but can certainly say first hand Chris Squire was not someone obviously lacking confidence! I also don't think it is the bass either, pretty well all basses can make all sounds if you try hard enough. Jamersons P bass had next to no definition but he wasn't a root and fifths sort of guy I think it is just a style and how you want to play. If you want to do a few notes and just beef up the bottom end, fine, do that. If you want to do the solos, fine do that, but I think that reading a reason other than your style into it is probably wrong. In your case, maybe you are playing more notes because of a lack of confidence, only you know that, but you can't assume that is true for all. For me, if bass was about playing root and fifths or just filling in the low end, I don't think I would bother.
  4. Normally I would put most of the replacing electronics as a bit snake oilish from a sound point of view, but in this case, maybe not, certainly not from a piece of mind. I replaced the pot with an alpha pot, bit of a contrast. This was the wiring straight out of the bass when I took it out to see why the tone had stopped working And the alpha pot by comparison Certainly can see where they didn't spend the money! True thats a point. For me a bridge works or it doesn't. I can appreciate the quality of a well made bridge but it is pretty rare I have heard a difference between one bridge and another unless the first was broken. And never on a bass. There is always Newtone
  5. Yes, to remove a picture, taking it from a post does nothing, it is still in your profile, just not shown in the post any more. Under your username, go to "My Attachment", select teh files you want to get rid of with the checkbox at the end, and select 'delete' from the top
  6. Maybe. There isn't any shielding and the electronics are very poor - my tone control stopped working so I went to look and the wire had fallen off. But I never noticed any shielding other than the cover is metal. I haven't replaced any of the hardware, it all seems to do the job fine. If it had lighter machineheads it would probably be good, but there isn't anything functionally wrong with them
  7. My classic wasn't very heavy at all, lighter than most of my other general basses.
  8. The bridge pickup of the TMB35 is actually pretty noisy and not great, but it balances nicely with the other pickup. I gigged it and got good comments.
  9. I had a tidal trial at one point and it was ok, but I have apple music and again for me the integration with the phones / computers / car etc is pretty important to me. Still, at least apple music aren't too far down the paying out chart (over double spotify and 2/3 of tidal).
  10. It does look wal like, with more of a cutaway and not the electronics. Although a wal without the logo on the neck would be a lot cheaper!.
  11. I would imagine they will turn up at some point - probably just haven't got round to it yet, rather than intentional
  12. OK, I missed that, I thought it was an amp for use. Obviously if you kept the old one you could swap it back.
  13. Probably a good thing for stick players to have - although I am in 10 string classic tuning so not for me. GLWS
  14. Cant you just get the uk transformer to replace the US transformer for it? they are commonly available - generally not the cheapest things, but a lot less hassle than dragging a transformer around waiting for someone to plug it in the wrong place.
  15. It doesn't really matter at the moment does it, you are trying to work out what you want. If you try stuff it gives you a better idea what you want. If that is the sort of thing you are after you are pretty well going to find it in any shop, so maybe there is something more local to you?
  16. Wunjo bass have quite a lot of 5 strings, with a lot more variation, I would be tempted to wander down to there if I lived that close.
  17. You mean the picture in reverb from the seller also in perth with the same name? Maybe a coincidence! Or do you mean the one in reverb in korea for twice as much?
  18. My BAM you can hear the fan pretty early on, although it is not loud. After an hour or so of playing at any sort of volume the fan is fairly noticable (when you stop playing - it doesn't intrude). Gets quite hot after a few hours, obviously there isn't anywhere for the heat to go. The green light is on a lot of the time, I can't recall the green light being off that much when playing. I just have it so the green light is on with the occasional off, and no solid. Although honestly, don't worry about that too much as long as it sounds ok.
  19. You should see 3 posts at the top of the basses for sale forum, regardless of your phone, they cover the rules and advice for sellers etc.
  20. According to the rules at the top of the marketplace, yes you can.
  21. Maybe thoman say that as they would have a european plug in the box so it is easier if they say there is none so that you are not expected to be able to use it out of the box. I know everything I got from thoman had an adapter on it, but I haven't ordered anything since that all changed. Also zoom have always had 9v adapters, it would be odd to change that now.
  22. I have had switching options for everything going, end up sticking with the one you like!
  23. For seymour duncan pickups the black and white are one coil and the green and red are the others. Humbucker manufacturers handily have standardised on those 4 colours. Sadly they all mean different things! So this is what they mean per manufacturer: https://www.seymourduncan.com/blog/latest-updates/humbucker-wire-color-translation Which is handy for some but honestly I would always buzz it out with a meter first.
  24. Oh didn't they briefly go down? Never mind, noone reads them anyway!
