They probably will have all the cables but never rely on other people having the things you need for your sound, have your own stuff. If you have a ¼" jack DI, get a ¼" to XLR lead anyway, just in case you need it.

They didn't increase the price after payment, they cancelled the payment saying that the goods were no longer available which is almost certainly in the T&C. Every shop will have this if they are trading as a shop as well as online, as someone could buy it on the shop at the same time as it is being sold online, and then the order would have been cancelled. In this case, the reason it isn't available is because it is available at a new price, but although that is bad, it is covered by above. Certainly wouldn't be happy and would complain about it on all review sites, but there is no legal redress to it.

Good review - yes, the finish coming off doesn't sound good. My Maruszczyk is redburst on swampash textured, and I do love that finish (not as extreme as this). I saw it in the shop in bristol or in fact my wife noticed it and liked it, which is always handy

I chose yes, because I like multiscales, although I don't have a problem with normal frets. In fact I don't have a problem until someone takes the frets away (then I have real problems). However, not because the B is better as I never bought that much into the scale improving it, just because I find it more comfortable on my wrist. I love the multiscale EHB I have, would also like the short scale version, hated the combustion (although to be fair, the neck was really nice, it was just the sound that was terrible). Wouldn't mind trying one of the spectors.

Anyone tried the pulse - I saw a red cinder pulse 5 in bristol and it looked quite good, although seemed a little expensive for what looked a bit like a legend. Still interesting though, although I assume it is 35" (I am assuming as it says different things on different sites)

It would actually add value to the buying process if you know that a fake was going to be reported fairly quickly, so you could tell what you were looking at was genuine.

I haven't had a problem with the gallery, they have been friendly enough, certainly no less friendly than BD. I didn't go in the first few times I was there as I assumed it was closed, so I have only been in a couple of times.

Genuinely I can't see it affecting the value that much, but if you were a real fan I guess maybe you would be more interested. Given that is more than the full price, you would have to be quite the fan to go for it I would have thought, although probably not one to judge as I never really understood why you would pay a lot more for something a 'celbrity' didn't want.

I was going to say that, but if I had a £ for every time I had to, I would have probably bought a few more basses! You should remember when talking of them presurising cloudflare and domain companies, that Rickenback are not a very big company at all, they are not like a big tech company at all.

Seems to me the issues I had with them are all communication based. I think it is like old guitar shops, they used to be often not great places to go because you didn't have the choice, as soon as you did a lot of them went to the wall. There arent a lot of bass shops and they carry some good stuff and a wide change so are fairly niche. If it was less of a niche it might be less viable

It was always just the SR range with the proper string spacing. The defaults in other ranges was always more (apart from customs such as the cross overs). Just the SR range became the most popular. The EHB non multiscale 4 strings are 19mm, the 5 strings are 18mm (although both have adjustment by 1/2 mm)

Lets hope they get round to it this time then! ten years ago, I suspect the risk is as low as the risk is now, but if you have every spent time talking to Mr Hall (in other than a friendly interview session), the actual risk was having to deal with one of the most unpleasant people you could ever hope to talk to. Frankly it was not worth the effort.

Indeed, as you should, which is why you shouldn't start producing and distributing rickenbacker copies yourself, however, if you sell a private instrument which you are not claiming is a rickenbacker, you are not infringing. The only problem is when it is a fake (ie, you are claiming it is a rickenback when it isn't), and how many fake fenders have probably gone through the site over the years? I think it is easier to spot a fake ric then a fake fender.

I never really had an issue with him enforcing his copyright, seems a sensible thing to do. Its just the fact he was so unnecesarily unpleasant when he contacted people and also totally incorrect in some of his assumptions.
