  1. If you read it it was mentioned that that it was actually ending earlier, or adding sections that weren't in groups of 4 bars.
  2. On the plus side it is now out in the open, he knows how you feel. And he is right, maybe you are musically compatible, he thinks music is about everyone listening to him, and you don't. So get that advert in all the jmb and bandmix sort of sites and start recruiting for another band while the iron is hot
  3. You don't need to look at a scammed page, you can actually look at their own page and see a wall of complaints
  4. Everyone knows that Leo agonised over the tonewood of the first basses he did.
  5. Yes, their return policy is great. Have you tried using it?
  6. Certainly one option. I have a few stereo to dual mono cables. one is a stereo to XLR and an XLR to two XLR, and one is a stereo to dual stereo that I got with the chapman stick, and the other stereo to dual mono I got for connecting the iPad to the PA, 5M for £12 (I already had an 1/8" stereo plug to 1/4" stereo socket lead).
  7. Love the G&L headstock, good take on the bulbous fender style.
  8. The switch should switch between stereo and mono, and if it is the first one (which it looked like) it should just have a stereo output socket, so if you have a mono plug in, switching to stereo will cut out of half of the signal. Which sounds like you are describing. So you need a stereo to dual mono cable.
  9. oh I am not sure that is true with their latest album!
  10. I am very surprised that you had so few problems before now! I find they are very good if absolutely nothing goes wrong, but if it does, then they are beyond terrible.
  11. Yeh, stuff like that on a PM is fine. Just not a sales post, especially if you don't have a subscription.
  12. Unfortunately with SB1s there wasn't really an 'era' as such, just occasionaly they decided to put a 7.5" neck on it. Which is kind of how G&L do it, which makes it hard to get them! I belive the original Sires had 7.5 but now seemed to have evolved into 9.5. So fender classic series neck on something else? Not too helpful I know, seems an uncommon requirement judging by sizes around.
  13. If it produces no stress, then probably it is not worth doing it. I have done over 150 gigs with my current band but there is still a weird stressy feeling before i head to the gig - it goes when I start to setup, I think it is anticipation / have i forgotten anything etc. Meeting up for a jam is fine if that is what you have signed up for, with my current band if we had no gig there would be no point to meet up, although the guitarist often tried to force a practice because he viewed it as him practicing, which is not what it is about. Learn the song, get good at it, then practice it with the band.
  14. What have you got against female squirrels?
  15. Yep, thats how those double posts happen, you press it, it doesn't work, you press it again, it doesn't work, you then refresh the page and it has posted twice.
  16. Cheap old stuff was terrible then compared to now. Indeed. I am always of the opinion that old instruments were very variable, but it seems they were better because the ones that weren't got smashed up or didn't survive, but the ones that were really good were hung onto. I have to say that one of the worst jazz basses I ever played was a 64 - basically firewood but I also played a 65 I would have bought had it not been silly money.
  17. Don't think it is an either / or. I have tried them (and tapewounds) many times on several basses, notably fretless but never got on with flats at all. But I got some for my mustang and there they are wonderful. Don't like them anywhere else though.
  18. On the other point, it depends what you mean by a few bars. if you mean like, one or two, that is bad, but if you mean 4/8/12 because the guitar is going on a bit, sometimes that happens, and you can tell that there is no way the guitarist is going to resolve the solo in the bar, so they are going to have to be given a bit more space. But that much should be obvious and normally best avoided
  19. Waterlooville? Perish the thought - I am from Portsmouth, why would I want to slum it over the hill??
  20. Have one of your ABY switches as it was cheaper than just getting the componants and doing it myself!
