  1. Have one of your ABY switches as it was cheaper than just getting the componants and doing it myself!
  2. 😮 I can cope ok with a lack of musical ability, but I really have problems coping with people who can't control their emotions. I know people have issues, but that is not what I am in a band for.
  3. If you are the one that gets the gig, I would say, do this gig as it is reasonably soon, then if it doesn't go well, or you have more tantrums, get on bandmix or join my band or something, wade through the hassle there and get a band together. There is no point if you want to gig being in a band with people who don't want to gig, there will always be a reason. My current band I joined 6 years ago, and we had our first gig a week after I joined. It was a hectic week. The guitarist left at the last gig on saturday and we have new guitarists getting ready. My other band we started 3 years ago, in that time it changed lineup so I was the only pre-existing member in it, we had done two gigs, and had a load of drama. Some bands you have to know are not going to be doing anything, if I had the sense I would realise that that band was never going to work. There are worse bands to be in than no band, as at least in no band you have a hope of joining one!
  4. Did you press submit twice because the first time it didn't seem to work? that is how it is has happened for me.
  5. No problem, ignore it and then panic the day before, that always works!
  6. Its genuinely hard enough when you are a cover band with a large reportoir playing for 2 or 3 hours to get everything perfect, but if someone is deliberately going to mess things up then it probably isn't going to work. Also bear in mind if he can't cope with musical input from you, what is he going to do with the musical input of a crowd? They will happily tell him to turn it down / up / play ac/dc etc.
  7. this any good? https://www.songsterr.com/a/wsa/suzanne-vega-blood-makes-noise-bass-tab-s21899
  8. I am guessing by the question that the Squier Classic Vibe Late 50s Precision bass isn't right for some reason? I see that the nut is 1mm narrower than you want, oh yes, the radius is also wider. https://www.peachguitars.com/squier-fsr-classic-vibe-late-50s-p-bass-2-tone-sunburst.htm Other than that, fender classic series, but probably out of your budget and harder to find. Older G&L SB1s have it, Older sires have a 7.5" radius too.
  9. Well, it says 'all original hardware', so I guessing the summer of love had an impact within the fender factory!
  10. Yep, 1994. A 3006 has the individual string saddles and a 4 pot system (with 2 stacked). And a different logo.
  11. I have a helix HX, a SY200 and a jamman solo that plays samples. The Helix is in the effects loop of the SY200, the Jamman goes into the effects return. The effects return is the last block in the chain (after the effects) on the helix so it gets neither the effects of the SY or the effects in the HX
  12. If they get the money they can move the body out of the bed
  13. I use van damme / Neutrik jack cables from eBay, they don't cost much and I have never had them go wrong. Also they are a different colour so I can recognise them easily. I have never had a fender cable that hasn't failed, or knew of anyone else having them (the fabric covered ones), although they have the replacement thing, which is handy as I have used it, I have one at home, I wouldn't gig with it. I also have a whirlwind cable from the early 90s Oh I have a planet waves cable with a switch on it. Works fine but I think it is one of the oversize things, as there are some sockets it seems too tight for.
  14. I doubt that you could get that many people at the bar, so they probably had to wait and hope he finished?
  15. and then we would be expecting the next one in 2041!

  17. i love that video, he is putting as much effort into doing that with the kids than he is live, and he is having a great time. Its true to say that none of my youth bands had a drummer like that to play with!
  18. The Pneuma drum video? That is a good one.
  19. I have never seen a chapman stick in an actual shop. I have only really seen one advertised in an actual shop and that was crazy money.
  20. I moved to the states in the mid/late 90s and sold all my music stuff. While I was there i bought a guitar and synth so played those. When I came back all my stuff was still on a boat waiting to get back and would be a while, so I walked into a second hand guitar shop* and thought, well, I had a guitar when it came back, i would get a bass, but I didn't have much money as my company weren't paying us reliably and we just had to get a new flat and stuff. There was a cheap 5 string bass with narrow string spacing that looked ok, and played ok. i had never had a 5, but it was cheap and thought why not. That was the only bass i had for 8 years so by the time I had a desire to get a new bass, i had got used to the 5, and though my new fancy bass was 4 string, and obviously better, I was still playing the 5 string more. 5 strings are niche as people didn't sell them. People didn't sell them as 5 strings are niche. * Portsmouth was pretty blessed by guitar shops in the 80s/90s.
  21. Close. An 'apartment' is what you Americans would call a 'flat'. An 'Apartment' over here would be considered a more expensive or flashier 'flat'.
  22. Not surprisingly because I got a flute that didn't have a silver mouth piece and caused a huge reaction on my lips which hurt quite a bit. Its easier (and looks better) getting silver than putting tape over it! Glad I am not a discerning high level player then as it isn't good enough for me. it obviously is or they wouldn't exist, and I have seen them.
