  1. Not surprising, it is an easy device to make with a very small component cost sold for a very non budget price, so you would expect a bit of competition.
  2. This is normal for us, but me and the singer have got very good verbal comminication so we don't have an issue. We do have arguments on stage but on the ones that are played to the audience, ie, not actual arguments. And we also vary the setlist in the process of the gig depending on the audience so there is some flexibilty there.
  3. I think that is one of those commonalities with rythmn sections - people don't really 'hear' the bass or drums, they just hear the vocals / guitars but if the drums or bass are bad they don't really like it for reasons they don't really notice.
  4. No, for the same reason as Facebooks dominance in social media. There have been several companies that challenged their dominance, but they bought them all. Once you get to the level of income where your managing director can just make spaceships to take tourists around, anyone that does come in with a better product or a lower price can be just bought out or ground into the dirt. My wife has an online shop, she does lots of custom things and has great customer service, but people often ask for help with some product and then say 'oh thanks, well I can get it on amazon cheaper'. And they can, they can get it for less than she buys it wholesale sometimes, because she lacks warehousing. For me, those little companies have value and that support has value. There is no effective antitrust thing that can stop you know when there are companies that have the income which is higher than most countries. They can just relocate to another tax haven like the UK protectorites have, pay for some government people to lobby for you, and you stay at the top.
  5. CTM100/300 circuit is commonly available on the net.
  6. Same here, the drummer makes a mistake we look at each other and he does the oops! thing.
  7. Yes, sounds faulty where a componant such as a capacitor is degrading and really affecting the frequency response.
  8. I have one of the mini-HP-Kongs so I can adjust where the cut off is set.
  9. Certainly do the issue is not that they have them but what they are. If it does something you need then yes. You have no control over the build in high pass filtering of an amp, it is wherever it is, normally fairly low on a bass amp. So if you want it higher, you need something to do the filtering for you.
  10. I am familiar and can get around bad guitarists, but it is next to impossible getting round playing with a bad drummer.
  11. I do believe they are the death of other shops and working conditions so eventually it will just be them and some other super shops like aliexpress etc. I wont use them for myself (although I have stuff that work get through them) and haven't since the early 2000s, and I rarely find I can't get things in other places, but I can't deny their efficiency or how cheap can things can be if you can get away without paying taxes!
  12. The timeout is just the screen setting, turn it off and it never switches off.
  13. Didn't like that so I got rid of it. Then I bought some gold leaf as it wasn't that expensive. Never done gold leaf before, didn't realise how flakey it was, and how hard to put on. But, although it is a bit rough at the moment and a bit uneven (I might try a bit more), it is way more umm.. lifefull? than the gold paint Still needs a bit of a tidy and removing of excess, but its much better than what was there before and you can really see it, which was the original problem
  14. This year, I got quite a few new things, and got rid of some too, so I am fairly balanced at the moment So my best purchases of the year are probably the basses: Can see there is a bit of a theme there. A Talman35 30" 5 string, a Mustang CV 30" and a JR 27". Its all about the short scale! I also got a X-Touch mixer controller which I am pretty happy with but haven't had a chance to use it live yet, so can't say (all the basses have been used live) Worst, well there is nothing particularly bad. I guess my worst was the future impact, not because its bad (its not, its a lot of fun) its just that I am not going to be able to use it in any of my present groups and I am going to lose a fair bit selling it. Or just leave it lying round in a box!
  15. And then if it doesn't get confiscated, but gets lost in the post you can only claim up to the value you said it was worth.
  16. Looking back I just went at a cursory glance, I think the last number is actually 68 rather than 66. I guess it was kicking round in the factory for a while!

  18. I have family in Kent and Cumbria, would need a pretty impressive amp for them to hear it!
  19. Because it is easier than driving round to all your family and friends and playing the same thing?
  20. I don't know, but we have one at markbass who make them.
  21. I am guessing it is that you don't need more than a single run through to be able to work that bass line out
  22. Doesn't sound that cheap anyway, they don't tend to go for much more than £300 on ebay anyway, and there is plenty of time left
  23. I am very happy with mine, a few gigs into using it.
  24. Nope. I looked. It is up to date and works, it just is an issue with the way the forum works. I am sure there is a way round it, but I am lacking some info!
  25. At the moment, no it is very entrenched in the way that the forum operates, in that the bump bar uses the same bit of 'furniture' as the reply button, and without the reply it is not there. I haven't given up, I am looking at other ways!
