  1. It will go loud, although obviously the louder you go the more distortion you get, although it takes a while to notice it, which is why people say valve watts sound louder, its more musical when driven. Goes loud enough for a loud drummer
  2. i like Amp II software, wondered if it translated the same. Sounds good
  3. I started liking the smoother tone, but now can't stand thuddy dull bass.
  4. Although my basses are wireless, I have two cables (a straight and right angle) that I got made with Neutrik (switching) jacks and van damme cables on eBay that have been fantastic, and not that expensive.
  5. I can't imagine that oil production will ever truly dry up, and even if it does, it doesn't mean you can't make plastic like materials. Even when you are not using petrochemicals for fuels, oils still have many uses.
  6. I really have wanted the white paisley none-more-white couch strap for ages, but its £50 before you add shipping from the states, and I also have no white guitars, so it would seem a bit pointless!
  7. What are the positive grid bias amps like? I was always interested but never really heard of anyone having one!
  8. Or not - China is the biggest exporter of leather, and get through an average of 2 million cats and dogs to produce it as you can't tell the difference anyway. And in that case is the primary source then, any meat is a byproduct. And even without that, the opposite, if you don't buy leather it will reduce the value of leather and reduce the value in killing cows. I am not vegan, or even vegetarian, but if there is a choice where both options are as good, I will go for the vegan option.
  9. Most of my straps are couch, and they are very comfy. They would be by go to strap. I also have a right on and one by Denali
  10. I have a couple of the RightOn straps. They are quite stiff but good none the less. However, I sold the blue bass my blue strap matched!
  11. Was never a huge fan of their pedals, but the X18, BCM2000 and other interfaces are brilliant. Also their synth revivals are good.
  12. I had a TC head with TC cabs (actually still do), but now use the Ashdown ABM600 with either the TC cabs or the basschat cab. Can't really pair that, because there isn't a basschat amp yet!
  13. Couldn't kiss have just lent him their backing tapes and taught him to lip sync, then they wouldn't have had problems! still, maybe they could get motley crue in instead, or maybe even Docken
  14. That's the only place a cap should be. Although you see it on the pot, it is effectively across the output, which is where it needs to be. if you had a j or pj bass (or even p ultra) with another pickup this would be the correct wiring. It's unusual it's this way, but not necessarily wrong.
  15. So yes, this is traditional P wiring, yours is wired like a jazz, so the output of the pickup goes to the centre and the output of that goes to the jack.
  16. The wiring looks fine - what is the issue. There is a white and black from the pickup, and another black from the metal frame (or something earthy) and there is another black from the bridge. All the blacks go to the earth of the pots and the bottom of the volume tone, the pickup hot goes to the pot centre, the output goes to the cap to the tone and to the jack. Its actually the way you would traditionally wire a jazz (or any two pickup instrument) than a P, but its not wrong as such, on a p you would generaly swap the centre and hot of the pot around. Is there a problem with it?
  17. Sadly, I never did join the group I learned that for!
  18. Just looking at the track listing, no.
  19. I had to learn that one for an audition, there is a thread on here about the correct fill! Oh yes, here:
  20. Thats the thing with the early lessons, there is a lot of fundamentals, including sections on just listening
  21. I thought i might work out how to play "Aint Nobody" on the stick. Might be a while.
  22. I have a lot of rechargeables*, not only the gigging stuff but also I have outdoor wildlife cameras. Over the last month I tested all the batteries I had as I had suspicions on some of them. Doing that I threw away 2 silver duracells (very old), 4 energizers, 1 ikea, and a couple of lidl batteries, again old. I marked the batteries as to how much charge they had. Anything below 1400 I threw away, 14-1800 marked with brown for internal house things, 18-22 marked with blue, and the 22+ marked with red. most of them are red. The ones that have surprised me the most are the coloured batteries I bought from lidl, for £5 for 4. I have quite a few of those. as I said I threw 2 away, I have 14 left I think, they are all red. The 3 ikea batteries that are remaining are higher than specified (they say 2480 and two are over 26). My new duracels are all good but I got them a few weeks ago when I threw a lot out. The duracels and the lidls (and ikeas) work a week in the trail camera. * Just counted 56 AAs, 12 AAAs, but there are probably some I am missing in gigging stuff.
  23. I like the duracells. IKEAs are quite powerful but had a duff one in the last batch, so I probably wouldn't get them again.
  24. I have fender long scale flats on my squier mustang, and they work fine.
  25. I use an X18 for all our IEMs, although only 3 of us use them, and all mono so no issues
