The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
Woodinblack replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
This specific bass was at the last SW bass bash, which is where I tried it -
Presumably you changed the strings since though?

picked up a rather nice short scale bass today. I doubt anyone has heard of the creator of them, but have been looking forward to this for a bit! -
Now sold, sorry to everyone else interested. Turns out, sell something fender shaped and everyone wants one! Black Aerodyne Jazz bass, Japanese 2013, plays fine but i am just not using it. Always wanted one of these but every time I forget how little I play a 4 string bass. So need to move it on. nothing I really want as a trade but if you have anything don't be afraid to ask, even though it would be more than likely to be no. Currently I don't have shipping materials, so would prefer a local ish (50 miles or so) meet up to trade, but at some point I would probably get something

Sounds very much like something is loose / intermittant, maybe as it heats up something expands and disconnects. Always tricky to find. Its true it would be uneconomical to fix but I am sure someon who wants to fix it for themselves could get it and fix it rather than just binning it. Obviously doesn't help you but better to re recycle if possible!

I must admit I need to spend some quality time fiddling around with the buttons to make sure that my understand is the same as the buttons understanding of what they do! -
Well, noone needs pedals if they have a group of people processing the sound somewhere else. But for the rest of us...

There's a bug in the forums.
Woodinblack replied to Downunderwonder's question in Site Issues and Questions
I am not saying that - I am saying that no code has changed in the last 24 hours. There is an update waiting but it hasn't been done yet. Although always happy to get references to where the problem has occured, although it hard to see why. -

Nothing has changed, maybe it was finger error? -
If you don't need one, don't get one. Seems pretty essential to me.

It sounds very much something in the B1/Four is loose, and probably just a coincidence what you are doing with the other guitars.
-
I would say in the vast majority the volume (and any balance) of most active basses are before the preamp, so the output is the same impedance at all volume settings. I can't think of any off hand that aren't that way, certainly that way on all of mine, but I am sure there are some that could be the other way.

Helix Floor/LT/HX/Stomp/PodGo owners' Club - Tips, Ideas & Patches
Woodinblack replied to Al Krow's topic in Effects
Ah, so not separate amps then. from what you described which was two basses going to two amplifiers, I would have just had a B1/four for each, but now I see you are connecting them to one amplifier. -
What are you listening to right now?
Woodinblack replied to Sarah5string's topic in General Discussion
On *this page*, yes, probably. -
Have you tried it with batteries. When you say 'I was brief getting power' does that mean the screen lit up?

The fretboard is anodised, I am not sure how robust, other than I haven't scratched it

The Big Fat South-West Bass Bash - Now Sunday 19th September 2021
Woodinblack replied to scrumpymike's topic in Events
Dont you just post a thread in the events, like you did with this one - why does it need a mods intervention? -
It doesn't matter where something is made, all that matters is where that thing is. If you are in the UK and want to send something to the EU or vice versa, you need to pay import duties and VAT to your own country. So it doesn't matter if it is someone selling a german bass from the UK to Germany, all that matters is that it is in the UK and it needs to go to the UK.

I am the same with that - I can't stand using a cable, it feels too odd, its in the way etc. I would be very reluctant to go back to a cable it has to be said! Why not send it back to thomman if you don't want it?
