  1. To be fair, they never really supplied a UK adapter for electrical stuff, but they normally send a converter
  2. I never liked the smiths at the time though looking back I appreciate their guitar and bass. But Johnny Marr is touring and writing, and he does old smiths songs without the morissey so that is good enough. I must say the biggest surprise when this story came out was 'the Simpsons is still going?!'
  3. Depends on what you are looking for, My Ibanez EHB is the lightest of all of the basses (and probably the best), but the look is unconventional and if you are a P or J bass man, you might find it too far. I also have an Elwood L which obviously looks more conventional and is lighter than usual basses of its type with the chambering (and ultralight everything).
  4. Where I would normally agree with you on the differences between the Barts and Nords, the barts on the prestige 5005 have something different to them than the others I have played, and althoguh they don't have the bite of the nords, they do have a depth which more than makes up for it. As well as a front to back variation the premiums don't manage. Why even though my #1 is the premium, I still have not sold the prestige. Right on the mass thing though, the 5005 weighs a ton, all that wenge (probably helped by my 1605 being one of the lightest premiums).
  5. Was it something I said or did I miss something?
  6. I have too many basses, but to be fair, I probably have enough unopened strings to string them all! Actually, it is untrue, I don't have too many basses as I play them all, I have too many guitars, as I don't play those. Although I am sure I have enough guitar strings kicking around too! True, it is an enabler. Most people would say before they were on a forum they had far fewer instruments.
  7. Ignoring the obvious Zombie, Zombie eaters by Faith no more is quite good fun. The only thing I have for X that isn't chrstimas based, is X-Offender by blondie, which always sounded a bit dodgy..
  8. I wouldn't have a problem with the backing track, especially if you are a group that has an organised set list, just the timing that would worry me.
  9. Yes, they were too until I tried the wizzard pickups, which is what my series/parallel bass has. The MFDs are really too hot. I think that is why they toned them down for the M2500 I often feel with my basses, I should probably just put all the controls outbourd, play it for a bit and then take the pots and switches out and replace them with fixed wiring / resistors at the values I want! Leave it with a volume with push to kill. Well, rics do sound a bit weak, which is not like quiet - all my SRs souned quieter than the L2500, but they didn't sound weak, they just had less volume.
  10. Quite considerably so I did too. Well, it was an L2500 but the same idea.
  11. Same here, G&L do great basses, always wanted to try the M2500.
  12. Ahh ok Well, you could if you wanted, but it would be a bit of a compromise with the wiring (although a 4 pole switch would do it). Do they? Obviously the total inductance of two coils in series where they are independant is the sum of both inductances, but the inductance of two coils in series when they are magnetically coupled can be less (or more, depends on the coupling). Clearly it is more from both pickups, but whether it makes that much difference I don't know. I have a bass which has Parallel / series wiring (actually two parallel / series / single coil humbuckers connected with a parallel series switch). It is hard to tell which is bassier as the pickups are just way too loud in almost every circumstance!
  13. I know, again I was refering to series / parallel between the two pickups.
  14. Funny, had exactly the same thought tonight, but then though, nah, I can get a ric another time!
  15. Not too bad. Certainly easier to work on than the 5005 was. Same with the 5005, except there are more pots.
  16. I meant with each other. You do whenever they are balanced dont you?
  17. Why don't you then? You could use the switch for series parallel
  18. The 5005? Yeh they are.. oh, actually very good Well, unless you have back issues, they are not exactly light weight!
  19. I picked up some of the dongle type ones (dongle on both sides) from aliexpress the other day, as I can't find the ones I used at home or for 'other band practice' (when I don't take the pedalboard). They were £30 so i thought I would give it a try to see if they are any good.
  20. Quite keen on giving the short scale version a try, even if it has the barts on it.
