I have a lot of rechargeables*, not only the gigging stuff but also I have outdoor wildlife cameras. Over the last month I tested all the batteries I had as I had suspicions on some of them. Doing that I threw away 2 silver duracells (very old), 4 energizers, 1 ikea, and a couple of lidl batteries, again old. I marked the batteries as to how much charge they had. Anything below 1400 I threw away, 14-1800 marked with brown for internal house things, 18-22 marked with blue, and the 22+ marked with red. most of them are red. The ones that have surprised me the most are the coloured batteries I bought from lidl, for £5 for 4. I have quite a few of those. as I said I threw 2 away, I have 14 left I think, they are all red. The 3 ikea batteries that are remaining are higher than specified (they say 2480 and two are over 26). My new duracels are all good but I got them a few weeks ago when I threw a lot out. The duracels and the lidls (and ikeas) work a week in the trail camera. * Just counted 56 AAs, 12 AAAs, but there are probably some I am missing in gigging stuff.

I like the duracells. IKEAs are quite powerful but had a duff one in the last batch, so I probably wouldn't get them again.

I use an X18 for all our IEMs, although only 3 of us use them, and all mono so no issues
-
ok, put them on the EHB last night (really nice to do the strings on that) so see how they last. Not the stainless ones, that bass is bright enough on its own.

I am sure if you had asked he would have given you one too?

I got it from here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154468393553 The guy didn't have great feedback but it was the only 14V 3Amp one I could find, other than Dell power supplies, so under a tenner. And if you have trouble eBay refund you. But I didn't have any trouble and it turned up when it said it would, and it works fine. Lead is shorter than the original, but not an issue for me.

Can't find my selling posts
Woodinblack replied to Woodinblack's question in Site Issues and Questions
OK, now it is there. Maybe because I bumped it yesterday? Although I can see older stuff that is unbumped. Oh well, one of those things then, its working now, so it doesnt' matter! -
Problems sorted! Still a shame you have to buy something else for something this price, but at least I have reliable power now.

It was tongue in cheek. No, I like the cure, or their old albums, I have seen them several times and some of their music is very significant to me, but I also believe there is a time for everything. But whether they carry on I guess as always is up to them, its their career.
-
The cure are still going?? Wow.

I have one (for sale now) and it was quite good, probably a bit superfluous for me as I am using amps live and Helix Native for recording.

Future impact?

Correct.

Ashdown CTM-100 - reduced £550 *Sold*

Back in the day, before the last update, I used to do a search in Activity -> My Activity Streams ->Content I started to find things I was selling. I wanted to reprice my CTM100 that is for sale, that I started on july 20th, but none of my selling posts come up. Makes it very hard to find my sales, especially as I couldn't find it with CTM100 (forgot I had a -), i needed to add ashdown. Here is a link to my post, And here is a link of my search

Thanks, that sounds good!

I know it was mentioned somewhere, and this is probably not the right subject (although it is close). Did someone say there is now a way you can take payment for paypal on collection? I have never accepted paypay for local pickup but I can swear I read something on here about a safe way to do it recently. Was going to put my Amp on ebay but there is no way I am posting a valve amp.

Thomman has sorted their VAT payments out now, so there are no other charges, same as some of the other larger EU suppliers, DV24, Bax etc (actually bax never had that problem). Its only small companies and second hand goods from personal providers where there are other costs.

Roger Waters - 30 for Dark side of the moon, and then followed by wish you were here, animals, and the Wall when he was 36.

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
Woodinblack replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
Mine were a lot cheaper than £100 but yes, it wasn't terrible but it was just a bit too heavy at that end. I think that is why the 1605 was almost immediately discontinued, and when there was another spalted poplar one it had another wood behind it. However, makes for a very nice bass with the weight, and after all these changes, I still feel it is my favourite. -

I do notice a difference in balance with bodies. Taking my SR1605 for instance, with the ultralite tuners on it it doesn't neck dive but the weight is very neutral, before with the gotohs on it there was a tendancy to be a bit head heavy. All my other SRs are heavier (up to the 5005 which is a brick) and the heavier they get, the less head light they are. The only structural difference between the 1605 and the 5005 is the top wood is spalted poplar, rather than wenge. It is amazing how much difference it makes. -
Thought it was more Charlie Watts myself
