There is a lot of that sort of thing - I have spent a lot of time avoiding blues groups and everything. i am in a pub rock band and that is ok, but it wouldn't be my first choice, and there isn't a lot of what I want to do around, but there are people who want to do different stuff, and maybe you just specifically have to look for them. Get the music sorted and then maybe the venue comes later.

Limited time Joe Dart Signature Bass, Go…
Woodinblack replied to AlexDelores's topic in General Discussion
If it was truly a limited edition it might be higher, but I think there will probably be quite a lot of them. And its like most of these sort of basses, I have never seen a sterling by musicman actually go for much, you can get them pretty cheap. -
Maybe you just need to find a different band?

It really isn't. £110 to ship 1 bass to the UK, that would be pretty good. 11000 to ship 100 basses? not so good. £335, seems like a good deal. £520, nothing special there then. -

I like the minimalist look, and the joe dart tag means nothing either way to me. -
You should be dancing by the BeeGees and The heat is on by Glen Frey. THe bass on that last one is a bit of a killer, just because it is relentless. The bass on dancing is easy, but made more complicated as I am singing it too!

Litterally what I came her to ask. I always say Hoe Tone, but not sure that is right.

would it kill him to get a red guitar to match?

Trust me, you might describe yourself negatively as competent, but you will be surprised at how many people in bands don't reach that level! So go out and find something, or find a replacement for him

I think I still have my ticket somewhere - I was going through a box recently and found it. Not sure where it is now, probably find it going through boxes again. I was probably got by asking someone who actually phoned or knew them (probably countb at the time) as I didn't do much phoning (I still dont!). PS: Thanks Dad for your valuable contribution to the conversation.

I have the 1x10 which is a great little cab with the bam200 for noodling around in my room. Not very helpful I know as you are after a bigger one
-
Yep, that is what I assumed. It was, the ticket was on black paper hand written in gold ink, and you contacted them by email or through uk.people.gothic on usenet to sort tickets out.

Seller skimming on Chickenbackers
Woodinblack replied to NikNik's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Again, what i said, that is just a fake ric, or fraud. That is different to something that is clearly not a ric but ric shape. If you advertise something as a rickenbacker, and it isn't, that is clear fraud. If you advertise something as a ric shaped bass, that isnt fraud. -

I think there is quite a difference between a fake ric, which I don't think any agrees with, and a ric styled bass. It is pretty obvious that none of those chickenbackers are rics or trying that hard to be like them. -
Love the Gus basses - still keep wishing that one would turn up at some price I could afford at the time, but I suspect it won't. Also shame I never got to the WGW. I was due to go in 1996, had the ticket for me and my girlfriend and everything but then me and my girlfriend had one of those not being together any more issues that stopped us going, then I moved to the states, so by the time I came back I was very out of the scene.

The IEM (in ear monitors) Bible thread
Woodinblack replied to EBS_freak's topic in Accessories and Misc
I got the ZARs tonight, they sound nice, but honestly not too much removed from the ZS10s, they have a more defined middle, and a tighter top. Happy to have them (apart from the cable not being the same, so I need a new headphone lead as the ones they come with are the auto-tangle ones) and they are more comfortable in the ears. I think they will help love with a reduction of cymbal noise! -
Certainly there is a lot more, a lot we already know about that are the rock stars of the day who had admitted to somethings but that was somehow acceptable back then. I mean if GG hadn't taken his PC to pc world with tons of child porn on it, why would anything have come out? That was all he was done for originally.

That must feel odd leaving after that long!
-
Yeh, I think one of the main problems there is not knowing. If you all know that most people are getting x and one is getting y, that is at least up front.
-
Yeh, I think I would be a bit miffed by that, all the groups I have been in have just been a wad of cash split n ways. Unless you have been employed by some organisation as a hired help, not sure why it would be different.

I know the cold thing, that messed my singing up - but why does the guitarist get twice as much as anyone else?

How old is the iPad? I have a Air2 which is now out of update support (my music one) and one of the first pros (my day to day one). can you do a screenshot of what you are seeing? Also maybe can you try changing the theme (using the drop down that is down there V somewhere)
