  1. Funnily enough, with the lockdown, my pedals get much less attention - they are out in my gig equipment area and I havn't seen them in ages. Indoors all I have is a B3n which I am currently using (and frankly, not that into), an aliexpress looper (again, haven't used much), a muslady mutli effects (which I have used on the guitar), and the effects on the spark (which I have used a lot more but sadly don't have an octaver).
  2. I think it takes every ounce of passion out of that song and makes it bland and lifeless. Still, if people like it, people like it.
  3. I don't think anyone has a problem with the style or friendliness of an email, I certainly don't - its the 'not getting a reply' thing which is my problem (and the reason for this thread)
  4. True - there isn't. At least he hasn't done a cover that bad either
  5. I am normally pretty tollerant of songs, especially covers, but that is just got to be the low point, it is pretty dire. Well, keeps the pensioners happy then and I guess it made them more money than Down with the sickness. Hmm.. I have seen a video of many hundreds of thousands more singing Achy breaky heart by Billy Ray Cyrus, but still not a fan. And still a better song! I guess if you like it you like it, there are some things I will never understand
  6. umm.. everything? A good group have taken a great song and butchered it. I think the Shaggs song is better, at least it started bad.
  7. Agreed - and I like both Disturbed and the original!
  8. Yes, there is a bass I would buy on here but it is pickup only, and as it is not in my town, that isn't much of an option. I had my bass on here as pickup only as it was a thunderbird and I had no case for it - it was too cheap to get a case to send it in. Took a year to sell. Have another one that has been for sale for a year, but it is obviously too expensive for most (or priced too high for people to be interested), but I can wait and I would buy it for that price so if it doesn't sell its not a stress having it! How long you are prepared to wait is also a factor.
  9. iTunes is currently playing tool (its on random). The bass sound is very different from James Jamerson. If James Jamerson had done the bassline for this song (incidently Rosetta Stoned), it would have sounded completely wrong, and would have been a completely different song. Also, if Justin Chancellor had taken James Jamersons bass to play it, it still wouldn't have sounded right (although obviously closer), so it isn't all in the fingers.
  10. Same here - I have had 'the one' for ages, but since having the EBH, its only really that and the shuker get a look in.
  11. funny, was about to tag him!
  12. My wife has no problem me buying basses, as long as they aren't ugly. Several basses (and guitars) didn't get to hang around as long as they would have otherwise as in conversations they would be 'you know, the gibson', 'no, which one is that', 'the brown one', 'oh the ugly one!'. The opposite is also true. "I might sell the Maruszczyk', "which one is that', 'the black and red one', 'Oh no, you can't sell that, thats my favourite'.
  13. Since 2014 the midi spec has actually been 3.3v rather than 5, so anything above 3 wouldn't be an issue. Also as it is a current loop, the low value has always been more important than the high value. either way midi devices are (by design) very tolerant of voltage levels. So much more likely what you are saying than how you are saying it!
  14. Oh yes, when a mistake is made, all the work has to be done by the shop to rectify it.
  15. See - I don't necessarily mind that. Stuff happens in the best run systems, it is how it is handled that is what sets my opinion on the company. Not responding to emails, attitude on the phone, that is what marks them out to me. They have some good stuff, and they have some good prices, so sometimes they are somewhere you have to go because there isn't anyone else.
  16. Yes, i have heard people say that. I guess you have to be lucky!
  17. They are not very good at answering emails
  18. Must be that if everything has changed. If it is that there isn't much you can do apart from wait until it gets warmer. The truss rod is your only choice if raising the bridge just makes it uncomfortable. It has to be said, there are advantages to a railboard!
  19. Someone turned up at my house yesterday and picked it up for his first bass. Almost 2 years and 1 month after listing, so now gone
  20. Every time I hear one, I assume I am in the garden.
  21. Perfectly feasible - I had a 5 string (low b) 5 string and it was fine
  22. I wouldn't say that - I would say they are recognised brands that go for that much. I have never played a KS, but I have played both an alembic or a wal that I wouldn't swap my prestige for for quality reasons (I would swap for financial reasons!), but if you want one, that is the price you have to pay.
  23. No, I had a guy contact me about the SR2605 that I have for sale from indonesia, saying that you couldn't get that there and had to import it, even though he was a couple of miles from their factory.
  24. Oh that looks like a fun thing.. might think about one of those
  25. The sugar tax was supposed to be put in by cameron but he backed down as quite a lot of wealthy tory donations come from sugar companies. I don't recal any critisism of sugar tax affecting the poorest members of society, it is them who need more work. I wasn't aware that scotland was socialist - other than they are what our mainstream was a decade ago, but haven't lurched right like us. I would assume the societal issues are related more to employment and the loss of it mostly north in scotland in old heavy industries that were closed down. By a group of many nationalities, like we used to excell at here as we had the european drug agency and other europe wide research. Presumably something we won;t have as much of in the future? I think people are in general happy to give credit where it is due, but maybe not so many people are so laser focused as you on whether something is british or not?
