  1. Can you not push the pole pieces up on the G string (is this the whole G string, or some part of it) while keeping the rest of the pickup low. I know that would not be a standard easy mod, but maybe with some other pickups? Simpler than having individual string coils a la wall etc.
  2. I would call that a baritone. There are quite a few baritone guitars around with that tuning (but more strings)
  3. Nice stick, love the dark ones, good price too, GLWS.
  4. Depends on your patience. I sent a bass back in march and it took until august to get it all sorted. Worked out ok in the end but I was pretty unhappy about it for most of that time, no / poor contact, everything took too long.
  5. Certainly you would expect much better image quality from a proper camera, but also where I am filming, you would expect it nicked.
  6. I would think that was the normal opinion, so hardly a heresy. I would say that most of those lines are great baselines that fit the song, apart from a couple.
  7. Happy Jack owns it. It is on its slow way back to him from here.
  8. I power mine with a set of rechargeable and change them at half time. Works ok for what I want to do, but I don't have big requirements
  9. Yeh, sounds good apart from all that jaco stuff. Would be good if they could have spelled YYZ seeing as there were only 3 letters, and only 2 different ones!
  10. I have a CTM100 and I enjoy using it when I use it but tbh, it is one gig out of 10 at most and it is just taking up space. I like the sound, but it takes more space than I have, and weighs more than I want to carry. I have a tc450 which does the 90% of the gigs and I would be happy to stay with just that. glad I had it though
  11. In the product description it states the switch is a blend between front pickup to back pickup. There is no EQ, just a preamp to buffer it.
  12. Oh yes, you are going to notice someone with this on!
  13. Well, Silvie can stand behind you and do it. Oh actually, she has the devils handedness hasn't she - ok, she can stand in front! Didn't occur to me until I put it on the sofa to take a picture and there is my Ibanez 1505 on the side of the sofa, and I thought 'oh its short'. Didn't actually occur to me playing it. I will measure it in a bit
  14. I will say, it doesn't weigh a ton. it actually plays fairly well, i have never played a danelectro as the look is not for me but it works well. I played it through the vox, which I must say sounds very nice. As they are short scale necks, they actual instrument isn't as big as it looks. The two strap buttons don't have a point, it is just the original strap buttons from the donor instruments. Don't know what all the controls do yet apart from the switch which switches between necks. At the moment it is a double throw switch so you can't have both necks at the same time, which you might want to correct, as it means you can't do the standing behind someone playing the other neck thing like they do in game shows.
  15. Never had a machine head break at all, and I have a lot of Ibanez, although a few of them have hipshots and Gotohs on them.
  16. That is indeed where I am, so south of taunton but in a straight line out. However, I come up your way quite often.
  17. Most of it is just practice. Obviously within the confines of what you have you have limits but it is just muscles, they need to work to get good. And frankly a lot of it is just confidence It does to some extent but not to the same level as the voice lives. Pitch correction is one of those things that needs to be practiced with.
  18. I use a voice live play, and so does the singer (after using mine). Good echos, good harmonizing if you set it up well (certainly worth you making presets for songs knowing what the key is). Had a few glitches with mine though, but it is underpowered on a pedalboard, so probably why. My wife has the Mic Mechanic, it adds a bit of warmth, but more an individual singer thing, as it doesn't do much that you couldn't do with the mixer (or it does, but probably not enough to warrant). I have just got a TC Critical mass as I realised that for mostly backing vocals, all I really need is the gang vocal and backing singer stuff. Its also smaller and space on the pedal board is a big thing for me.
  19. I must admit I do love the spacing on this but I know I would once again fail to get to grips with a 6, in the way I always have!
  20. And you are just going to leave the other 2 strings off or put them as BEADGC? I will take a grand stick in standard tuning. And a private tutor!
