You are joking, I have spent much more time in the last few years fixing the lights on the drums than any battery work
-
The led will probably take orders of magnitude more power than the preamp.
-
Agreed. I can play some things wrong really fast!

The only times where I have had a flatter battery on a gig, the battery went flat over a number of days, not less than a minute. That is an odd thing. My first ibanez got quieter and quieter and I didn't realise what it was at the time but it was that Ihadn't changed the battery in the 4 years I had it. Must be taking a lot of power (or a defective battery) to do that. Luckily if it was going to go dead in a short time I only need to get to the end of the song and then I have enough time to change the battery while the guitarist is tuning!

I have spare 9v and a box of AA & AAA. And a screwdriver for those basses. Never lost a bass mid gig, but I had a problem wtih a badly wired bass (my wrongo) that didn't actually have an off, so you had to take the battery out, until I fixed it, and the one time I gigged it I had forgotten to do that.

Or https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/113707992641 to its friends!

Ow, seriously not cheap. That is way out of my price range for a power supply when all I really need is a couple of plugs, but thanks for the offer!
-
Not something I would want to listen to but very tallented and also I think a fantastic practice in translating what you hear into what you play.

Oh I supposed I could use one of those power bank things to power the USB, except then I have to remember to charge it before using it and risk it running out of power (as they also charge from 5v). I did notice the joyo power supply also had a usb out and was battery as well (not enough to power a helix obv), but I didn't really want to go changing power supply when everything was actually working fine

I have two needs on my pedalboard at the moment. I want to power a USB device (which is a 12 step to midi adaptor but matters not) from my pedalboard psu, which obviously has a load of 9v out (and 12 and 18). I have been searching and it seems that the world wants me to convert this the other way. If I want to power something from USB there is no shortage of that. I could throw an LM7805 in a box, but that is a lot more trouble than I want. Also, I have my pedalboard and I have a helix HX. I can't reliably pwer the helix from the PSU, but it powers from its own rubbish adapter. Anyone know where I can get a US power socket in line so that I could just wire it underneath my pedalboard so I can use one socket to power everything?

PMT bass sale now. Some real bargains
Woodinblack replied to fretmeister's topic in General Discussion
Hmm.. not sure they are entirely sure how this sale business works. They had a VR-09, and I really like those so I keep an eye on them, but it was a B-Stock one with slight scratches above the screen, and it was £615. https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/b-stock-roland-v-combo-vr-09-b-live-performance-keyboard I though they must have gone up as they used to be less than that. So I did a search on the net and found out.. https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/roland-vr-09-b-v-combo-live-performance-synthesizer Yep, the price of the VR-09 brand new at PMT was £529! So yay, you can buy a new one for 529 or for only £85 more you can get a used one with scratches. -
Will give it a try. But now I just remembered I built a lowpass filter and forgot to put it on there! Oh well, it is only small, it can fit somewhere!
-
Actually I wish I had made a note about that. We do "in the end" linkin park, and I picked a really good setting last time I played it, but that was in March and I didn't make a note. I always just winged it before because it was never on my board. Also I am playing piano with the other hand, and singing
-
Good point, will charge the camera battery!
-
Yep, on a truck with a PA provided and all. Looking forward to that!
-
Have a gig next week, so thought i would finally get round to doing my (not at all pretentious, but just the right size) pedal board. By dropping the voicelive in favour of the critical mass it means I have enough room for my synth pedal, yay!

Why has something got to be new and un-influenced by previous things to not be overrated? why does anyone that gets successful or good have to be torn down rather than just accepted. I mean, I don't really like a lot of these people but I can't do what they do, which is born out by the fact I am not where they are. Obviously if I was there would be people saying the same about me though. What a stupid thread! and yes, I see the irony of replying!

Tax and duty on instruments when we leave the EU

No, these are completely new systems for transfering stuff from europe. -
Oh they look good

Bands and hissy fits. Stuff you couldn't write!
Woodinblack replied to itsmedunc's topic in General Discussion
Hard to argue that one! -
Doesn't affect latency, affects tracking. And it doesn't have to be that good, as there is an adjustment for each string.

Tax and duty on instruments when we leave the EU

Yes, my wife had a shortage of one of her drugs for about a month, luckily she had a few left over but by the time she managed to get some stocks had gone. And you can't really stockpile prescription drugs. -

We will have the free trade deal with America so we can have all the OxyContin that you want No but there could be quite a few issues in actually getting the drugs. -
Don't see any reason why it would make a difference.
