Yeh, but was it that lead or another one. Had you played your cards right you could have ended up with 2 leads and a damaged bass! Anyway, congrats on the SRH - I played one in PMT once and it seemed good but I wasn't that short of a few SRs at the time!

Why is Nickel plated steel so common on cheap strings?
Woodinblack replied to shoulderpet's topic in Accessories and Misc
No, not that level. The skin on the bottom of my lip got messed up because I tried playing a flute that wasn't silver - sadly not good enough to warant a silver one, and I can't wear rings unless they are silver. My original white gold one had a nickel content, that didn't go well. So I got a tungsten replacement, that didn't work either, so my wife bought me a cheap silver one (<£10) annoyed that I had lost the expensive one. I wore that for 10 years, until I got a stone one in new orleans. -
It was odd that they couldn't do better than that isn't it? Or an SR neck as they call it. The neck as it should be! Turns out I have a few of those (including my maruzchyk as that has a neck sized from the ibanezes).

Reverse the mods - not the tuners, that isn't really a mod, just an upgrade. Can you use the pickups on your mezzo?

I have a nickel allergy which means I can't wear most rings or jewelry or play a cheap flute (that was a painful one to work out), but never actually had a problem with nickel strings, I have no idea why. Well, If I have been playing a lot my fingertips go a bit black but I assumed that was something else, it certainly doesn't inflame them at all. -
Miserlou Why aren't we allowed to sing now?

That is actually just the way all pomplamouse songs are.

Same here. I had an eprom programmer in the loft for years, finaly gave it away about 10 years ago after not using it for 10 years. Wish I could do that wiht the rest of this stuff!

Same here, which is a shame bearing in mind how I wasn't that bothered about the original!
-
Well, yes as it is a standard sort of groove, but the fills and runs are quite a bit different and add quite an interest

She is excelent, it has a real feel to it.

I like a lot of pop music, that one seems needlessly bland to me, but the bass is good, so worth listening to.

I bought something the other day and I had an option for feedback

I like the bass song - if you concentrate on it you can sort of blank the song out.

*SOLD* G &L Tribute 2500 - 3 Tone Sunburst

He has been very helpful in sorting out this preamp issue. I have been very impressed with the quality of this bass. Still not convinced that 6 strings are for me, especially when the string spacing is this wide, but the quality is evident. I may eventually end up with a slightly different shuker!

Help me find a courier that wil ship my bass!
Woodinblack replied to attackbass's topic in General Discussion
Thanks for that. I might have need of a bit of sending soon, so that is worth knowing -
I wouldn't unless its cheaper. they are not uncommon items and you can get a good one for less. TBH, I probably wouldn't go for that for quite a bit of a discount. I would go for bax, i have had no problems with them. Or PMT. I am not a fan of GAK but I have not actually had any trouble with them.

This is a G&L 2500 tribute in what I believe is 3 tone sunburst, which I think looks pretty good for a sunburst, given that I am not a fan of sunbursts! Generally a good condition with a bit of rash on the back and a bit dulled around the back there. Currently this is strung with black tapewound strings, which I don't' think are particularly a good paring. If it was to stay like that the action on the B string would have to come up as it is quite low tension. I can put some normal strings on this if it is desired. Tone is massive on this, and it is pretty P like as a bass, except much louder. Has a slightly modified wiring in that the series parallel switch is now a series / parallel / split coil. Anyway, it all works fine but it is sitting in my room unplayed as it is just a bit P bass like for me with a bigger neck than I normally get on with. Can pick this up from yeovil, or meet somewhere close, or I suppose I can post it if you want.

Now including shipping for £945. Obviously postage off that if you want to meet up somewhere within 30/40 miles of Yeovil, lockdown permitting. Ibanez Premium SR2605-CBB thats Cerulean Blue Burst to you. It is the best looking 2605 I have seen. This is my latest of my SRs, the one with the crazy 15 laminate neck panga/Maple/Paduak/Purpleheart/Walnut neck and the titanium rods as well. It also has luminay dots on the side. It is a lovely thing. Has the using premium stuff, big single pickups, 3 band preamp with a 3 way switch for the centre frequency etc. Comes in the standard Ibanez 'firm' case. I really like this bass, and I didn't think I would be selling it but there is something else I really want, and of all my SR basses, this one is probably worth the most. And at the moment, I am not playing many of them due to a lack of gigs. Or maybe I should sell the SR5005, as I play that least! Condition wise it is really good although I noticed there were a couple of scratches on the back. I couldn't photograph it with my good camera, so I got a picture with the phone, and that shows it up, although it seems worse on that than it is. Its on the photos and I like to list everything. It is all smoke free and has only been gigged a couple of times, however that is enough to show it can play both mustang sally and all right now. Anyway, I can send it insured for £30 and obviously you can pick it up or we can meet in or near Yeovil in some socially distanced way. I put this up for sale on eBay too so obviously might have to remove it if it sells there. Happy to talk offers but don't want any trades as I am only selling it to buy something else. I will relist it on eBay again when they have a £1 offer Not generally after anything as a trade, although if you have an Ibanez EHB1506MS than I am interested, likewise anything from ACG / Shuker / Alpher. Will accept anything where I don't lose money, cash, bank, paypal F&F, gold bullion, drugs etc. -

The processor makes a difference, but not as much as you would think. But the thing is, the i3/5/7 are a decade old now. They come out with a new one every year (in fact the first number is the year) and although you can generally say that i3 < i5 < i7 (and now i9), its not so clear cut as to whether a newer i5 is worse than an older i7. But there are comparison sites. The only think you can say for definate is that a spinny disk (ie, non SSD) is only really useful to store things that you are not working on. Luckily the mac has been doing that for a lot longer by default, unluckily apple are very tight with sizes and very keen on non standard / upgradeable disks.

sponsored Markbass Strings launch offer for Basschat members
Woodinblack replied to MSL Pro's topic in General Discussion
Not coated but getting pretty round myself it has to be said! But seriously, what does coating give you? -
Well, it has been sent back to bax now, so hopefully they will send back a fully working replacement. As I said, it is a great bass and I was perfectly happy with almost everything on it until I noticed that. Obviously I will check the replacement. If it seems like a common problem then maybe picking up a roasted maple one and replacing the pickups would be the way to go? Failing that I sell everything I have and get one of the UK luthiers to make me something with the same playability that holds together
