what is the weight on that? i loved the sound of my HB jazz and almost everything was perfect, I just didn't have a roadie to help me carry it to the stage. Maybe I need that roof support thing?

I have never seen one, but if they are copies of fenders, how can the headstock not be ugly?

The 4xxx series were the older prestige models. I didn't know they still did them. Shame they don't do more variation in the prestige, or that we don't get them. They did a fan fret prestige too. http://www.bassline.it/store/en/basses/2090-ibanez-srff-4505-prestige-sol.html

Yeh, I guess it has to be the neck, that is the 'noticeable difference' between the 2605 and anything else, it has the crazy laminations. Not sure the frets bring much (although it does sound harsher). The 1605 is a very light bass compared to most, so lighter than the 2605 but not much, the 2605 is like a feather compared to the 5005 which is like an anchor compared to everything else I own. Ultimately, it is not a bad thing, none of them sound bad and I should be happy that they sound different.

Congrats on your new bass day! Its just getting used to it isn't it. Remember you don't have to force yourself to use the other string, just before you know it you will find out certain things become easier, then one day you go to a gig and realise you can't remember how you play it on a 4. That is why I am getting rid of my 4s! I don't tend to use the EQ live unless I need to correct something, like if the building is over boomy I will turn the bass down a bit. It is versatile and functional, just not really that much of a fiddler.

I bought one. Still waiting. I think I am going to be waiting for a while yet: But yes, I want something I can use for guitar or bass. Clearly it is good for guitar, but there are presets for bass, and if it is as good as AMP, which I am assuming it should be, it will be great.

Thought l was having a bad day until.....
Woodinblack replied to leschirons's topic in General Discussion
To be fair, that is normal for a Les Paul. I mean, is it even really a les paul until the headstock falls off? Thats what you pay extra for. -
Not something I use, I just use the pedal as is.
-
Sure does: The SY-1 offers a numbers of ways to make your synth performances even more dynamic and expressive. Pressing and holding the pedal switch sustains the last-played synth sound, allowing you to jam with regular guitar over the top. You can also connect an external footswitch for tap tempo and octave-shift effects, or plug in an expression pedal for continuous Tone/Rate control. Oh I stick it in loads of things. I am not a 'blend in the mix' sort of player

Took a while to find a strap for it, but think I have done it now!

Well, as long as you never give up, that is what matters So you went to a shop to get the cheapest budget Ibanez SR and then it turned out you wanted a SR premium? That worked out well then! -

Woodinblack replied to Skinnyman's topic in General Discussion
Just because all your basses are wrong! But still, as you say, we can agree that at least it isn't the travesty of the 4+1. The only one that has that is the wrongo, and somehow it suits that -
UPDATE! Bax Music - anyone have any good experience with them?
Woodinblack replied to Carl G's topic in General Discussion
Update: They now accept my bass is lost so are sending me out another. Or will as soon as there are any in the UK. Whole thing could have been sorted wtih better comms. -

Absolutely is what usually happens. Looking at all my basses, half of them are like that! -
You can copy and paste it from the title. I find it easy to write, as I type the letters m z k and it auto-expands to Maruszczyk, because I have one and had to type it a lot!
-
Yeh, but they don't do necks in decent sizes, unlike maruszczyk

Actives basses into preamp pedals - opinions?
Woodinblack replied to AinsleyWalker's topic in Effects
Not sure why it makes a difference if it is active or not, if you want to change your EQ on your pedalboard, there seems to be a lot of options to do it. Luckily I have all the toneshaping I want on my amp, because I certainly don't have room on my pedalboard! -
and remember the configurator is a much newer thing, when I bought mine it didn't exist, you just contacted him with a list of things you wanted.
-
They manufacture their own necks and bodies.

Well, that is kind of backwards. a wav file is the data you want to send to the A/D converter put in a file. An MP3 file is that same data that has been compressed and encoded to use less space. If something wants to play that track, it has to open the MP3 file, decode and expand it to an approximation of what was in the original wave so that it can play it. I can't imagine there is a media player than couldn't directly play a wav file, or the equivalent - there are several formats that are uncompressed or loslessly compressed files, AIFF etc. Pretty well the same, the wav format was just microsofts version of an AIFF.

interesting - I am guessing volume for each string on both pickups. -
The Big Fat South-West Bass Bash - Now Sunday 19th September 2021

Also would be happy to but then you would have to travel to Yeovil to pick it up, and most people try and avoid that
