  1. You don't look carefully what is in the bottom of your flaggon of ale before drinking it. Hello fellow Yeovil dweller, there are a couple of us here. Are you in one of the local groups (although we are all waiting for the venues to open again!).
  2. Will dent if you breath heavily on it
  3. I found him to be amenable all the way through until there was an issue, then he was considerably less interested in talking.
  4. I would say might have done, but dealing with shitty customers is part of the job, so when they are paying you 2k, if they send you a message you think is a bit shitty, you can whinge at your coworkers and call them any name under the sun, but when it comes to replying, if you are not the sort who can keep it better than that, find someone else who can. My wife gets the occasional bad email like that, she will rant at me about it, and then write something polite back. If she really can't, then I do it for her. It is basic customer service really. For all the issues that occur with Maruszczyk in basschat I would think that 90% could have been better solved if they just got someone better at talking with customers than Adrian.
  5. Then as I said, he needs someone to keep it sorted. If you are in business and you are too busy to reply to your customers, you need to find someone who isn't.
  6. Good idea! Hope you are wrong, good luck with your job!
  7. Yep, that is a feature rather than a fault. Same as the fretboard. The electronics and the scratch though, they need something doing.
  8. That one seems to make more sense as you can tae it apart and it is headless.
  9. I have foam in the truss rod cavity. I think it is nicer than just a plain hole with a allen key hole in there. Although not as nice as a nut with holes in it like musicman have (and even my chinese wrongo!)
  10. Yep, always though that they should have someone to deal with customer interaction as he is not good at it. There are a few in the Maruszczyk thread that come pretty close.
  11. Nothing new under the sun
  12. I see these rooms and know I could never post mine!
  13. I found it was more that sometimes he missed messages. He either replied straight away or he didn't and you should just email again
  14. My Dean 8 edge 8 string. Love this thing but fundamentally just not playing it and I am cutting down numbers. I also have no idea what one of these is worth so putting it up here at £250, I can't even remember what I paid for it but it was something around there. It is a bit tatty, has a few scratches and dings, and the top of the headstock has had some impact before I had it (which is odd, as I normally do that). You can see from the pictures although there are a few highlights from the lights which look like scratches but aren't. I do have the truss rod cover somewhere but I have looked today and can't find it. If I find it I will put it back on but assume it doesn't have it. Active bass, 4x2 strings, bass, treble, no passive option. I have just replaced the jack socket as it was very noisy, now it isn't, it is very quiet. The neck relief needs doing probably, it is as flat as a pancake which means the low F buzz on the strings. I never bothered to correct it as I quite like the sound but it probably needs doing. Or maybe the fret is low as nothing else is buzzing. Either way it has a low action and could easily come up but it has one of those fixed bridges where the whole thing goes either side. As per the other adverts, pickup from Yeovil, drop off closish, meeting half way, can look into postage but by now I am getting a bit low on boxes. Not out of the country thats for sure. No trades, trying to cut down on stuff, although suppose I could put it towards a HX stomp, don't need basses or amps though. Can do sound samples if you want Anyway, pictures! Would be nice with the TRC wouldn't it? The scratches at the top of this are scratches, the white dots at the bottom are reflections of lights All those pretty machine heads Can always clean this if you want. The bridge adjustment is just the two screws either side of the bridge, so the E(s) end can go up a bit.
  15. Gretsch G2220 Junior Jet Bass II in black. The little short scale one that doesn't weigh much, like the guy from Royal Blood plays (but in black). Complete with a Gretsch gig bag. This is in reasonably good condition, couldn't see any major dings or scratches. I have gigged it once and taken it along as a backup to other gigs. Originally it had a squeeky pickup switch but that has been replaced for a decent one. Good basic tone, nice and easy to play with the short scale, as mentioned I have taken it along as a backup but sadly it really isn't getting played because I have the hohner as a backup and that has 5 strings. I really am not playing 4 strings at the moment, and I have a jazz bass in case I ever need to (and I will probably sell that too). Can be picked up from Yeovil, or delivered reasonable distances, or happy to meet up somewhere. Don't want trades, just cutting down on numbers. Could post it if you really want, although not out of the country.
  16. I am having a clearout, so putting up a few basses tonight. This is an odd one, this is my 'wrongo', it is like an ali-express copy of a musicman bongo, but not really a copy, more a parody, by someone who has never actually seen a real bongo. I actually had to ask them to not put the proper bongo logos on it, although if they had, who knows where they would have been. So, its basswood, probably, its quite light. Has a thickish deep neck, so more musicman, but reasonably narrow spacing. The dimensions are all wrong, and when I got it, it went through batteries - although see those two 9v battery covers? One of them has nothing behind it! Turns out the bit that turns power off, the stereo jack socket, well , they had also gone for a 3 pin socket but it wasn't actually stereo so the battery was on permanently. That is now fixed with a new socket and is now functional. If you look at the detail, pretty well everything is wrong. The markers on the side don't even line up. That is all the bad, but in its defence, it actually plays very well, has a nice action and sounds pretty good. Presumably more by luck than judgement. I have even gigged it where someone actually asked me if it was a bongo. I mean, imagine someone in a pub audience noticing the bass and then knowing what a bongo was? And then being wrong It is actually a nice bass to play and it lived in my office as a sort of bash around bass. As such it has got a couple of scars on its actually not bad matte black silky surface. But, I need to reduce numbers and get rid of things, so it has to go. So here it is, can pick it up from my house for £125, or I can deliver or meet in a socially distanced way somewhere not to far (would be good for a drive), or I could probably ship it - can't cost too much as it isn't worth much so insurance isn't an issue.. Not going down below £125 because that is hardly worth the effort and I had to work on it. Can always hang on to it and sell it off at the SW bass bash when that happens. Don't want to trade as I am cutting down, although if there is something worth 125 that isn't a bass or amplifier related, I am all ears. Thing of beauty? I scratched it here on the side Look how well those line up. The machine heads aren't the best I have used, but it doesn't go out of tune. Two battery compartments - go on, which one is the real one, are you feeling lucky? Not too bad really Look at the masterful way the strings all bend slightly to the left. OK, so the pickguard was chewed away from the plastic by a small child and the fret side dots were applied by dats from a distance, but those frets aren't bad and the pickups work
  17. Agreed, it is always tricky when buying online rather than getting the one in a shop. I saw one in PMT and didn't like the top as much.
  18. Is the top of that barefaced (ie, the right hand side on that picture) supposed to be like that, like it has been cut out of something and not matching the bottom?
  19. But the euro equivalent of £1299 5 years ago was £970, so if you paid £800 it has gone up 20% in 5 years. Just we trashed our money a few years back.
  20. Maybe it was 2 minutes to midnight when they recorded it, although then the last chorus should be a few minutes past midnight.
  21. So you're buying the album is what you are saying?
  22. My indie Tribal? Yes, its a bit overboard. Its a bit tatty too but it was cheap. Its my main goto guitar, just because it is so solid.
  23. I don't think there was negativity from their playing!
  24. Yep, that is quite good if it was a bit greener
