  1. I can see the c# thing, but it is just a dip down rather than an actual note. Do you have anything effects wise? I would use a synth pedal (as I have one), or something in a helix, maybe even a cleaned up distortion
  2. Two tone for me but i suspect you will end up with an equal number of replies for either, so it wont help!
  3. I love the way they get the lowest string to bend in the middle, almost like a bad photoshop!
  4. Maybe it depends on your group. I was playing on friday and my battery died in my boss pedal that I hadn't plugged in. Trust me, everyone noticed!
  5. Good hack, now hand the keyboard back to Al, you are not fooling anyone!
  6. Oh I don't consider any sound difference, but some colours work!
  7. Same here. I have never actually had any problems, but it never hurts to change.
  8. I always cut them after bending. Although almost had an accident the other day of putting the wrong string on the wrong place, as it was a different make which called the string the wrong thing. Luckily there was enough room to get it where it needed to be. Just
  9. In general almost all my basses are dark wood - I would say rosewood, but some are panga panga, and one is ebony, but they are all basically dark, the darker the better (although probably not ebony any more), however, some basses / guitars just look better with maple fingerboards. I have a hankering for a buttercream jazz player bass (I have no idea why, it has 4 strings, I will play it twice and put it on a shelf never to be played again), but that would look bad with rosewood. I think for fender style instrument, once they reach a certain level of critical lightness, maple works. Oh I had a Squier CV precision that was maple but one of the really yellow ones, and I absolutely loved the colouring of that, it had a lovely neck. I guess what I am saying is some colour combinations just work.
  10. Interesting. I am not particularly after speaker models, as I have speakers, but worth taking a look to see if it brings anything to the party. Although I do have a helix LT as well now so I suppose I could use that. The HX is still the one on my board though
  11. It is. That is why I renewed my passport before the new one. I know, it makes no difference to my rights, I have still lost them all, but at least I can go through customs with a bit less embarrassment!
  12. ok, well, I don't want to assign malicious intent to something where none was meant, but the conversation seemed very bizarre He said To which you said I am not quite sure how you worked that logic out from that sentence, but still Do you genuinely believe that there is a logic to what you have said? If so how do you work it out? Not only is it not a quote, it makes really no sense. He didn't say that and he clearly didn't mean that. He clearly said that pretty much every policy which people believe was imposed on us by the evil EU is a policy that was created or approved by the UK government. At no point does that imply that the UK created all of these policies, or that noone other than the UK approved any policies or that the UK never makes policies that in its benifit. Just because strawberries are red, it doesn't mean that everything that is red is a strawberry.
  13. Not my argument, or my conversation but I am wondering, are you deliberately misreading and misquoting everything he has said, or do you have a problem understanding? It seemed pretty clear what he said the first time you misquoted him, now it seems you are actively trying to misunderstand.
  14. These hangers were put up (well, 4 of them were) in 2008. The walls here are like powder. I was initially concerned about the middle ones as they are quite long (and the brown bass is heavy, but it has only been there since 2018) but never had any trouble with it. I check every year to see if they have moved at all, they never have. I have another 4 upstairs. One came out when I first put it there as I used the original screws that came with it that were about an inch long and tiny, I put it back with proper screws and all is good.
  15. Mine have to be either on the wall or in stands, and I only have the space for a stand. If a bass (or anything else) is in a case, it will never get taken out. If it isn't going to get taken out of its case, I might as well sell it. Never had a problem with setups, but then I don't really have any 'sensitive' instruments. Obviously it is different if your house isn't safe for instruments due to children or animals!
  16. what's the difference? If you live there you will find out they are much closer to our idea of countries. The GDP of California is ahead of the UK for instance, let alone our individual countries. no, but unlike the US, we have lost a state, they haven't They do, probably like the EU with us in it, a bit more comparable than us alone
  17. I know a couple of artists that tour Europe, but they are not big name acts and tend to play small venues around (often staying at peoples houses over there). I am pretty sure that neither of them do it for the money.
  18. I assume by most successful union of nations you mean the US? And the Spanish have already said they would welcome Scotland in, as long as there is a valid referendum result permitted under UK law, which meant everything was legit (unlike Catalonia).
  19. I know who my local MP is, he is a parachuted in Tory who has no interest in anything other than brexit. We have conversed with him several times, and have come to realise that he is not one of the bright crayons in the packet* and that what you want doesn't entirely align with his views, he has no interest in helping you or assisting in any way. And in the latest election his majority increased. To be fair, I think he put a lot of effort in. I think he even visited the area once or twice for a photo op. * My wife runs and online shop, she wrote to him because as a direct result (ie, you can measure it) of brexit her shop is doing badly compared to 2016, and asking about aditional help the government can provide to small businesses. He wrote and said the problem she was facing was due to the increase of internet shopping. Well, thanks for reading Marcus.
  20. I was always one for ii, but there are only so many years you can fight for your cause before you realise that it is a complete waste of energy. Madness is trying the same thing over and over again expecting a different outcome. Brexit has proved to me that the countries priorities are so far removed from mine, although i) seems negative, it is exactly the same outcome with less effort. I am not too old to make a life anywhere else, so as I can't actually choose my neighbours, the best option is just to fraction further and just have as little to do with them as possible.
  21. Forgot to plug the SY1 into power yesterday, thought it wouldn't be an issue as it had a reasonably new battery in it (like just over a practice). Died on me half way through the last song of the first set 😫 The bass was fading in and out, didn't know what it was. Second half it was plugged in, won't make that mistake again!
  22. Not a fan of steely dan at all, in that some of it I cant stand and the rest leaves me cold but my wife is a big fan of it so I have heard a lot. Its good to play along with some of it, there is good stuff in there to play, even if not to listen to, but then I find quite a bit of music is like that, you can appreciate the brush strokes without actually liking the painting. Had to learn Pretzel Logic for a gig that never happened, and as such I got used to, so I don't mind it. I think that music is better that they did exist as loads of musicians I do like have quoted them as an inspiration.
  23. I would agree entirely on that. I have done a few petitions and all of them have come back with 'thanks for signing the petition, the government have considered it and decided that we are going to do what we want anyway'. Now the government have a huge majority I don't think they even have to pretend that they care about anything outside their agenda any more. I am utterly voiceless too, never more so, and it seems so far non aligned with peoples wishes (in that I don't even understand them), that it seems for the first time in my life, there actually is no point in trying to get involved in anything.
