Well, who saw a Stylophone Theremin coming?
Woodinblack replied to Woodinblack's topic in Other Instruments
Indeed - but that isn't a moog I had thought of those, and I also did think of the moog theremini, but it hard to see what it is like because if you look on a place where theremin players hang out, using a theremini is basically digging up Leon Theramin himself and using his body as a scarecrow, but a bit worse. Wonder what they will make of that. If this turns up it will be a fun thing at a price that is still in the fun area -

Indeed - and that is what put me off getting one - I have a few insruments that I don't have time for, but until you try, you don't know if it would be fantastic or not so great. I can't really imagine doing mustang sally on it at the dog and duck. Crazy horses on the other hand... But this, at near £100, as a pure music making machine, I can live with that, and also lets me know if it is something I would like to do. I don't think you get many theramins at open mic nights -
I dont' think this is unusual for ibanez. Although there are a lot of different SRs, that is only because they have been going so long. Each year they have a few models in a few colours. Otherwise it is a big market to cover.

I think the theremin has the synth engine of the X1 by the look of the controls. -
Why? if you are watching something on the telly you just press the record button and watch it later - also unlike online players or youtube, you can skip any adverts

isn't your one pickupless on the front? Mine the pickups are sort of part of the neck, so not much scope for adjustment

I think the great advantage of this is the cost - I think they should have probably put a trigger out on in or some other interface, but that is not really what they are about. But build that into some filters and a bit of cheap hacking, and people are going to do great things with it! -
They just sent me a new power supply as I bought an SY300 really cheap on their blowout but it was from germany so had a euro plug.

No - I paired when I first had it and haven't done it since -

But I am thinking a raspberry pi micro to do pitch to midi for an output -

Im guessing not the drums and I would imagine there were multiple tracks and effects put on afterwards (although it has echo) -
Just as a follow up, I complained to G4M that it didn't have a UK power supply or adapter, and they sent me a new genuine boss PSA power supply for it

40th Anniversary Precision £259 at Thomann!
Woodinblack replied to Frank n funker's topic in Bass Guitars
I just noticed. Thats a problem then -
The electrics are fine - the pickups are delano humbuckers in a J style case and east pre. I love the electronics, but you can hear the strap moving through the output, so I guess they are just too rigidly held or undamped or something. Not much room to get any other type of pickup in though

I certainly didn't, or would have shown much interest, even as a lover of theramins, but somehow, I had to sign up for this: https://stylophone.com/theremin-pre-order/

One of my youtube videos of my previous band got blocked once by the publishers of the human leagues music. Which was a bit of a slight as it was actually teenage kicks.

I would love it if they still had the white jazz, or even the black P, but luckily the swimming pool green and turdburst finishes keep me safe! -

Yes. I gig with a similar 5G mono one, to avoid the 2.4 spectrum but never had a problem with these and they were really cheap -
Ibanez SR1605 In common with almost all SRs, it has the slanted jack which is great if you have a straight jack, but a real pain with wireless or right angles. Also the bass body is a bit light so with the standard gotohs it is head heavy. Fixed with ultralight tuners Ibanez 5005 The weight of a small sun, a real pain for a 3 hour gig, and as a result I haven't used it in a while Bongo 5 Headstock hits every wall within 1km. The knobs are very easily turned by the gig bag, so before playing I have to check they are all in the right place or I might not have a speaker cone when I play Maruszczyk l24 elwood As standard the screws were made of cheese. Have replaced them. The stock bridge pickup is not great, but I know that was a choice. Ibanez AGB205 Good acoustically, but plugged in so bassy and lacking sparkle even with new strings Spector Euro 5 Pretty heavy. Ibanez EHB1505 The locking jack (mine doesn't any more). The knobs were cheap on an expensive guitar. The body is really soft and mine got dented easily Shuker uberhorn The pickups are quite microphonic. Doesn't usually matter, but meant I couldn't use the backbeat with it because too much feedback. I probably should get it looked at Squier Mustang CV When I first got it the pickup was microphonic, had to widen the hole in the pickguard to stop that. Ibanez TMB35 Electronics were as cheap as anything, so much so the tone control lead came off. The bridge pickup is a waste of time, very noisy and unshielded. Very head heavy Ibanez SR1000 Pots go scratchy almost immediately and are next to impossible to replace Hohner B2V Mostly dull and lifeless. A bit irritating as I had a 4 string one that wasn't, but it was lacking a string, so I got the 5 string one and it is basically not as good. Both suffered from what is described up there though, can never get the right fret on the neck when starting. Chapman Stick Railboard Heavy, hard to position in your lap for playing without bloodloss, a bit restrictive when standing. Requires a better brain for playing well than mine.

I have the lekato system which I use with the chapman stick and it works for me. I don't have a problem with latency but some people seem to have more problems with it than me -
The relative positioning thing with the hohner B2 (I have one as well) is that if you go to play what you think is the 3rd fret it is actually the 5th, and seems unique to this instrument. The thunderbird has a long neck which you have to reach for more, but you never make that mistake with it.

Probably why my euro 5 has two strap buttons!
