Coronavirus-best bass guitar if you were self isolating
Woodinblack replied to SH73's topic in General Discussion
Honestly. either the chapman stick or the NS Stick - by the time we come out of isolation I might have worked it out! -
Stuff you bought and never used (but still have it)

I must admit I never saw the adverts. They are actually great things, but never had a group that wanted to use them! -

I have a Zoom H2n recording thingy which goes everywhere with me and records everything. Can't say I ever read the manual. I just turned the input to stereo XY, turned it on and press record when I want to go and press it again when I want to stop. Is there any more to it than that? -

I have a Jamhub. Seemed like a good idea at the time, and still does, but I have never used it. Also, I have a Zoom B3n which I have never gigged and only used at one practice, and a Line 6 Helix LT that I have powered up 5 times, once to take pictures of to sell. Probably if I looked in the cupboard there is more than I could ever care to mention! -
How about either a teensy or an axoloti?

the 305 has come in many colours over the years. Most models (except the 505) have. In fact the current lineup has 3 different colours of 305s. Then there is the 375, which there is a current thread on, and the 405, which has a few burst colours.

Gibson just getting weirder and weirder.

Very similar to the size of a 5p -
I did coming back from weymouth on friday as it was very dark with poor visibility on a place with quite a few badgers. We do too - we even have a facebook page for them (started as hedgehogs but they all dissapeared). We have cameras out to watch them - absolutely love the badgers and put up with a bit of damage for it, because what the hell, they were there first. As you say, when the babies turn up it is amazing. Probably can't see this outside of facebook:

You don't want to do that!
-
what kind of crazy talk is that

Aren't the IAP for this (and moogs other things) just presets so it doesn't add functionality. Nothing you can't make yourself.
-
Oh yes, I certainly don't feel cheated, it has been worth what I paid.
-
Think I am fairly convinced on this. When they take the returned column speaker back I will get the TS312S (and a padded cover - why do some of the same shops not offer that?).

Helix LT. Sale or trade for an HX Stomp. I got this from the Guitarist in my band who didn't get on with it, it is about 3 months old, still has the plastic but not box. I had always wanted one but now I have one, it is too big for me to really use that well. At the moment I have too much stuff, so if I am not going to be using it much, I might as well get rid of it - shame but I am trying not to horde. I have a Helix HX for gigging so I thought I could sell this and get a Helix Stomp as a practice tool for my chapman stick, so happy to talk about doing a trade for a helix stomp if you have one and want to upgrade. Happy to take any money that doesn't involve me losing stuff, so F&F paypal or bank transfer, or best still, cash. Pickup from Yeovil, or delivery / meetup somewhere within an hour would be ideal - so Brisol, Bath, Exeter, Poole sort of way, failing that I can look into posting. As I say, I don't have the orignal box.

So how is the sale of another sax to him going?

But I already have that one.. damn

Mine wasn't too bad, new place for us in weymouth (40 minutes away, we don't normally get to travel that far!), tricky place to load in as you can't park but turned out not much traffic and the roadworks meant even less. Small but nicely done stage, small but appreciative audience. Was a bit concerned about doing this because of the virus and all, but it wasn't rammed so that was ok. Everyone else in the band said they really enjoyed it, but for some reason for me it was a little flat. Oh and the singer messed up 3 of the first 5 songs, but luckily me and the drummer were there to correct him on all of them for a change

I have quite a lot of 'its all a bit hazy' gigs I have seen. pretty well all rock acts in the early 80s - Iron maiden several times with Paul Di'anno - they came to Portsmouth a lot at the start of the 80s and it was convenient for my sister to drag me around to them. Then the gigs with Bruce Dickinson (which were night and day better). Festivals from 81-84, reading / glastonbury etc. Black Sabbath with Gillan (hahah) and Dio (and Dio with Dio). Marillon first tour in portsmouth. All laced with about a million Hawkwind gigs (they seemed to be always on). All of these would be good to have remembered well.

They change models a lot, some last a very short time.

Oops, sorry, I really am costing your family a lot of money at the moment aren't I?! 😯 Glad you are liking it. I am slightly partial to an SR myself it has to be said!

No, there are three models - TS212, TS312 and TX212. The TS212S I assume is to go with the TS212 speakers (which I have), and the TX212S I assume goes with the TX212 (which I don't have). I am not sure what the differences between the TX and the TS (other than TS stands for truesonic), but the TX212 and the TS312 are both current, whereas the TS2x is the old model of the TS3x. I think i might go for the TS312S sub (or maybe the TS315?) and maybe later on upgrade my 212's to the 312. Seems you can only get the TS212S second hand anyway now.

The Big Fat South-West Bass Bash - Now Sunday 19th September 2021
Woodinblack replied to scrumpymike's topic in Events
I think by the end of next week it will be apparent how things are going and the answer will be more obvious. If we are truly only 2 weeks behind Italy, then it seems unlikely it will be able to continue, but if for some reason we aren't - who knows. Goes without saying that I am perfectly happy to help with any loss that might happen -
I have no problem with the x18, that bit is like a breath of fresh air, wouldn’t go back to an analogue desk if I could help it. Mics are an interesting one, and vocals have been part of the issue. I have a tc helicon MP76 and my vocals are never a problem. The singer has a pg58 shure and is muffled. My wife (in another group) uses the same (type) mic and she is clear as a bell. We briefly swapped mics at last practice, he had more treble BT not much more clarity. I think he is just muffled
