No, the tube in the ABM is in the preamp, it doesn't know or care what speaker you have connected, which is dealt with by the power amp. If the response you get out of the speaker is different it must be to do with driving the power amp. So no, changing the valve won't do anything.

Bone of contention there, ours is 1-1:15 in the first set and 1:30+ in the second. Personally I think it is too long. At the one that haas to cover 3 hours, we do 44 songs

Luckily we were above the floor, it wasn't so nice at ground level!

It was, on all 3 events. Which is handy as the weather on monday was terrible!

Weird end of the week this weekend. Started off going to a school on thursday night, the school the keyboard player and guitarist went for some kind of charity thing. 8-10, not so badly attended but an odd thing (we had done it before). Set up in a tennis court or something. Then saturday off to a 50th birthday party, well attended, slightly odd as we set up at the doorway of a room, and obviously for the first half of the evening half the audience were behind us here: Would have been a lot better to set up outside, but never mind. We turned one of the Evox 8 tops round and seemed to have a good enough sound. Later on when it was cold they all came in and we turned it back! Then sunday, there was a local Euro Fan Zone. Aparently there was some kind of football competition or something. Anyway, big stage, big but slightly distorting PA, and absolutely no sound man. Really awkward to set the sound up but apparently it sounded fine out the front. Quite a few people singing along to the songs, but then nothing at the end of the song! Got a reaction for I get knocked down, and a half hearted unrehearsed version of 3 lions. Now slightly knackered.

We do You should be dancing going into Does your mother know, and it goes down a storm. We were going to do you should be dancing but we couldn't get the big gap in the middle to sound anything other than a big gap, so instead we go into does your mother know, which we already did. Done it 3 times now and it really is a high point.

I would just keep doing them until he asks in person or has vocal rehursals!

I should mention that actually, it ddoens't mention electric, so I just recently bought a Lava Me Play, which is acoustic+, with a lot of features for a acoustic guitar! https://www.lavamusic.com/lava-me-play

It is wierd, we have added songs that we thought would go down well and they didn't. I wanted to do 'In the end', the ska version, as we do some ska stuff, but the group decided that we would just do the linkin park version, although we weren't convinced it would work well. Turns out, it really goes down well, even with groups of people you really wouldn't expect.

Gibson Firebird VII Assuming I can have whatever I want, as I don't have one.

TBH, apart from Oasis, the things I tend to vito are things that I know that we can't play well, or that none of the singers can sing. There is a tendancy to suggest songs that are well out of the singers range, and I seem to be more realistic about the bands abilities than some, especially the new keyboard player who said the other day when I said it was too complicated that 'we could play anything, don't be negative' - that is untrue, I have been in this band 7 years, and we plainly can't. Anything with tricky timing or iconic solos, not going to work. Also, we have a saxaphone player and we need to remember that.

I don't buy from amazon, and if someone asks for a recomendation for something I will recommend from another shop. But where they buy it from is their business, I choose not to buy from amazon, that is my doing something about it.

You can indeed, but I would suspect you wouldn't be that impressed with the output. If you are feeding both sides of the signal into to identical preamps and then feeding that into two channels of the same power amp, and presumably to two similar speakers, the effect is going to be remarkably the same as just feeding the pre-mixed signal out of a mono output, but with a lot more effort. Its really IMO only worth doing if you are either doing different effects on each channel or putting them through very different amps.

I hate oasis and won't do any of there songs, it hasn't done me much harm over the last few hundred gigs in the last decade. However, if something doesn't work when you are playing it, it doesn't work and it needs to be dropped. We had done a few songs we thought would go down a storm and didn't, so we did them a few times but then dropped them.

Yes, but there are enough songs that people will still like that mean you don't have to do every cliche. I am doing it for fun. Obviously you are going to have songs you are not keen on, but if the balance of enjoyment goes down too much, what is the point - I have a day job.

Honestly exactly 0 football related songs would be my ideal amount. And I said I didn't mind doing it for this gig, but it is a one off (I guess it can be trotted out again if they have one of these competitions again, I guess they must).

Luckily, we are the warm up act, we will be packed up and out of there before the game starts.

We are also playing at a Euro Screening pub on sunday, before some game that is apparently happening (I am not someone know knows or cares about football*) so the keyboard player decided on wednesday to suggest we played that three lions song. I do detest it, but he is probably right that it would go down a storm, but somewhat annoyed about playing a song with no rehursal live, because it will be a car crash, we are not the sort of group that can do that sort of thing * actually not true, I care in a very negative way.

The drummer is in another group, and their group is going to have to not do a venue that he really likes doing, because his singer doesn't feel like it. So he wanted us to do it, but our singer is on holiday then, so we have asked the singer that was in another group if she can do it, she knows most of our set and currently is bandless. We are trying to get a 3 hour set together, so we sent her ours, she sent her last set. I was surprised to see then do 'So What' on her set list, and then a little dissapointed to hear that P!nk also did a version, so it probably wasn't the Anti-Nowhere leagues version!

Thats weird, I am logged into BC on my PC (here), my mac and my iPad, and I don't have to log into any of them unless I go to the admin panel, so you shoulldn't have that issue.

We have played the same things for a while, but recently got a keyboard player which opened stuff up. I think sometimes it is a pain as he will suggest something then the guitarist willl join in and all of a sudden it is a thing that noone else agreed to, and more important noone can sing. We compromised on Call Me 4 semitones down, but not sure how well it goes yet, early days. We have recently added the heat is on and Power of love, which variously work, but the one that was a surprise which I added, then decided it didn't work, then we reworked was You should be dancing - problem is the middle is a bit lost, there isn't much there, so we do the start up to that bit, then speed it up and go straight into does your mother know, and it has gone down a storm each time!

Played a school, a primary school. Its the school the guitarist and keyboard player went to, so they don't get money, we do and it is a charity event. Went well although thursday night is not one where I really want to do gigs, but it was 8-10, so it covers the time we would normally be doing a practice anyway, except they pay instead of us! I bought some wireless microphone wireless link things about a month ago, I took them to a gig that we didn't use and hten they went missing. I spent ages going through *everything* trying to find them and the day before yesterday I contacted a few venues to see if they turned up anywhere. Last night setting up, I couldn't find all my mains leads (almost certainly as the last few gigs other people have put them away) and at the bottom of the bag was a small black box with my wirless senders in it! Could have sworn I looked in there. Anyway, tried, them, huge range, no drop out, the singer loves them.
