Mr Pink - My Level 42 tribute band. Promo video.
Woodinblack replied to doc40hz's topic in General Discussion
I think that is pretty impressive, and I am not bothered either way with level 42. I wouldn't say there was an issue with vocals at all. -

Looks nicer in normal light. I think when they are down to £1k I might be tempted! That was also pretty quick. Sorry again for mentioning it though -

Trust me, the day I went into hospital, I got there at 8, no food, got put in a stupid gown and got labels put on. i sat there until 3pm while one by one everyone went out, until it was me and the reception woman (I was feeling bad for her, she clearly wanted to go home), watching homes under the hammer and other daytime TV, and then I was finally wheeled to theatre. The operation was the best part of the day! And.. it was my birthday. And it has to be said that that knee is one of my favourites now. -
I like gold hardware, but not that much

Weird having your knee done, in that it is done under local anaesthetic (well, an epidural) with sedation, so when you sort of come round, there are a lot of people gathered round you hammering your knee with general tools. You don't feel it of course, but you do feel the force of being pushed into the bed. Still, nice you get to see some of it happening. -
Does it? I guess any latency adds up. Certainly not an issue for my use, it is exclusively used practicing in the house or band practice. Every single thing will add latency, if you add them together they make more. How much is audible depends on what you are playing / listening to.

I had knee replacement surgery 2 weeks and 1 day before a gig. I sat down during the gig and everyone carried all my equipment and set it up. was actually quite a good gig, although not very rock'n'roll! -
Zany and fun would be quite a talent. I have yet to see anyone pull that off. I will take your word that he has talent. Maybe I haven't watched enough of those 'britains got talent' things to know what talent is I have no idea what information he is trying to impart - I can't get past his idea of fun, certainly not entertaining, I really can't stand him. I can't remember any reviews of something where they mention the string spacing?

Oh the playing was fine, the guy who hosted it I cant stand. I saw him in the EHB ibanez headless thread - sadly it is the video with the most information on the EHB, but given by him, so almost 60 seconds of actual info on the EHB is given in his 5 minute video. Yes, his playing is good. I watched it with captions on, pressing the unmute when the guy started playing.

Please tell me why I should avoid getting a Rickenbacker!

There was, when I first looked, a matt black one available at that price too. Seems to have gone now. -

Not worth the hassle of getting it from the states then when there are 2 at just under 2k in the uk. Or should I say, now 1 at just under 2k in the uk? eta - "For all International Orders we ask that you please contact us by email or phone for a Custom Shipping Quote and if the product is available to be shipped to your area." -

Really? I just put in 4003/5 in the search, then selected 'is in the UK' and saw them there. -

Well, if you look on reverb, there are a couple that are new and below £2000 (albeit, by £1!). One thing I don't get. I see the pickups are meant to mirror the inlays on ricks, but all the 4003/5s have dot inlays (which I think look pretty cheap) - seems like it would make more sense if they had the normal inlays? -
Oh that guy again. I really can't tollerate watching him but notice that ibanez have reintroduced the 1605, but in a blue colour, which I am surprised at. Still my favourite bass after all these others.
-
I also almost picked up a burgundy mist one at some point as Gak were kicking them out cheap, but couldn't get with the non maple neck for some reason at the time. Regret it now!

Oh I like the back on that, and it looks like purpleheart stripes, that is nice.

'Gravity' Microphone stands any opinions?
Woodinblack replied to Count Bassy's topic in General Discussion
I wouldn't touch a hercules mic stand if it was given away free, my last one was that, you couldn't do the boom up hard enough for it to not fall down and smash the iPad, the bottom bit worked loose, and in the end when I accidental left it in a pub, I couldn't be bothered to go back for it. -
So, fairly similar to a 1605 or a 1705. 1200 - there is never a 4. The 1x05 is a 5 string, the 1x06 is a 6 string, but for whatever reason, the 4 string is the 1x00!

'Gravity' Microphone stands any opinions?
Woodinblack replied to Count Bassy's topic in General Discussion
I have two and love them. Technically I have one and my wife has one but I am the one that carries it around. Mine is a boom mic one, and hers is a standy up singer one with a clutch control handgrip thing. Haven't had any trouble with them. My last one (a cheap one I got from PMT) slipped on the boom, and the bottom nut the plastic came off the nut. This one is much better, which is nice. I also got a white one as I wanted to be able to find it in the black poles. If I was to get another microphone stand, it would be another gravity. -
Looks great - I would say if you have photos of it being made (or even if you don't), you should post it in the build diaries, people there would be very interested to hear how it went

I know I shouldn't like this but.......

sure you could find someone to pick it up for you! -
Ignoring the colour for now which I am not sure we could agree on - are you really sure that is a classic vibe? I just sold my classic vibe PBass and in common with all other originals they have really yellow stained necks and yellowy cream pickup covers and volume / tone knobs, unless the new ones are different? Also the necks are heavily varnished, rather than matt, unless yours has been modified. I know a lot of people complained about that. Like that one you linked to up there - yours doesn't have that at all, your pickups and knobs are actually whiter than the pick gaurd material.

Well, I am pretty sure that they didn't do a seafoam green in the original classic vibes, and if they did, it is very green. Trouble is that fenders colours change quite a bit. Here is seafoam green: https://www.andertons.co.uk/guitar-dept/electric-guitars/stratocaster/fender-vintera-50s-strat-sea-foam-green And here is sonic blue: https://www.andertons.co.uk/fender-american-performer-mustang-rw-satin-sbl Maybe it is a bad colour cast on the picture looks closer to sonic blue than seafoam green. I always thought sonic blue was green anyway.
