Gibson just getting weirder and weirder.

Really? Never had a Gibson then? -
He is correct on that, an Ibanez requires the ring and sleeve to be shorted to turn the power on, as do 95% of active basses.

Tracking can be a mystery to itself. Probably stuck in Somerset customs with the agents trying to work out yahoo you are supposed to use that on a farm -

Yeh, just watched that. Pretty sad. Would have loved one of those. -

Who is taking the HX effects off their pedal board to put the B3n in its place -
That is pretty poor, but yes, there will be some people who will go for it so they will be able to exploit the situation. I am guessing this is a London thing - with so many groups per venue, they will find someone.

Everyone I know who has gone to see them have been impressed, so it will probably be good. I can't say I could be bothered, but I doubt you are going to be disappointed.
-
I think you are probably right, this is the one I have to order myself! And yes, the way the pound is going at the moment, probably makes sense to order it now.
-
Guess it looks like they are winning. I don't want one that much, the squier will do me if it turns up next year and our currency is worth anything!
-
Yep, someone mentioned that the day after I posted that 4 years ago
-
I don't know - I presume because you allow it, because I wouldn't? If something was in my way I would move it, if there was a complaint about moving it I would point out that there was no room there so they would have to find somewhere else for it. The end of the bass is hard and long and the singer knows very well what it feels like when he collides with it. Plus I need a microphone so I am out at the front. If there wasn't room for me then I wouldn't be playing, and that isn't going to sound very good.

Name that Bassist from Their Sound

I don't think it is necessarily a respect thing, some people have different ideas of how things should be treated. I remember a guy whos speaker I was going through going mental because I had used distortion on a bass VI through his fender cab (at way below its rated level), which would apparently destroy it, because it was designed for a clean guitar sound. It wouldn't do any damage to it at all, but it was his cab, he had the right to it being treated how he wanted. I would have no problem lending people my amp or cabs (maybe not the CTM), as they can't damage each other, but I don't think I would lend someone my bass, their idea of how it should be treated may be different from mine. I certainly wouldn't lend someone any of my main basses for some event when I wasn't in the same place watching.

Had a gig in our regular monthly pub on Friday, and it was the first after we resumed practicing, the guitarist got an evening job so we hadn't had any practices in months, but now he has lost it. This was the first time we were going to do 'feel it still' with me singing. We learned it about 4 months ago but hadn't practiced it since so I was beginning to forget it again. When it came up to doing it we were in all the high energy songs so I was a bit nervous and said to the frontman that we should skip it, but he insisted it would go down well, so we did it and it went down very well. This means that all the songs I sing go down well. If I was more arrogant i would assume that means I am a good singer, luckily I know it is just because they are good songs and people are more tolerant of singing in a live band!

Either way, it's good to know it can be fun!

Played to that amount once. 10 people of whom 5 are engaged are a lot better to perform to than 100 who are ignoring you!

I think the delay makes them pointless advertising them at the moment. Might as well just say they aren't available until next year and build up interest then.
-
I was only talking to them about the mustang. The walnut P still has a next week date on it. I wouldn't have thought that there would be much of a delay on those, I assume the Ps roll out of the production line at all times, so no reason why there should be a delay just for a different colour / wood.

I range Andertons to check. It was UK format, they aren't expecting to be able to get any until around march next year! I cancelled the order, it is a long time so maybe I will look again when they are out.
-
Either way it’s next year when we are in the summer!
-
I would leave it. It makes no difference being like that and there is always a chance of damage doing anything to correct it, so unless you want to show it off and it is really bugging you, leave it be!
-
Maybe they just decided that it isn't worth shipping anything to the UK until we have sorted brexit out!
-

By jack out to their backline amp, which I assume was DI'd.
