  1. For me on the Strat it was the slight yellowing of the pick guard and pickups
  2. I almost bought a sherwood green classic vibe strat, it was pretty tempting, I also have never been a fan of the colour before but it looked right
  3. He is listed as the bass player on their facebook page, there was a video of him in june saying they were gigging that week, he is in all their publicity photos and there isn't anything that says he has left. So it would seem he is still there.
  4. I am jealous that that is the smallest area you have played in! I would love that, so much better than screaming something at you mid song! and on a second thought - A mid 20s woman wanted a BBKing song?? 😮
  5. That would be stupid, that is the couriers job! That seems the immediate obvious thing. There have been loads of basses I would have bought if they were closer or offered courier, and if I could be bothered to post, a lot of things I still have I wouldn't by now!
  6. Not a problem for me, I have an amp so don't really feel the need to have a sim..
  7. I like the artcore basses, I wanted one of the hollow weathered 5 string ones, but they are not very common and don't seem to be many around. I think they are all short scale, 30.3"
  8. Yes, its an Ibanez ARTB100 arcore bass. In Cream
  9. Or stop him getting close to you?
  10. Actually I suspect that I meant more switches (its a while since I wrote that). But I do have more than 6 blocks in use, in my standard patch (I have 8, although rarely all at the same time) so even if it did have more buttons I couldn't use that. I couldn't use it the way I use it comfortably with less than 6 buttons (plus tuner), so any size bonus of the stomp is cancelled out by the fact I have to have aanother set of pedals, and then connect that and power it.
  11. I guess we all see different things and as you said, you like him. I was never bothered about him either way and I think it was the most lifeless johnny b goode I have seen since there was a group of 16 year olds busking it outside our local record shop a few years ago. And I think if I was on a stage with Imelda May I think I would have probably let her sing! Was it foals the beardy hipster group there? I had heard them before but not been impressed, but they seemed pretty good on that, I would certainly listen again. Didn't like the The violin woman I thought was going to be bad, but I was playing the piano at the time and joined in and it was enjoyable so I guess she was ok! Lewis Capaldi was a bit bank / christmas advert for me. The girl singer group, I didn't like their song much but I loved their actual sound, especially the sound of her strat.
  12. I see the restriction, but still want one on the basis that I am sure it can be ripped apart when the battery goes, but still need to find out if it works on an Ibanez sr bass, as without that it is useless to me!
  13. I think that looks lovely. A tort guide would be a crime against nature, but some people like to see the world burn! Love that neck.
  14. Well, I also bought a guitar this year, a 1978 Gibson the Paul, and for that matter a chapman stick, but I can read the title!
  15. We do Johnny B Goode occasionally, and we aren't that great a band, but ours is better than that
  16. Excellent, that is what I was looking for but not what I got
  17. Easy to get the notes, but getting the bounce of the video is pretty hard!
  18. Assuming the same place as last time (and the time before), The Memorial Hall TA2 8JY just outside Cheddon Fitzpaine village
  19. I sold it last year, might have even bought it the year before. I bought the SR2605 this year, but I am not sure I have really bonded with it. I certainly don't regret getting it and it is great, but I am still reaching for the 1605 when I go out. I think the problem is that it is more expensive and shiny and I don't want to risk it at some of the dodgy pubs I go to, and scratch it! But most of my purchases this year were not really bass related. Its odd isn't it, they have become hard to get, which is a shame, this is a real winner of a pedal.
  20. Honestly, when it comes to specific bass gear, I don't think there was really a bad one. Obviously somethings must be worst if something is best, but I can't think what. Best I would think would be the Boss SY-1, although I might need a few weeks, I am currently veering towards the new BC bass cab being the best now, but need to do a full gig with it, which will be the weekend after next (in fact, 3 gigs)
  21. Thats what I like about it. When I am gigging, I have 6 bright buttons with clear names which are the same as having 6 effects pedals, except that some of them do multiple things. Seeing as we are the most unorganised band on the planet, I don't always know what the next track is until it is about to start (or annoyingly occasionally, just after it has started), I am not sure I could do it with whole patches.
  22. Teenage kicks. In fact a lot from that period, but teenage kicks is one of those songs that many bands do (many many bands), and any beginning band can easily master, so it is a good start.
  23. You can just buy a good condition squier affinity off ebay for £30 and use the body from that instead.
  24. @scrumpymike - Have you looked into the security arrangements for @BreadBin and @Frank Blank?
  25. If there is less cone travel there is less heat, so that isn't going to be an issue
