Band joining/leaving shenanigans. Update - The Decision...

Just because he eats peoples hands doesn't make him weird. Oh hang on, I might be mixing up realities here... -
Oh that is going to be nice!

I did - a friend of mine that I had been in a couple of bands and been involved in music a lot, but no actually qualifications in that way. I gave youtube and facebook group page.

Take the gig, see how it goes but keep an eye out for something else. -
Not if it is a valve stereo system!

I have an old EB and the sound it made was great. It just had a string spacing that was too large for me and coupled with an ugliness that I couldn't bear as I am terribly shallow, it was not to be. However, I think the newer ones get round the ugliness, but swap it for looking a bit meh. I guess meh is easier to live with than ugh, so if the string spacing is fine with you it is probably a very good bass.

No Because: There are only two ways to wire two speakers. In parallel or in series. In series the total resistance is = R1 + R2 - if these speakers are the same that is 2 x R. in parallel the total resistance is total = 1 / (1 / R1 + 1/R2) - if the speakers are the same that is R / 2 So if they are wired in series, the individual speakers would have to be half the total resistance, so 2 x 4 ohm speakers, so rewiring them in parallel would give you a 2 ohm output. If they were wired in parallel they would need to be double the total, so 2 x 16 ohm speakers, so wiring them in series would give you a 32 ohm output. I am guessing the former.

Did they actually say no then?

Oh well, fancy that, I got a reply saying it was successful. Hey get that, I am a musician If I can get that done, anyone can.

Wow, you lot are so organised and neat. I take the mixer out of the case, connect power, iem leads and WiFi and then everyone else plugs all their stuff in! i have a couple of base snapshots for normal rooms and some of the more challenging ones

They are showing as still in stock for the 1505MS, 1505, 1005 and 1005MS
-
I was tempted to order, but I really want to try it first. I find it very odd that GAK have them in stock, whereas all the other companies are showing stock not due until the end of Feb or the beginning of March. Very odd, as in I don't believe it.

I have a TC RH450 and a Ashdown CTM100. The 450 does 95% of the gigs but the CTM does the occasional one when I can find the space in the car to take it out. The CTM does sound very nice for a lot of things.

I don't use a laptop, and we don't have the luxury of a FoH person, so I have to do it all, which isn't ideal. I use an iPad, and although I use the mixing station app, I still use the X18 app in times of panic, probably because i find the layout more familiar. Certainly easier to setup the compressors etc on mixing station. Actually I do take a laptop occasionally, I have an old macbook air that I use when I want to record stuff, generally just straight into garage band (remembering where the record enable is!). Seeing as I also use my iPad for synths and occasional lyrics, it can get a bit multitasking some times! Me, the singer and the drummer are in ear, the guitarist isn't. I didn't actually use a separate wifi router for the first year of having it until I ran into trouble, its uncommon it happens, but when it does you will know about it. I just use a cheap router that is actually smaller than a mains plug. Mine is actually the X18, as it was £100 cheaper when I originally upgraded from the XR16, although now it is the same. Functionally there isn't any difference apart from an additional phono output. The only thing you can really do is spend time with it - some things are obvious, some things less so, especially routing of effects and effect channels, but familiarity helps with all these things. They are amazing devices, although I did a gig once with a X32 and was rather impresses with that (although not the screen!)

Not surprised, not going to get much heft with them! -
Are you saying that if you had a class D amp all that time, noone would have danced or had a good time?
-
We have had that. But luckily they do it at the interval.

What are you listening to right now?
