  1. No, probably a long way from that. I have two, one is the newer plastic one, one is the original wood one. The plastic one I bought new (B-Stock) not too long ago, which would have been the third edition, but the one that went wrong is the original V1 wooden one, I got that second hand three years ago!
  2. Not last night but today, I set up my two Evox 8 speakers, then thought I would play some music on them while we were setting up, one side not working, had a look, no lights.. hmm, maybe the power at that side of the stage not good, no, the guitarists pedalboard from the same power strip is on. Get another power lead, still nothing, plug it into another socket, still nothing. No time to get home to get another speaker, and doesn't look promising, one evox 8 at an open air gig isn't going to do much, The drummer and guitarist were looking at it while I was checking something else and found when it rocked forward the power went on and back it went off. so we moved it so it was on a level paving slab, and it seemed to stay on. Went for it and it survived the gig, but that is this weeks investigation started!
  3. We did an speaker shootout at one of the bass bashes, they all sounded very similar apart from the MarkBass which was so heavily tuned.
  4. The packaging on these looked spot on. I complained, eBay refunded me, but seems odd really to fake strings, they have actually seemed just like normal strings, if they are fake they are pretty good.
  5. As like mine on the previous page and pretty well every post of that tour!
  6. Last time I bought some strings (not amazon, ebay), i put the number in and it said they were already registered.
  7. Yeh, would love one of those.
  8. There are quite a few L2000s, wouldn't call them rare at all. an M2000/2500, now they are rare I am sure all these basses are common compared to chapman sticks!
  9. Would love to get another japanese Rick copy but they are so stupidly priced everywhere you see them these days. The one I got stolen cost me £25 in 1981, so at the time just slightly less than a standard boss effect pedal.
  10. So I assume you are going to play them left handed for authenticity?
  11. I am currently leaning on one. Well, its under my seat until i find somewhere else for it to be. Not new though, and they don't come up used often. Its a small. Small is actually pretty big in your living room!
  12. I still miss my Ibbenbacker that got stolen from me about 40 odd years ago.
  13. Or stand on a bassboard and really feel it!
  14. It does in some things. If you went to a Rock or metal gig, you would expect to see a whole load of marshals along the back, even if they weren't being used. Otherwise it just looked wrong. In other groups, it is probably less important, or you don't even notice.
  15. Well, yes they are, which is why i have something acting like a preamp, or basically an imperfect amplifier. I don't either, I generally play through my big headphones, or sometimes with an amp, but when I am playing at home I am not competing with any other musicians.
  16. I am not sure how it is a compromise? I would think it would give you more control over your sound. Honestly I can hear my low end so much better on IEMs than I ever could live, I am really enjoying it. I can have a mix which is just the things I want to hear without having to compromise on listening to some guitarist flat out - I want to hear me, I want to hear vocals, I want to hear the drums, I can hear the guitars but nowhere near as loud as they are compared to everything else live. I have seen them in a couple of places but in general most don't.
  17. And I see them on both firefox and chrome on the Mac.
  18. I see the dl=1 images on firefox on the PC, I see big broken squares on the mac on safari.
  19. I noticed when looking that if you copy the link it downloads the image, rather than showing the image. A quick google tells me that if you change the download thing in dropbox from download to share, it might work, and if you take your link and change the end dl=1 to dl=0 it means you can see the image, maybe that is true, although it has a banner above saying 'someone shared this with you', so I don't know if that will intefere with it. But it seems to be based on the shared settings anyway..
  20. I have the MVave/Lekato cube turner and it is good, but I tend to use the MVave Chocolate now, battery good, but 4 buttons, so page up / down, song back / next using onsong
  21. Seems to come back the same for me in both spellings. Obviously our google search is tailored by our previous searches, maybe you were installing outdoor lighting?
  22. I guess you use a different method than me then, I just typed 'what is gaslighting' in google, the AI thing at the top described it, the top link was wikipedia that covered both lighting with gas and the gaslighting in question, the second was the national domestic violence hotline, the third another medical thing and the following 10 links were about gaslighting as an abuse. Maybe time to update your search method? I suppose we all have different levels of curiosity, but I do find it odd that someone would find a term they didn't understand and then not look it up using the vast and almost instantaneous access to information that no previous generation has had such easy access to.
  23. Well, I do as if I find a term that I don't understand I use the internet to find out what it means.
  24. Is that straight from the USB?
  25. Steve wilson last night in Bristol. Preface with saying I wasn't so keen on his current album and I am aware this is a tour for that album so hes going to play that and I am probably nnot going to like it more. he did, and I didn't. However the second half had a lot of the older stuff (where older is the previous album back) and a lot of that I really enjoyed, only tempered slightly by people in front of us who obviously had to shout louder as the band were interrupting their conversation. I think venues should have dedicated areas for people who want to have a conversation instead of watching the band they came to see. Nick Beggs is obviously happy to get his Wal 2 pro back, he played that most of the night and seemed to be enjoying himself on it. On the parts where it was just him and drums, the bass did sound pretty good, rather growly. Sound was pretty good apart from maybe a bit too bass heavy as it was vibrating a bit much. Still great day out, great meal before, and I made a point of parking on the exit floor of the car park as last time I was there I was on the 8th (exit on the 2nd) and it took about half an hour to get out!
