Had a gig in our regular monthly pub on Friday, and it was the first after we resumed practicing, the guitarist got an evening job so we hadn't had any practices in months, but now he has lost it. This was the first time we were going to do 'feel it still' with me singing. We learned it about 4 months ago but hadn't practiced it since so I was beginning to forget it again. When it came up to doing it we were in all the high energy songs so I was a bit nervous and said to the frontman that we should skip it, but he insisted it would go down well, so we did it and it went down very well. This means that all the songs I sing go down well. If I was more arrogant i would assume that means I am a good singer, luckily I know it is just because they are good songs and people are more tolerant of singing in a live band!

Either way, it's good to know it can be fun!

Played to that amount once. 10 people of whom 5 are engaged are a lot better to perform to than 100 who are ignoring you!

I think the delay makes them pointless advertising them at the moment. Might as well just say they aren't available until next year and build up interest then.

I was only talking to them about the mustang. The walnut P still has a next week date on it. I wouldn't have thought that there would be much of a delay on those, I assume the Ps roll out of the production line at all times, so no reason why there should be a delay just for a different colour / wood.

I range Andertons to check. It was UK format, they aren't expecting to be able to get any until around march next year! I cancelled the order, it is a long time so maybe I will look again when they are out.

Either way it’s next year when we are in the summer!

I would leave it. It makes no difference being like that and there is always a chance of damage doing anything to correct it, so unless you want to show it off and it is really bugging you, leave it be!

Maybe they just decided that it isn't worth shipping anything to the UK until we have sorted brexit out!

Not one bad gig - everyone gets those, but when you get a lot of bad gigs in a row when you were a bit down to start with, that is when it can start to fall apart

I have an MiBass 220 - I guess it is different than the 500 then as it doesn't sound great. In fact as it has sat in my room in a corner for a few years, I probably should sell it!

Yeh, in the 80s when you went to a pub and there was a group playing, it tended to be all originals with maybe a cover of something in the same style thrown in.

I get that, I have bought loads of fancy basses, but ultimately the ones that get played are the SRs. Just get any of the premier SRs in whatever woods you like and you will find they are pretty similar.

The 2605 is sort of like a different range in a way, along with the 2405, sort of like the newer ones. However there isn't much difference apart from the neck, and it plays similar to the 1605 that it sort of shares the base wood with. Other than it is heavier (but nothing like the 5005)

Even if I know everything about the item, I usually try come up with a relevant question to ask someone before I buy something of value, just because I am more interested in the response, rather than the answer to the question. If they can't be bothered to answer before I give them money, what chance do I have dealing with them once they have my money?

See if you can get a premium, the older prestige's have the bart pickups (although I love my sr1000, the pickups are better on the 1605/2605, and the current prestige's are more than 500 / 600. the 500s are good (I had one) although not hugely exciting, I don't know the 900 but would expect it to be better. However if you can find a 4 digit one, go for that

Yeh, I leave the house at 7:30 / 8:00, drive to the venue, normally park outside, dump the stuff, set it up, we start at 9 or 9:30, play until 11:30 / 12 or so, load back in the car, home before 1, cash in the drawer

For the money I will just hire a roadie to do it for me! I just tried the HX now on its own in my room and as loud as I turn it up I am not getting the same thing at all. So no idea what it is, but it seems to be something related to there. Irritating though.

I didn't even think of the 9 month interest free, but that makes sense as one thing we can guarantee is that our money will be worth less in the future! It also occurs to me that I have a sheet of parchment black white pickguard material in the corner, maybe I will make one of those. -- a few hours later ok, looks like I need to dig out that scratchplate then, it is on the way!

The guy on the board was far from an idiot - he was friendly and helpful and got a really good sound. The original source was Bass -> smooth hound -> Digitech Jam Man -> HX Effects -> their backline amp -> DI & ashdown speaker. I took them all out one by one until the final thing was just going from my bass to the backline, and then it was fine, so it was certainly the helix. If I had had any sense I would have just turned the helix off first to see if it was that, but you know what it is like when you are panicking. I didn't even try bypassing it, because I assumed it was wireless of power supply for the jam man. Anyway, I will look at it today as I have the day off.

I was like pink noise I suppose. It wasnt there when there was anything from the bass. Going to try it today
