Should i fill my Speaker cab up with foam or something similar?
Woodinblack replied to operative451's topic in Amps and Cabs
If its big enough you could fill it up with those squashy balls, and have a sort of play ball pit, as well as a speaker! -
Its not a code, its just that price if you have a helix device registered to your account. I am going to pick that up when I remember. In which case I won't need to bring my helix HX effects in, as I will have the full helix here!

Ibanez SR300 - Battery required.....?
Woodinblack replied to Absolute Beginner's topic in General Discussion
Agree with this - rechargables have lower voltages to start with and most active basses take no power. Generally speaking replacing a battery is more likely just because it is old than it has run out. In fact, on my old SR1000 prestige, the batteries seem to last longer than the pots. -
I can understand with Helix and Lt, in that they both have large screens and a lot of buttons - frankly they are easy enough to edit (probably less so on rack), but the stomp doesn't have much real estate. However, I wouldn't say that is the reason for selling them - people change things, sometimes you buy something and it doesn't work out, sometimes it makes you realise you want something different. Well, sometimes there are no more posts to read on a forum so you got to look at some other software!

Your understanding is very wrong then unless you mean just in a a way to access the presets. HX Native = Full helix on a computer. HX Edit = patch editor for HX style effects pedals Are you saying you didn't use HX edit when you had your stomp? I assumed it was the first thing you would do, I can't imagine editing on the stomp itself with its little screen

Ibanez SR300 - Battery required.....?
Woodinblack replied to Absolute Beginner's topic in General Discussion
Virtually all SRs / ATKs and BTBs are - there are some other series that aren't such as the artcores and the new smaller ones. I had a iceman bass that wasn't (until I fixed that), and there are some older ones too. -
I heard it from my garden, sounded ok!

An excelent song, we introduced it and now its normally in our last or near last closing songs, never fails to go down a storm. And I don't see anything wrong with the lyrics either, it is an underage girl coming on to an adult man, and him rebuffing her, which is lets face it, what is supposed to happen. Clair by Gilbert O'Sullivan is an interesting one, which I happened to be reading about recently as I was listening to it* and thought these lyrics sound a bit dodgy, but there is a lot about it on the net, there was a real Clair, and it was a story about him and her and there was nothing dodgy about it. Both of these songs are at the risk of an understandable but very unfortunate backlash against relationships between adult men and young girls that are very important for healthy development for girls. Unfortunately because the risk of abuse (and alarming incidence of it), the pendulum can sometimes swing too far and make innocent relationships seem dodgy. I mean I wouldn't do Clair as a song because it is a god awful song, but the lyrics would seem dodgy now. * because 'alone again, naturally' came on and I realised how dark the lyrics were. Sing something in a gentle way and noone notices.

Did a gig on friday at a local nightclub that is not that busy in the evening but they have bands on. It was pretty quiet when we got there, but there is also a local music festival on so we weren't expecting much. And the pay is ok and they are short (for us) sets of an hour each. However, a few friends dropped by at the start and after about half an hour some people started turning up and the small audience were at least pretty responsive. And as it turned out, that dispite any practice for ages, the first set went really well. Second half there were a few mistakes, and then we played 'impression I get' and turned out, I completely forgot how it went, or how to play it. I floundered around with root notes while I searched my brain, then my ipad, for a clue, both were unhelpful. Root notes don't really work for ska! Then for the last verse my brain finally caught up and said 'oh that song' and it all came flooding back. But that put me on edge for the rest of the second half. Then for the end, I was still playing the guild that I had switched to, as there weren't any songs that needed a 5 string, we were going to play a song at the end and the guitarist decided to play a different song, but somehow didn't feel the need to tell me, which is a shame as it needs a bass, and also I need a 5 string bass to play it. Luckily I can swap quickly but had to start again and that looks awful. So yeh, mostly ok, but those two threw it a bit for me. On the plus side, new management there who pay right away, the last management paid later by bank account (being the only people we have had that with), and took 2 months to pay! Today we are supposed to have a gig in a local pub, but turns out that local pub is closed, their phones are disconnected, and rumours are that the landlord/landlady have had a bit of a falling out. I guess I will go off shopping instead!

Not usually, always, its a legal requirement! My macbooks have always been refurbs. My current one I had to get after getting a work retina macbook and it being hard going back to the old one. I would also say contrary to some of this advice, processor really isn't that important. They are all pretty fast and the only time you can see the speed difference is if you have them next to each other.

So just apply anyway - if they are not interested you haven't lost anything. But you never know. -

I don't understand most of that as I am not in management and have expended considerable energy to keep it that way, but I know what that is. And its P, unless you have a variety of noodles and want to sub categorise. -

Me - I know some people who would be expert at solving problems in unhealthy and impractical ways. In fact, at my last job the whole company was geared to that. And I am not joking! -
That depends - if you get £2400 for it when you sell it, is that better than if you could only sell it for £2000 somewhere else?
-
Yeh, generally around 700, but they don't have that nice roasted neck - and also don't come in any of the great colours she has!
-
I have had that many times - although split the saving? Its not him doing anything wrong, why does he need a cut! But I think its wrong, you are using their service for something you would only get by being there, and also you could be kicked out of your account. Its people doing that that makes eBay so tricky to use, with all the restrictions.

Remembering it is quite low impedance so it wouldn't be a lot of noise like running from a passive bass to an amp for instance. So you would have to be on quite a big stage before it really became an issue. I looked into the idea of a bass of that and did some drawings, but the body on the St Vincent is actually pretty long, so I wasn't sure it would work - On the plus side its really easy to draw!
-
Agreed - I didn't know anyone apart from a few people I had heard mention (who turned out to be the least interesting). Its unfair to say that nothing was good, there were some groups I was very impressed by although my memory is a bit rubbish and I either can't remember who they were, or didn't know in the first place. I do think it is a good idea, thats for sure, even if it is a little chaotic.
-
Nah, they are easy to get if you are very well off.. or I guess St Vincent - she seems to have a few spare. Would certainly like one if they turned up cheap!
-
Thats different from a cash sale though. Even for cash I am still paying the same fees (especially as ebay don't own paypal any more). I have always insisted on paypal for postage (or other methods) but cash only for collection, and I remember last time I looked the only time you were allowed to mention cash payments was for collection. There is obviously nothing to stop you charging a huge amount for shipping and paypal, and free for cash for collection.

I went there a few years ago, some stuff was ok but not really much that grabbed me. I saw the men that will not be blamed for nothing supporting someone a few years ago and they were good.
