the bottom bit? how can you miss that out? you mean the: G|————-—19———--—19--—| D|-—17———-—-16—-———--| A|————0———0———0—---0—| E|—————————————-----—| part? (sometimes with fewer open notes). Surely there is a whole part missing if you leave the A out, and as it is open it is pretty easy to do considering how far you have just dashed across the neck to get there. But now you mentioned it, I went and looked at the tab sites (that I have not done for that song before) and sure enough, its not there. And then some of the youtube tracks too are wrong, which are odd because it is easy to see him playing it in some of the videos.

Don't want to fork out for a Helix? Check out these alternatives...
Woodinblack replied to Al Krow's topic in Effects
Yep more copying, but in some ways they have theirselves to blame. If you are are having your products assembled in china as it is cheaper, there is a pretty good chance that they are going to be copying it, you know that. And if they are the people making it, their copies are going to be as good as yours. This is a guess, I don't know where the EHX pedals are made but would be impressed if they were actually made in America. China will do what every country did. Aggressively copy everything until all of a sudden you are making better stuff than other people, and then start getting really serious about IP protection. -

I am guessing it is a direct copy of something: https://www.gearnews.com/electro-harmonix-wins-copyright-piracy-case-against-mooer/ -
We play the version from the album, as that is what I am used to, although the crowd seem to expect the single and start singing the alright now after the solo. They used to complain that I didn't play in the verse as it sounded too quiet. But I don't anyway, sounds wrong to me. I sit there glaring at my 17th fret, daring it to try and get away from my finger later.

Whats the most ridiculous thing you have been asked for on stage?

Ours wasn't very good (one rehearsal) but it was good enough to amuse the crowd. And the guy got dragged off by a very annoyed and loud girlfriend. -

We just had the one fight in a pub, a bit of a minor thing, one guy too drunk wanting to take anyone out. We launched into Saturday nights alright for fighting. It wasn't even gig ready then but seemed appropriate -
I think I have been pretty lucky, never had any trouble ordering from Andertons, PMT, Gear4Music or AbsoluteMusic. Andertons I have sent one thing back, just because it didn't like it enough, and cancelled one thing that they didn't have in stock because I found it in stock and they have dealt with it well. For some reason I don't really trust Gak, but not sure why. Thomman is good but more of a delay and obviously the prices not as good as they used to be back 2 years ago, hardly their fault. Gear4Music have dissapointed a few times, like they were the only group to have a Behringer pm2 when I wanted one, I added it to my cart, it was around £24, the shipping (general shipping not next day) was £17. I took it out of my cart!

Tina Weymouth BBC bass programme in Jan

Really should, I would watch that I went round to the singer in my bands house yesterday to drop something off and his inlaws where there, while my wife was explaining how to use something we had dropped off her dad said that he had seen the bass program and it was really good, and the program after it. He isn't a bass player. -

Lucky I have never been to one of those, I wouldn't know what a catholic song was! -

Why Jaco? Why is he relevant from a public point of view? I know of his existence because of bass forums etc, but in general it has no relevance to me. Chris Squire, also for general public or mainstream bass, not that relevant (although you could says that about Tina Weymouth too), John Entwistle had his picture up a few times. As for the other criticisms, Bootsy specifically mentioned getting a Fender Jazz, the P was mentioned a few times. I think it did what it was advertised as, a history of bass, not the bass guitar. As the BBC announcer beforehand said "Now with bass heros such as Bootsy Collins and Nile Rodgers", I am not sure what you could expect! -
Valves are voltage amplifiers, unlike transistors, that are current amplifiers. What this means in practice, that when you take a small signal of a bass and amplify it a lot with transistors, you end up with a low voltage and a hell of a lot of current, which is luckily what you need to put in a speaker. With valves on the other hand, you end up with not much current and a very high voltage, which is not what you can put in a speaker, so you need an output transformer to take it down to the sort of voltage and current you can put in a speaker, which obviously has to handle the full current of the output you want (and get rid of the heat). As you need a transformer to get the power for the amplifier in the first place it means you need two large transformers in a valve amp, which by their very nature are pretty heavy. And then you obviously are going to need a big bit of metal to mount them on.

Tina Weymouth BBC bass programme in Jan
Woodinblack replied to arthurhenry's topic in General Discussion
I thought it was ok. There were quite a lot of things left out, but it was just an hour so there is a limit of what you could get in. Of all the criticism you could aim at it, at least it was a program about the bass, so that is good. -
The control layout is horrible, for the same reason it is horrible on a fedora. I have nothing against gold on gold though, thats just down to choice, I can see it working, but then I don't really like gold basses. As to whether they will sell many, that is hard to say, people buy all sorts of weird stuff.

Most companies are like that though. Apart from fender. I got a fender vapouriser, and asked fender for the circuit diagram of it and they sent it to me, which impressed me. Mind you, that is a valve design, I doubt they would do it for something more modern.

Have you checked the battery? If its not that then a wire has come off the battery probably. On a normal G&L 2500 and a decent amp, it is very hard to tell the difference between passive and active (active with treble boost is more noticable).

I don't know how good a song it is really, but it goes down very well, a lot of women dance to it, and it is fun to do. Which works for me. -

I would assume that the potential for conflict is proportional to the amount of people in the band. There were a lot of them. -

I took one for the team, I looked at a live video. There were a lot of violins, but no tromboner in sight
