  1. Weird the neck dive thing - I really don't have it. I have had worse neck dive on a P bass, which is odd as I assume all the epiphone neck throughs are the same? The only thing I have a problem with mine (apart from the reason I am selling it, the 4 stringness of it) is that it is a bit of a singer killer with the long neck.
  2. I think it is a good idea to get that out and up front. If they are not interested then it wasn't your group anyway. Some groups are very open to ideas and some aren't. If they aren't interested in your point of view then they probably will never be so good to bail. I am in two groups, I still feel like the new guy in the band I have been with for 3 years, but fully integrated into the one I joined a few months ago.
  3. As long as you get one of the neck through ones, and it fits you, they are great. I have one (that I am selling) and it works on me, but I took it to some guy locally who was interested in buying it, and it is true to say, it looked very odd on him. He was considerably bigger than me! The necks are very long, and very thin. If you don't like that you won't be happy. Its true they aren't good for ska. But plug it in loud for a rock song and everything is perfect.
  4. She got there too and stayed at their house until her mum got in contact and got her sent back. and then she went back the following year. She is somewhat determined when she gets going.
  5. Yep. I certainly would not have an issue with a poplar bass.
  6. When my wife was 15 she hitchhiked across America to California to see them. From Montreal.
  7. Agree, someone up on stage who switches from ash to poplar bodied bass, noone in the crowd will notice the difference. I was actually just looking at the Squier classic vibes at the moment. I wish they had some other colours!

  9. Seeing as I would never watch that I wouldn't know, but which MJ does she look like?
  10. Yep, I had it here, just looking round if anyone else had, first time I saw anything like that.
  11. I would say he sounded better than that when I last saw them. Maybe he got better with time. He still does the stupid theatricals though that I could do without.
  12. Fair enough. Steve Wilson is my idea of Prog, and for me builds on the shoulders of Genesis and Yes. Don't get me wrong, I loved them, they were the foundations of everything but I need something a bit fresher. Although obviously Steven Wilson / porcupine tree do kind of love their 12 strings, flutes and melatrons! Spocks beard I find very variable, but some albums / tracks I love and some leave me cold. I suppose like Genesis (not so much Yes).
  13. That guy on the ebay advert is going to feel so stupid when he realises that he put the decimal point two spaces to the right!
  14. Oh I wouldn’t listen to dream theatre, I wouldn’t actually consider that prog rock, that’s more metal. Steve Wilson though, or before that porcupine tree, would see him over any genesis incarnation any day. Older stocks beard too. Even considering trick of the tail is my favourite album ever.
  15. I will have my TC112s too - they are the only speakers I have! But anyone elses are probably tidier than mine.
  16. Yeh, there are loads of people with those opinions. They did pave the way for some of the stuff we get now, which is great. It was good at the time, but just like rock coming from the beatles, you can appreciate the origins without having to listen to the same 30 songs for your entire life. Its why it is so hard to do something interesting in prog.
  17. Will see anything with Beggs in anyway. Seems the music box are popular here. Maybe it is because I was never an 'old' genesis fan, I am a 'Rating everything from trick of the tail downwards' sort of guy, so they didn't move me at all. I must admit as a prog guy I have a bit of a problem in that most people I know who want to do prog just want to rehash genesis stuff (or yes). Sure I like them but that was 40-50 years ago and there has been a lot of decent stuff since then
  18. I saw the musical box last year. They are very authentic I suppose, using the right instruments etc, but for me I much preferred Hacket, even with the creepy uncle!
  19. Must admit I am not that much of a fan of that, but I can ignore it
  20. That is a rather nice bass. Still wouldn't mind one of those, but I don't think it is going to happen any time soon!
  21. Looking forward to it! The last gig I went to see of his was excellent. OK, selling england isn't an album I like that much, but it should be great
  22. I wear a watch and a wedding ring, neither get in the way although I used to slide the ring on the edge of the neck, but doesn't seem to happen any more. I only recently started wearing a watch again, which is why I can say it doesn't make a difference.
  23. If you hover over my name you can select 'message' and send me a message.
  24. Certainly be interested on what something like that sounds like
