Is that saying $99 for helix native? Oh, doesn't apply to me as I don't have proof of purchase. Oh well!

Collection only! Much too big to ship

Might be worth an offer! -
I use the DC8 and have for a good year or so, powers my B3, my smoothhound (that don't play nicely together) and a host of other occasionally changing pedals. Never had any trouble with it.

When do flaws/fades/wear/chips in a finish become mojo
Woodinblack replied to Cuzzie's topic in Bass Guitars
I don't think there is a point is there? Some basses with a lot of damage look good, and some look bad. Some chips add character and some look like damage, so like anything asthetic, some of it is good and some of it is bad. Which is why it is hard to do a 'roadworn' bass well, one persons mojo is another persons damage. -

I often play like that. Sadly doesn't make me sound like him though! -

I do like the look of that - mostly the size, which is the thing I have the problem with for the Helix. The Full and LT are too big, and the stomp is too small to have enough control. Would be interesting in seeing wehre that goes -
While agreeing that JMB can be a bit of a nightmare, the band before last I joined after replying to a JMB advert, and when that one was crumbling after a few years, I put an advert in JMB and was contacted by 3 bands, and joined one from that that I am still in 3 years later, so I am glad that it exists. I have none in this either, but it worked for me. And it is a small town.

In general I would agree, it seems a really vague way of meeting people, they just send an email with 'people in your area' where your area is nowhere near you. I would say it was completely useless, but I did meet one person through it that contacted me. Didn't make a group but he is a friend, so thats ok.

`I am sure you could do it well with that equipment. Our guitarist has a 57 LP and an orange amp. It doesn't sound the same (although to be fair, it is one of his strongest solos). I am not slavish but fool for your loving is one of those that I would play mostly like the record, because I enjoy playing it. I tricked myself into playing it, some asked me to do it and I thought 'pfft, its whitesnake, how hard could it be', then I listened and had a bit of a panic Then I learned it and they decided not to do it, but i still play it quite often as an exercise piece.

Yes, that one, simple song mostly but timing is everything. And during the solo there is a completely opposite bass solo going on at the same time, which I enjoy.

Yeh - thats just because I put it in. I went and looked and they were missing it. Reminds me we were doing a gig somewhere and there was a guy in the audience from another local band (was their drummer but also plays bass himself). Afterwards congratulated me on good playing, saying he was impressed that I had put that fill in before the solo in 'Are you going my way' because he hadn't heard another band do that. I was surprised at that because it is an obvious feature of the song and basically tells the guitarist that it is time for the solo (which matters if yours is as good as counting as ours!).
-
the bottom bit? how can you miss that out? you mean the: G|————-—19———--—19--—| D|-—17———-—-16—-———--| A|————0———0———0—---0—| E|—————————————-----—| part? (sometimes with fewer open notes). Surely there is a whole part missing if you leave the A out, and as it is open it is pretty easy to do considering how far you have just dashed across the neck to get there. But now you mentioned it, I went and looked at the tab sites (that I have not done for that song before) and sure enough, its not there. And then some of the youtube tracks too are wrong, which are odd because it is easy to see him playing it in some of the videos.

Yep more copying, but in some ways they have theirselves to blame. If you are are having your products assembled in china as it is cheaper, there is a pretty good chance that they are going to be copying it, you know that. And if they are the people making it, their copies are going to be as good as yours. This is a guess, I don't know where the EHX pedals are made but would be impressed if they were actually made in America. China will do what every country did. Aggressively copy everything until all of a sudden you are making better stuff than other people, and then start getting really serious about IP protection. -

I am guessing it is a direct copy of something: https://www.gearnews.com/electro-harmonix-wins-copyright-piracy-case-against-mooer/ -
We play the version from the album, as that is what I am used to, although the crowd seem to expect the single and start singing the alright now after the solo. They used to complain that I didn't play in the verse as it sounded too quiet. But I don't anyway, sounds wrong to me. I sit there glaring at my 17th fret, daring it to try and get away from my finger later.

Whats the most ridiculous thing you have been asked for on stage?

Ours wasn't very good (one rehearsal) but it was good enough to amuse the crowd. And the guy got dragged off by a very annoyed and loud girlfriend. -

We just had the one fight in a pub, a bit of a minor thing, one guy too drunk wanting to take anyone out. We launched into Saturday nights alright for fighting. It wasn't even gig ready then but seemed appropriate -
I think I have been pretty lucky, never had any trouble ordering from Andertons, PMT, Gear4Music or AbsoluteMusic. Andertons I have sent one thing back, just because it didn't like it enough, and cancelled one thing that they didn't have in stock because I found it in stock and they have dealt with it well. For some reason I don't really trust Gak, but not sure why. Thomman is good but more of a delay and obviously the prices not as good as they used to be back 2 years ago, hardly their fault. Gear4Music have dissapointed a few times, like they were the only group to have a Behringer pm2 when I wanted one, I added it to my cart, it was around £24, the shipping (general shipping not next day) was £17. I took it out of my cart!

Really should, I would watch that I went round to the singer in my bands house yesterday to drop something off and his inlaws where there, while my wife was explaining how to use something we had dropped off her dad said that he had seen the bass program and it was really good, and the program after it. He isn't a bass player. -

Lucky I have never been to one of those, I wouldn't know what a catholic song was!
