  1. I have the X18, used to have (actually still do) the XR16, but I wanted to do multichannel recording. Its the same as the XR18 but in a desktop format which was more handy for us at the time. I run it from a tiny little £15 n router from PC world that does better bands (lost control of it at a gig once with the built in). Never caused me any trouble and once you have worked out how it works (which isn't that hard), you don't have to touch much again. Beyond all the complication, when you are running you just have a bunch of sliders like a regular mixer that you turn up and down, and main output (and effects if you want).
  2. You have only left two bands?
  3. It is fancy plywood, but it looks damn perdy..
  4. So you think my 15 piece neck didn’t need titanium?
  5. Maybe. It was on the normal sites at the time (2013?) but it could have been limited as I know the SR5 was, also burl. Maybe they couldn't get enough burl, it is probably easier to get the normal woods they do. It does have the titanium bars in it anyway.
  6. Yeh, the 1200s are in every catalogue from '11 to '19, I looked on all of them, no 1605.
  7. I don't even have back problems but I am happy to have lighter. When I got my Maruszczyk I had it made hollow with ultralight tuners. It all makes a difference.
  8. You can't expect him to just give it away now?
  9. Of course it is - like this:
  10. I just looked back through the catalogues, and I was wrong, all the premiums have them. however i noticed if you look in the EU pages they mention them and on the US pages they don't. So I think they are still there, but just aren't mentioned any more. Ibanezes website is a bit of a mess for historic things. i tried finding about my 1605 on there, and there is no record of them ever making one. Luckily the rest of the internet remembers, so that has the KTS rods too.
  11. 2605? Yes I am sure it does, it is on the spec and came with a tag saying so. The 2405 doesn’t, most premiers don’t. I am sure they are normally a prestige thing
  12. you say that now, wait until you see the faces
  13. I thought it was just the prestige and a couple of models of the premiums that had them (my new 2605 has them)? I didn't think it was ever standard on the premium models.
  14. I always had a problem with a low battery indicator. If the battery is low, having an LED to tell you is just going to drain the battery!
  15. Did you dance round when playing it wearing bright colours and looking happy?
  16. So how did he leave?
  17. Nice - it looks just like mine if it had a string missing Actually I notice it doesn't look the same, the waviness is different and the speckles are in a different place. The great advantage of wood like that, every one is a bit different.
  18. Its a variable resistor (or trimmer), the put a couple of holes there to give you options
  19. Is the K5 not normal spacing for an ibanez. If so then I am sure I would not have a problem.
  20. Like this you mean? https://blog.xkcd.com/2010/05/03/color-survey-results/
  21. I played a fender 5, it seemed ok but I am the opposite - the strings are so far apart I can't play it smoothly, I miss the strings.
  22. Interested. I have never done much with chromes. I have them on my iby fretless but don't play that much (and don't really like them) but I played an old jazz bass the other day with them on and they were great. My local shop don't have flat wounds so interested in seeing what is around. Probably have to be 5s though as I don't really play any fours
  23. Me too, but I was sitting in town today for 5 minutes while my wife was chatting to a vegetable seller (no, I have no idea why it has to take so long either). By the time she had finished I was pretty mesmerised by them all going around, especially one boy who was desperately trying to show off to all the girls. He didn't seem to be having much luck. Pretty peaceful in the middle of a shopping day Back on the knob front, I have the same issue. I have my Iby 5005 which I took out the original pre for a glokenclang, but have gone from Vol / Balance / Bass / Middle / Mid Freq / Treble and a switch for bypass to Vol / Bal / Bass / Mid / Treble and a pull on the volume for bypass. So i have one too many pots and one too many switches. I left a blank pot in, but there is a hole for the switch. But leaving in the switch wasn't so good as I forget which one it is! I might see if I have some rosewood left to fill the hole
  24. Went for natural, but obviously depends on the bass. An ibanez in natural (either spalted poplar, or wenge) is great, as would be an ACG or a Alpher. A fender in natural would be terrible, when it should be in either black, olympic white or buttercream.
  25. If it was, would you?
