  1. We play Billie Jean in our set. I am sure we will carry on playing it. I haven't seen the program and I have no idea whether he was or wasn't those things that he is claimed to be, but I don't really associate it with the music. If anyone ever asks us not to play it then we will, but I would be surprised if they did. Most people down the dog and duck don't really care about that much other than getting drunk.
  2. 1st from the bass, not the amp. Smoothhound out -> effects -> amp
  3. That is what I have. Smooth hound going into a jamman then a zoom then out. Or Smoothhound going into a helix HX which has a jamman in the loop, then out.
  4. I didn't think it mentioned in the article how he did it?
  5. Has he? Oh I hope they got him a nice clock.
  6. Tough act to follow, but someone is out there. At least for the musical side.
  7. Good point. Maybe he is losing his touch? There was a time when if you wanted to put a ric copy on ebay you had to do it on a friday, so it would survive the whole weekend before he got back on monday and got it taken down. That has been there for a few days now and hasn't been taken down.
  8. I play keys using the Korg iM1 app driven from a 12 step, just doing chords mostly. I keep wanting to do some sample stuff but haven't got round to it
  9. Now I have had a look, yes, they exist, and they exist because there were problems with the Mexican fender factory for Squiers so they produced the same guitars in the American factory (which lets face it is only 180 miles down the road), using the same materials and cheaper finishes. As a result the american squiers are no better than the mexican squiers but people try to sell them for a lot due to scarcity, although they did produce a lot in the one year they were making them.
  10. This is true. Although I would bet that noone here is going to buy it
  11. I didn't know they did that. Seems an odd thing to do
  12. No, I have actually played some awful ones!
  13. We do one, in general I hadn't thought about it, I didn't really associate the song with MJ, probably because we have been doing it so long. I generally don't associate music with the artist that did it. Obviously if you go down that road there would be a lot of music you couldn't play, the people mentioned in there are just the tip of the iceberg, and as my wife and her friends used to live in Hollywood in their early 20s, I have heard stories of some very horrible people some of whoms behaviour was morally questionable, even at the time, and some of it downright criminal.
  14. I have had an awful japanese squier and have a good chinese one. Classic vibes are great. There weren't any US squiers since fender have owned them, the whole point of that label is to make a cheap version to head off copies of the american ones by producing.. err.. copies of american ones.
  15. It does look well good if they meant to put £699 with offers...
  16. Well, its not a real ric and noone is sensibly trying to sell it...
  17. Thats not too shabby is it?
  18. I would say that Scott is not a reviewer, he runs a bass educational website (which is very good). I think his spamming is excessive, but that is probably why I have nothing like the money he has made, and you don't actually have to watch it. The only way you would see his spam is if you signed up for it (which you can unsubscribe from), so not sure what the problem is. I don't like those videos he does, but then I don't watch them so it isn't an issue. But I do watch his paid content, and he also puts out a lot of free content which has value. If I wanted a review of a bass though I wouldn't watch him, there are plenty of people who do it. I like andertons, even though they are a company, because there videos have quality, they are interesting, they show you the thing they are reviewing and talk about it, as well as showing you all the controls and sounds in several different styles. It is pretty hard to do a decent video, which is I guess why most people don't do them.
  19. Is the router providing an IP address here? Is the IP address not tied to the interface (ie, on ethernet connection is it still dhcp?)
  20. ok.. Well, you could message me or provide some details of how interested you are?
  21. You haven't spent enough time looking at to the various flames in forums long gone as to which songs on the middle rush albums were the Ric and which were the jazz!
  22. Not a fan of the song, it's a bit aimless. I think it could have been improved with a better mix though as it seems like she is struggling to break through
  23. Yep. Many variations of it
  24. Still got a few months until September. Why is it so difficult to get someone if there are so few consistent gigging bands? I would think you would have people queuing up to join. Hope it works out better than you expect
  25. The built in wifi has WEP, which is fairly useless for security but better than nothing (it won't stop anyone hacking but it will stop casual connections) but it is not securing that is the issue, it is not a person looking for a connection, it is the phones themselves, it is just what they do. All the time you are walking round with a mobile phone it is trying to find a wifi it can connect to. When there are a lot of mobile phones together in the same place, like a gig, and there is no good wifi, the wifi connections are going mad, that is why for us it fell over at a rather packed outdoor gig. That is why people always say to get a decent router. It can handle it better.
