  2. Wow - do they really go for that? I mean it is an old lump of wood with strings on it. Cant be that many stock broker walls surely?
  3. Its where G&L live, Fender avenue, Fullerton, so is it an American G&L or a Tribute.
  4. Pretty much the same here. We have a whatsapp group but a lot of questions go unanswered.
  5. Not really https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-373?language=en_US#:~:text=If you are making a,refunding any sales tax paid. Remember if you are buying from a shop there is the state tax and also possibly a city tax (that isn't listed in the price). TBH, the best way is to buy something that even if you have to pay vat and import duty in the UK it would be worth it, like if it is really cheap or something unique, then if you have to pay that tax you are prepared for it and still happy, and if you don't it is a good result.
  6. Or maybe EMG could make an ibanez sized pickup.
  7. Looks great, the same colour scheme as my Maruszczyk elwood
  8. Just people looking at the forum not logged in
  9. Ibanez to come up with some punchy and memorable names don't they?
  10. Well, yes, it is music as we know it, ie.. just normal music theory, I think the only reason it can seem odd is if you had never done any music theory. Its stops you having to make random exceptions for certain keys, so that in all keys you have all notes represented - if you are reading sheet music how would you represent a 'normal' a# vs a? If you are changing it you would put a sharp in front of note, but if every a was either an a or a#, it would be tiring to read without going through it first. If you don't read music, then I agree it can seem a bit odd, but then if you don't read music, why does it matter. I don't read greek and it kind of looks all greek to me!
  11. It used to be. But then it depends where you are buying from, if you happen to be taking a trip to one of the states with no sales tax such as Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire, and Oregon (or alaska, but a long way for a bass!), it can be worth it, assuming you don't get caught out, in which case it is likely more expensive. Not sure I understand the logic of carrying an empty case out, for one it will probably cost you more in bagage and for a second, who is going to make a note that you went out with a case?
  12. Of course I wouldn't, but luckily, my toungue isn't made of metal. I should have put a caveat in my post then, no, you shouldn't try it if your body is made of non skin based material I would also say as a caveat, that I wouldn't put any unknown battery of any type on my toungue, just because the label indicated that it was a certain voltage. Especially not if you have a fully functioning multimeter in the house.
  13. Sorry to ruin a good anicdote, but if it was actually a 1.5V battery, it wouldn't matter if it had an entire nuclear reactor power it, it is *still* only 1.5V and would have the same effect as a micro button battery that was 1.5V. the current available is entirely irrelevant until you get up past a certain voltage (around 60v on your skin, less on your tongue). However, 9V can make a bit of a burn so you don't want to do that for long, a quick swipe past won't hurt too much.
  14. Ooh what kind of a messed up shuker thread doesn't have mine in it! Actually it has one I think, as I owned that 6 string up there ^ but the string spacing was too much for me. So I just have this:
  15. I know what you mean, I noticed in the amp shootout, that no only was the little bam amp (which cost me £78) an excelent thing, but also the TC450, which I hardly use and is often disparaged in these walls is actually a very nice amp. That and that the bowed B string on the NS Wav DB is actually quite a noticable and pleasant thing!
  16. Agreed, had a fantastic bash, but sadly only just got in as the car decided its engine wasn't good enough on the way back so had to wait for a guy in a truck to come out, clear some electronics and fondle some tubes before we were off again. Even with over 2 hours in tauntons poorer industrial estates it was worth it!
  17. Crazy good deal - if I was within a few hours I would go and get it and I don't even need another ibanez!
  18. And I will have another slice of vegan biscof cake. Oh did I mention the cake?
  19. Are we still doing an amp shootout? If so, do we know what we have to shoot out wtih? I have: ABM600 Evo IV TC450 BAM200 Bugera BV1001M happy to bring any / all Think I might bring a Boss WAZA Air bass if anyone wants to hear what they are like
  20. That is an odd collection, 4s and 7s, but no 5s or 6s.
  21. Be fair, it would be hard to mime properly if you can't hear the music coming through!
