By default (if I search, I am not sure there is a configuration for this), the option is to search this topic (ie, basses for sale) but the drop down menu on the right lets you change that to the entire site, the forum you are in (bass guitars for sale), this topic (xxx for sale £100), status updates, titles of topics etc

Very good, but fairly heavy, well mine is

In a forum, yes, not a section - so if you wanted to find fender jazz in for sale, you go to bass guitars for sale and do a search there
-
Yeh, mine obviously took a different route to yours - it spent the same time in customs, but since leaving china seems to have gone silent!

No, they are paid for because they are historic items, like £120k for a titanic menu or £260k for ghandis glasses - they clearly weren't any better than all other ones but they are related to history. Clearly all those artists you mentioned sold those guitars, while carrying on playing, and they have all appeared playing other guitars and sounded exactly the same. Some guitars you gell with, some you don't, and it doesn't mean it is a bad guitar or anything, I have a guitar that I love that I got because someone else hated, its personal. While there are objectively bad guitars, good guitars are more subjective And in test after test, top level concert violinists have failed to pick out the stradivarius over other top level violins, even up to the level you would get if you picked one at random. https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn25371-pro-violinists-fail-to-spot-stradivarius-in-blind-test/ But we are human, we get impressed with things we think we should be impressed with!

Sounds good, seems like everything is connected, and if the cones look good, all should be fine
-
No, you are right, it doesn't.

Apart from the helix algorithms, that is the spark. I have a spark 40, and it really is good although not sure I would use it for gigs. But then I had a pod go and didn't rate that! As a home practice thing it is fantastic though, it sits right by my chair in the living room for evening practice. I also have the waza air, but the spark would be the thing left if I had to get rid of one of them.

Have you thought of a Spark Go?

Litterally, if your bass is resonant then some frequencies are going to be cancelled and some are going to be boosted. Maybe they are ones you want cancelled, which is fine, but otherwise you will end up with a thump or a rumble or just feedback at one frequency. THats what resonance is.

Can honestly say that unless the bridge is defective, the difference it makes from one bridge to another is so subtle you wouldn't be able to notice.

If you have a decent meter then yes, you should be able to tell. The 4 ohm is actually slightly higher than 4 ohm, its actually a little over 5, as it is 3 sets of speakers in parallel giving: 1 / (1 / 8+8 + 1 / 8+8 + 1 / 8+8) = 1 / (3/16) = 5.333 ohms if one speaker has blown that 8+8 bit would be failed, so that would be 8 ohms Although the other way is just play a bass through it and see if only 4 cones move!

No, if you then look at threads you have contributed to, it will show you the offending thread, even if you unfollow it.

Fender limited edition Mike Kerr Jaguar...Tiger's Blood Orange!
Woodinblack replied to jd56hawk's topic in Bass Guitars
There are limited editions, which are limited, and then there are the ones they do all the time that started off limited but they didn't stop. Sadly the only ones that have been interesting are actually limited! -
Single? you are a regular contributor, you posted in 2010 AND AGAIN in 2020!

Fender limited edition Mike Kerr Jaguar...Tiger's Blood Orange!
Woodinblack replied to jd56hawk's topic in Bass Guitars
Indeed - it makes sense from a marketing point of view, but always a shame when you can't get something because you weren't in the right place / right time to get it, especially it means there are two fenders I would actually buy even though one is a guitar that I don't play much any more and the other is a 4 string bass when I generally only play 5s. -
Yes, thanks, I undertstood what he meant

Fender limited edition Mike Kerr Jaguar...Tiger's Blood Orange!
Woodinblack replied to jd56hawk's topic in Bass Guitars
Actually not for fender - they make a certain load of items and then that is it, move onto the next. Several things I thought might be nice (the paisley jazz bass) that they shipped out then never did again -
I am sure there is some way of removing notifications of threads like that - I shall look tonight

The rational is that programming stuff on the forum is hard and takes time, or getting plugins that do things like that cost money, I have recently been to lazy to do the hard, and I believe that at the moment there is less money around, at least until new advertising comes on stream or more people become supporting members. So it isn't likely to happen in the immediate future, even if it is something I would like.

Keep Me Logged in not working.
Woodinblack replied to Chienmortbb's question in Site Issues and Questions
How recently are you talking, I haven't but there have been some changes that shouldn't have affected it -
Agreed - I never use those.

How do you know statistically there would be 10%? There may be 10% in the general population, but maybe if they can't play their instruments left handed due to the rules of orchestra, they are more excluded from that sphere and less represented?
