  1. Obviously something is worth whatever you can get people to pay, but a decade ago these were the prices of 60s basses - I guess that is we have moved on a decade later, and there are a lot more year of birth basses in the 70s now then the 60s, and 60s have gone into wall hanger territory. There was a 76 jazz bass round the corner from me the other day for 2k, looked in good condition, but with the london shops and reverb pushing much higher prices for 70s basses, it sort of normalises it. I guess my real problem with the 70s fender jazzes etc is that it is hard to get round the common knowledge of when I was starting that you didn't touch a 70s fender unless it was cheap (and they were very cheap)
  2. I wouldn't have thought so, 70s fenders having major value is only a new thing
  3. They are very light wood. My euro is probably 10lb I would think.
  4. The spector I recently just traded (the RST) was just over 7lb
  5. I don't think so, these are individual isolated events
  6. I watched the video and thought that as in instructional video on 'how to point at things' it worked well. as you said, with a decent singer it might be a passable song
  7. Its one or two peoples opinion, not the law. I actually never had too much difficulty being in a small environment with the opposite sex avoiding sexually assaulting them
  8. Well, that sounds sensible to me. Regardless of his views!
  9. But what if the skeleton in the closet is that you are a monster? All these people were just normal until people found out. I am sure (well, I know) there are a lot of rapists and wife beaters out there famous for their music and get a free pass. The line is entirely personal. We have got a Michael jackson song in the set, it goes down fine. We have been asked to do leader of the gang before (we didn't do it, but it is not a song that we have in our list, and I double that some of the others know it). I can quite happily say I wouldn't do a lost prophet song, but I don't know their songs, so they don't mean anything to me, I had never heard of them until he hit the news. I am sure there are many people out there with their full album collection and they have songs that people grew up with and love, and still listen to, if not publicly.
  10. I used to get that all the time as a child, so did my sister - we called it being detached. I don't get it anywhere nearly as much now, but still get it occasionally, maybe once a year or so. I do get the other feeling quite often, like 'waking up' (not that I was asleep) and briefly being completely out of normal life, like a 'what am I doing here' sort of feeling.
  11. Yes, if it doesn't work it doesn't work. I would be surprised if there was a problem finding a blues / rock band, they seem the most common.
  12. Still waiting on mine (not just the neck!)
  13. Can you not go back to cruises, but just for the winter?
  14. I made some mods on guitarchat, things should be easier now, but if there are any problems let me know
  15. I will have a look tonight - these little issues like that are getting a bit annoying, I need to find out what is going on there.
  16. They have been doing it for a while - its a crazy price, I am sure someone pays that.
  17. Ooh so the Frank Black filter works then More than likely there is an issue with your cache and guitarchat - a new caching system has been put on there to do with adverts and it seems to intefere with some addresses (including mine, although I can log in). I suspect the security check thing might not be set up properly - if @Dad3353 isn't around (as I think he does most of the modding around there) I can look later
  18. all a bit negative no? At least someone under 50 has a bass in a video
  19. Ah that is a pain - although that one is also in china with shipping, so it woudn't help. Mine was for sale for a while, but it is only a 5, and currently i need to redo the headstock. TBH - at nearly £400 it isn't worth it, but below 300 it maybe. I was surprised at how well these things play, and that the neck is pretty good. The oddest thing is that having built a bass myself and having a handle on it, it is odd about how some of the trickier things are spot on, but the simple things aren't right - like, the neck is straight, the action is good, the frets are good, but the side dots aren't lined up and the machineheads are in the wrong place which pulled the bridge off. The pickups are good, but the jack socket was a mono rather than the stereo so it couldn't switch the batteries off. The shape is well done, however the shape is clearly done by someone who had seen a bongo and drawn it from memory, which is odd as there are pictures on the net that would say it is wrong - but the wrong shape they have done is perfect. The finish is perfect, but it has two battery boxes, one of which is a fake. It is a weird combination of good and bad, but not where you would think. However, as I said, I did gig it, it sounded fine (although now having a bongo, not the same) and someone even asked me about it. I would gig it again.. except I have a real one which I am kind of in love with, so why would I!
  20. I understand what fake means, do you? It is an illegal copy of a bongo adjective: fake not genuine; imitation or counterfeit. noun: fake a thing that is not genuine; a forgery or sham. verb: fake; forge or counterfeit (something).
  21. I gigged it, it was fine, Neck is good, headstock is out of line so the strings aren't straight. Its playable, although had to redo the preamp as it was wired permanently ie, the battery drains straight away because it doesn't switch off - yes, there is one battery, two pretend battery holes just for show. The finish was actually ok. only if you bought it here, if you bought it from aliexpress where it is a lot cheaper it would just come through and have free shipping. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000326860373.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.43.50a110f3unFuC1&algo_pvid=1f5f8904-589c-4b72-9081-126c444b803a&algo_exp_id=1f5f8904-589c-4b72-9081-126c444b803a-21&pdp_npi=4%40dis!GBP!239.27!239.27!!!294.78!!%40211b88f116920847898717128e0200!10000001341805181!sea!UK!1744630971!&curPageLogUid=8yue0sW0zrvc
  22. I use the behringer X18, but obviously not the internal mixer, so I just go through a cheap £40 5GHz mixer Last open air thing I did I just plugged my U4 into where their floor monitor was.
  23. I have had very little issues in the last few years of using the U4, inteferance wise, but most of my other wireless is 5GHz
