are there no UK distributers - like Bass Direct or someone?
-
Its because they can't be competing with their suppliers, and if they have an RRP they have to use it. And setup? That would be like implying they weren't setup fantastically out of the box!
-
Is the price not dependant on the company of the payment methods conversion rate when purchased?
-
It is - although it does clarify more - I must admit I forgot when I ordered my FI, i forgot about the vat so it was a bit of a surprise. It is worth reminding people but obviously isn't pandas fault.
-
My wifes shop was not making enough to be registered for vat, and pre-brexit had a lot of customers in the EU (about 25% of her business was that), but would have had to pay vat after that. Never did though as post brexit the workload involved to sell into the EU was to great for her to do as well as the rest of the shop so she lost that market to a larger EU shop that was her competitor.

Oh yes, that was on our list to learn.

Somehow don't think he is putting the effort in:

Quite tempted to get one as a useful one off pedal. But that might because my multifx is away at the moment still

The Last Dinner Party playing Sparks
Woodinblack replied to bornagainbass65's topic in General Discussion
They are one of those groups that seem quite pushed and I don't quite gel with but give credit that least they are doing something different, so I swing between liking them and hating them. I guess, I like their sound but none of their songs have really grabbed me. When that started I thought 'oh god it is another of those emotionless slowed down songs that there are a lot of', but although it seemed a bit slow her voice actually really did honour the original pretty well, so I was more impressed than I was expecting. -
Thomman have them at £190 - there are a few cheaper ones too.

Active PA Cabs, What have you got and are they any good?

The Evox I got before for under £500, now there isn't anything south of £700. I saw about the 310s - sounds like quite a good deal and would probably be good as vocals, but would it be ok with me putting my bass through it and the rest of the band, or would I just end up with more things to carry around? -
Yep, and then I have a whole load more clutter to deal with in already compromised space and more time setting up when it is already too long. I have just downsized to a smaller pedalboard to reduce space, so there isn't actually that much room. It doesn't really matter as I have no need for one at the moment, but it was fun. If it was smaller and fitted it would have stayed there and I would have worked it into my set, but I didn't have that much real estate next to things I actually needed, so it went. If I really needed it obviously I would get it, but when it is a want rather than a need, anything can sway the decision.

It wouldn't fit in the budget, but selling the TS212s and if I wasn't bothering with an amp it would be manageable. And these things seem to keep their value (in fact my other one is probably worth more than I paid for it now). -
it does, one that won't fit on my current pedalboard!

He does have one now, which improved his voice from the behringer he had. But he as also tried with my mic, the tc helicon one. I was fiddling last night with a multitrack after remembering I had a few and noticed that he needed a boost in the same area (1.5k) that i needed a cut on mine. I am sure I went to your house once to pick up speaker componants? I have been looking and I am thinking that I might get a second Evox 8, because if I got the evox j8mix, I wouldn't need to take my mixer to practice, and I could also put the bass into it meaning I wouldn't need an amp or my speaker. So I could save myself lugging stuff around. Maybe also that way go ampless at gigs too, in which case would save even more hassle. -
I must admit that one gets me too - buying it and then having to pay extra for a case

most certainly not, finest popcorn for the longest pointless arguments! -
I would say the feeling of watching the guitarist trying to get in their locked car probably would beat it for me

Thanks - quite a bit to think about. The speakers are TS212s, had them for a long time, they are fundamentally ok but a bit boxy. Nowhere near as bright as the RCF, although I would be surprised if they would be. The sax stuff is interesting. He has a wireless transmitter bolted to the side of the sax, with a little gooseneck thing that points into the bell - so it is interesting from your video that that isn't where it should be. The transmitter is a senheiser, but it isn't good although not anything to do with the feedback (it clicks a lot). The mic is a different shure, but at one point he had the same as the drummer and they have swapped a bit, he also used my TC Helicon mic, which sounds fine with me and is unclear. I guess the problem is just him, I have listened to the sound of a multitrack and he just sounds a bit like that. His mic technique is fine when he isn't trying to hold the mic like a rapper, He is a bit further back than me with teh mic, but not as far as the drummer (another issue with him and the cymbals coming through). The PA started off flat with bits being taken out for feedback control - it used to be parametric, but now on the main out I used the graphic and just knocked out any bits that were feeding back. I think that is probably the main issue, and I was going to get a pink noise generator to check what the response is. -

He is close enough, just a bit muffled. Could be the feedback caused by the alto, although at practices I just use the evo and can get feedback there. To be fair most of the time at practices it is the sax, although often at the gigs it can be. -

I haven't, although considering I have one, it is not a bad shout! -

FoH - I use in-ears, we don't have any monitors. Me and the drummer have in ears, the singer is out the front and doesn't complain. The guitarist complains about this, but I don't see his hand going in his pocket, I have spare monitor channels! Its normally the audience saying the vocals are too quiet. There is possibly also an issue the singer is not very clear, as the drummer when he sings is fairly clear, but we can't change him (we have changed his Mic)
