If you have a decent meter then yes, you should be able to tell. The 4 ohm is actually slightly higher than 4 ohm, its actually a little over 5, as it is 3 sets of speakers in parallel giving: 1 / (1 / 8+8 + 1 / 8+8 + 1 / 8+8) = 1 / (3/16) = 5.333 ohms if one speaker has blown that 8+8 bit would be failed, so that would be 8 ohms Although the other way is just play a bass through it and see if only 4 cones move!

No, if you then look at threads you have contributed to, it will show you the offending thread, even if you unfollow it.

Fender limited edition Mike Kerr Jaguar...Tiger's Blood Orange!
Woodinblack replied to jd56hawk's topic in Bass Guitars
There are limited editions, which are limited, and then there are the ones they do all the time that started off limited but they didn't stop. Sadly the only ones that have been interesting are actually limited! -
Single? you are a regular contributor, you posted in 2010 AND AGAIN in 2020!

Fender limited edition Mike Kerr Jaguar...Tiger's Blood Orange!

Indeed - it makes sense from a marketing point of view, but always a shame when you can't get something because you weren't in the right place / right time to get it, especially it means there are two fenders I would actually buy even though one is a guitar that I don't play much any more and the other is a 4 string bass when I generally only play 5s. -
Yes, thanks, I undertstood what he meant

Fender limited edition Mike Kerr Jaguar...Tiger's Blood Orange!

Actually not for fender - they make a certain load of items and then that is it, move onto the next. Several things I thought might be nice (the paisley jazz bass) that they shipped out then never did again -
I am sure there is some way of removing notifications of threads like that - I shall look tonight

The rational is that programming stuff on the forum is hard and takes time, or getting plugins that do things like that cost money, I have recently been to lazy to do the hard, and I believe that at the moment there is less money around, at least until new advertising comes on stream or more people become supporting members. So it isn't likely to happen in the immediate future, even if it is something I would like.

Keep Me Logged in not working.

How recently are you talking, I haven't but there have been some changes that shouldn't have affected it -
Agreed - I never use those.

How do you know statistically there would be 10%? There may be 10% in the general population, but maybe if they can't play their instruments left handed due to the rules of orchestra, they are more excluded from that sphere and less represented?

And I suppose value is very relative for people: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-66563807

Obviously something is worth whatever you can get people to pay, but a decade ago these were the prices of 60s basses - I guess that is we have moved on a decade later, and there are a lot more year of birth basses in the 70s now then the 60s, and 60s have gone into wall hanger territory. There was a 76 jazz bass round the corner from me the other day for 2k, looked in good condition, but with the london shops and reverb pushing much higher prices for 70s basses, it sort of normalises it. I guess my real problem with the 70s fender jazzes etc is that it is hard to get round the common knowledge of when I was starting that you didn't touch a 70s fender unless it was cheap (and they were very cheap)
-
I wouldn't have thought so, 70s fenders having major value is only a new thing
-
They are very light wood. My euro is probably 10lb I would think.
-
The spector I recently just traded (the RST) was just over 7lb

I'm my own puppet sometimes - it's depersonalisation...

I don't think so, these are individual isolated events -
I watched the video and thought that as in instructional video on 'how to point at things' it worked well. as you said, with a decent singer it might be a passable song

Its one or two peoples opinion, not the law. I actually never had too much difficulty being in a small environment with the opposite sex avoiding sexually assaulting them
-
Well, that sounds sensible to me. Regardless of his views!

But what if the skeleton in the closet is that you are a monster? All these people were just normal until people found out. I am sure (well, I know) there are a lot of rapists and wife beaters out there famous for their music and get a free pass. The line is entirely personal. We have got a Michael jackson song in the set, it goes down fine. We have been asked to do leader of the gang before (we didn't do it, but it is not a song that we have in our list, and I double that some of the others know it). I can quite happily say I wouldn't do a lost prophet song, but I don't know their songs, so they don't mean anything to me, I had never heard of them until he hit the news. I am sure there are many people out there with their full album collection and they have songs that people grew up with and love, and still listen to, if not publicly.

I used to get that all the time as a child, so did my sister - we called it being detached. I don't get it anywhere nearly as much now, but still get it occasionally, maybe once a year or so. I do get the other feeling quite often, like 'waking up' (not that I was asleep) and briefly being completely out of normal life, like a 'what am I doing here' sort of feeling. -
What are you listening to right now?
