  1. He didn't have to as Spirit already had
  2. My stuff always fits, so it will go in just fine! Cant even remember what I am bringing, but I am sure I will remember before the day. Have a couple of basses I can put up for sale - too expensive to put in a raffle but too cheap to sell online!
  3. I thought I did, but turned out I didn't.
  4. I used to keep a gig list of the last 7 years, but I had moved it onto the cloud only and I accidently deleted it during lockdown and didn't notice it for over 3 months (which is how long it stays in the bin). Since then I haven't bothered
  5. To put a capo on and play the 5 frets above that!
  6. To be fair, I don't think my ability playing darts would be an different under those circumstances
  7. What kind of crazy twin bass busking outfit is this??
  8. in which case edit the title (by editing the first post) and add the word SOLD to the end of it, it will automatically lock
  9. Just saw that elsewhere - well worth the price!
  10. It is if you need both low and high. There is a song I do where I play below the E, but also on the G above the 15th fret. Obviously I could do that above the 20th fret but then things are starting to get a bit tight. I guess maybe that is what the high C is for, or bite the bullet and play it on the chapman stick (although that only goes down to C)
  11. Just take a string off and plane the side of the neck down
  12. That is the problem with that subject, both sides think the other side is looking down on them, and frankly some people of both sides are looking down on the others for whatever reason. Wheras most people actually don't care what other people use. However, was a bit surprised it went to this level of childishness
  13. Pretty well same as here, but there are always cancellations or new people in the market. We are obviously booked months ahead but we always get stuff coming through that is short notice stuff, such as cancelations. its worth putting the effort in. But I think it is an important thing to get out gigging as soon as possible to cement the idea of being a gigging group, otherwise it is just very easy to fall into the 'lets get this perfect, maybe next month we will look at gigs'.
  14. In that case get a gig booked and in the diary for next month
  15. He mentioned a NS stick, that is not tuned the same was as (most) chapman sticks, they are 8 string instruments generally tuned in 4ths from B to Bb. so 2 strings on top of a 6 string.
  16. I only play a 5 and I often think I would like a 4, so I end up buying one and then not playing it and selling it again. Then I repeat the cycle. So yes, if a 4 works for you, go for it, there aren't any rules that say what you have to play, or how you have to play it.
  17. My sub doesn't go up that high, but there is no reason for a vocal mic for our group needs to go much below 80. We only use the sub open air anyway, so it is never much of an issue for us.
  18. Your mics pick up your subs? Apart from the bass drum I don't have any mics that can go down that low
  19. If you put a straight switch over the power, yes, you would get a thump, but if you had a combined active, passive, power, you could to it in a way which prevented you getting a thump
  20. Indeed - that is why I put the picture of both of them a few pages back and mentioned missing people - I didn't realise that it hadn't been noticed, maybe I should have mentioned it on here.
  21. I think that is the thing, I can get a good distortion or drive, certainly close enough for gigging, once you are at a gig it's hard to tell even if the distortion is on let alone the type. I assume it can't emulate something like an octave which I have been unsuccessful in finding a decent one of, or a synth pedal. I think if I was a guitarist it might be more interesting. I have got rid of all other pedals at the moment although probably will get something to do a decent pedal that doesn't take room
  22. Nope, a long power supply for the harley benton pedalboards. It forms part of the board, has an IEC mains socket on one side, and lots of power outputs on the other. No, haven't tried aida yet
  23. My social media is mostly funny things I have seen, stupid stuff I have done and photos of things I found interesting, with the occasional 'look I did a thing!' - not too many as I don't do too many things. The bands social media is mostly poor - it is a list of gigs that are upcoming, videos that I found on the net of us that people posted, and replies to peoples posts, because it is sort of left to me and I can't really do much. I do post the occasional full length song video when I video the band and obviously I will post a song that we didn't mess up anything, so in that sense it is manicured. I also did post one video where I had videod and recorded from the desk, but the bass had a clicking noise all the way through it (no idea where it was from), so I redid part of the audio of that, but it was just one track, and it was so much effort I wouldn't do it again.
  24. I like to watch the performance but in general you can only really see it through other peoples smartphones. As a result I don't really go to that many big gigs any more, I can listen to the music loudly and distorted and watch my own smartphone!
  25. I have a friend who goes to a gig and then posts sets of photos (I think facebook has a limit of photos you can post) - she doesn't edit, she dumps everything she takes anywhere on facebook (so you have a lot of ones that should have just been deleted), Looking at the last set she posted, there are 5 sets of 80 photos (so 400 photos), and a load of videos, many of which are over 5 minutes. So much so that if you go through the photos fast (and note I doubt anyone has gone through the photos), they are almost movie like as there are only seconds between each one, so there will be like 8 photos of the singer walking across the stage). She also livestreams sections when she goes to a gig (which I find incredibly rude). That is how she experiences gigs, I guess that is how some people like to do it, experience it through the screen. I remember when I was a kid there was a whole thing about sneaking a tape recorder or camera in, and how security wouldn't let any of it through. I am a huge fan of having a camera I can take everywhere but do believe that in the process we have lost something, a forgettable memory.
