  1. But that doesn't give you any real advantage over a 9v supply, not like an actual 18V where you can use the zero as the centre crossing point.
  2. I have both - I carry the CT100 with me everywhere, the other one I keep at home as although it does other things, it is a lot slower going through a number of leads.
  3. People notice posts getting removed, plus if you do a google, basschat threads appears quite high in the listings for it, so people can find out. Then of course, there are various trustpilot sort of sites...
  4. Do you mean that out of the 3, only 2 work well at any time or that one of your IEMs isn't functioning well?
  5. Fair enough, if it is a level thing (I have a passive that is louder than all my actives). I wondered if there was some technical reason I couldn' think of. I will say, I can't use my 2.4GHz transmitters (either the dongle or the Waza air transmitter) directly on the bongo, because of noise, and i can't use the waza air on the ibanez as the whole is too small! Take your word for it - would rather throw my money down the drain than order from Amazon, but we all have our things we won't do! Yeh, but the ones in the image aren't which is why I wondered
  6. I saw that. I did wonder why it thinks the Lekato 5.8 GHz aren't compatible with active pickups though. They aren't the ones I use, mine are sort of square.
  7. Oughta know is a good one for a wedding! Still, we learned Pinks who knew for a wedding in the first place, I guess people don't really listen to these things!
  8. As a data point supporting that, I used to use my X18 with either a 2.4GHz external router (the TPLink travel one) or its own internal router. At the same time I used the smoothhound, with no issues. Then when I bought the XVive U4, the X18 would simply not work - it connected, but trying to change anything was an absolute nightmare. it was definately the XVive as if I turned it off it worked again. I could get some reasonable sort of connection from it by sticking the X18 at one end and the XVive at the other end of the channel, but it wasn't good. So I went out and bought the 5.8GHz TP link travel router, the one up from the one I had. After getting that (and now moving on to another), I have never had a wireless problem (except when the XVive died). So it could well be that the XVive is 'dirty' and just dumps all over other 2.4GHz stuff.
  9. By low cost I mean not the real budget ones, the ones in the £100 range. Certainly the nux, smoothhound and a few others list that as a feature.
  10. I presume it does more than that though as even the cheap wireless systems automatically pick the least congested channels and switch to them if they are better than the ones they have rather than having to do it manually?
  11. I have it and occasionally use it (it is good as a backup on the phone, as the official app is iPad only), but I never really got on with it - maybe I could have spent more time
  12. I have an xr16 as well which is what I thought I needed, and honestly apart from multitrack recording, it is, the 18 just adds more jack inputs, more aux outputs that I don’t currently need, a pair of inputs (vs 2 singles) and the usb
  13. Same unit I had. I got it as I lost my 2.4GHz dongle I used for practice for a while (turned up in a lesser used gig bag after buying them), so I could continue practicing with them. I used them for all practices and then after a while it occured to me that I trusted them more than the smoothhound so I started gigging with them. Then I used them full time. Only downside is I wish I hadn't got the white ones and they are a bit wide.
  14. Agreed - I don't think I would intentionally pick anything that was 2.4GHz for gigging these days, unless there was no choice (like the U4s, and sometimes they do have problems). There is no actual wirelss I need any more, although the singer could do with a wireless microphone, or as mentioned previously, a reliable wireless sax connection, but that is his lookout!
  15. When my maruzchyk bass broke its bottom strap button, I took it to a friend of mine who used an old bit of brass pipe he had, put notches on the bottom and drilled the screw out, put a dowel in then a new screw. Couldn't have put a notch in the old screw as it was too small and the metal wasn't good enough even for a head, let alone a thin screw line.
  16. My smoothound never actually dropped out (until it actually fell apart - now fixed) but there were times when the inteference bar on the side lit up full, and the signal bar was almost empty which made me feel a bit nervous! It does seem 5.8GHz is better for less inteference. Maybe just because it is less crowded in general, and this is with me using 5.8GHz for the connection for the X18 and iPad.
  17. It looks nice, just the spacing. I am not sure what could be the downside of selling a bridge that works with a bongo, or even why they don't sell one themselves. I know bridges don't break often, but I am sure they can (and they sell the saddles) edit: I wrote to them and asked, see what they say
  18. Certainly something I couldn't live with. I 100% trust mine to not cut out ever, if they did, I would stop using them. i have never had a cutout, and remember, I am talking very budget (these are my £50 5.8GHz dongles).
  19. Really? Is there any wireless you have had that you couldn't do that with? Seems strange, I am happy to go to the other end of whatever venue I am with with my cheap dongle - obviously I don't play grand places but 3 times that distance. never had it drop out.
  20. The compact mixing desk thread has a whole load of those things - some of them seem pretty good, with their own bonuses and pitfalls, but still pretty happy with the X18 and its other ecosystem stuff. I think the only thing that would push me from a X18 would be an X32 if I was doing more.
  21. when I had the smooth hound it attached to the strap in a bit now I just use the dongle so it hangs in the bass. My wireless iems though attach to either my belt if I have one or my pocket
  22. close, it's a bongo into an ashdown into a basschat 1x12, and it really did! yeh, I asked when you were on but the people with the PA were on at 4 and they didn't know. We were the second on the truck. You will probably get asked back, that's why we are there, we did last year gagglefest and played there another two times. It's been good each time (last years weather was better!) and my wife is happy to come along as she can play with the goats!
  23. Note the X-Air app was updated recently as it wasn't working after the last ios update. More info probably in the mixing thread:
  24. Well, our full name, self drive plant hire dorset! No, we tend to go by our shorter name of Rexes Hollow. I would have taken the sign but I am waiting for some fixings so we can hang it up somewhere!
  25. Yep, always, its my only thing on my pedalboard these days (and the keyboard). I did a new patch last night as the sample player used to come out of channel 2 and bass came out of channel 1, but I thought as someone else was doing the sound, I would put the output of the sample on 1 as well to go through my amp, and at the same time, I put a chorus on there for 'Who knew' as well.
