haha - I would say the exact opposite!
-
This has already been fixed
-
why is it a univeral thing that people who want £15000 for an instrument can't actually take an in focus photo?
-
All these things are compromises. Obviously 2 5" speakers aren't going to get you that flat a response, i mean you know full well, *nothing* will actually give you a flat response / full range, it is just a compromise of how close to a flat response you want to go for what size and what cost. The Bose has a nice range and response, and a great battery life, but not so loud and stupidly expensive (does go nicely with the dwarf though), the gear4music one was actually pretty good considering it was reasonably cheap (b stock), and reasonably light for a tower, it would have been good enough for playing without a drum kit. well, 30W-50 amp modules are common and cheap, as well as small enough to put in a cab, and as all you need from a preamp is to be flat, any sort of hifi preamp module would do.
-
Depends on your volume requirements - for lowish volumes, yes, for rock band volumes, no. But don't you already have a battery combo? I had a gear4music battery powered PA, probably ok for the singer/songwriter level, but not much good for anything else, and I have a Bose S1, which is pretty good at what it does but again, there is a limit to volume.

Sorry - fail to believe that any crowd loved a drum solo!

I do hope so!

That is one pretty neck. I must admit I prefer the matched headstock and I don't think it would be my first choice of colour, but sounds like something rather nice.

My wife has always been (and is still) convinced that Mike Kerr will eventually turn out to be a serial killer, she is fairly convinced of this. She still likes the group though.

I don't think so, they did a signature thing for Geezer Butler, and I am sure as a result they sold a few units and their company carried on trading. I almost bought one once when I saw a clearence one. I doubt anyone ever needed that setup, but the unit itself looks really cool (and you can see with the EVO V, a lot of people thought so!) and that is 80% of the job!

Indeed - the options for expanding are much greater and thus the options for spending money are much much greater!
-
No, don't confuse the things - that shows them running 4 speakers - if they were all 4Ω and in parallel then yes that would be 1Ω, but they aren't, they are 4 separate 4Ω speakers being driven by 4 separate amps, driven from the same source. And note this is perfectly possible with 4 separate ABMs (or even 2 separate ABM1200s) just that it has a mod to make this easier.

I have a pro and an air 2, the air 2 was just for gigging, until recently it ran all the soft synths. Well, until recently it ran! still cost £80 for a new one so sadly not worth trying to fix. I have a pro for everything else
-
Yeh, I have to do that too, my gigging iPad died, and I assume the new (old) one I got on eBay will probably come with an updated OS! I am on the beta test for the new software, it's looking good but still going to be a while
-
indeed it is just for cab configuration. Not sure what the advantage of a class d abm is - they have other amps that are class D, the abm is a large transistor type.

If you mean the XAirs, It saves in the mixer, apart from spare scene files you can download but probably only of use in multiple bands
-
Probably a wise move - I don't take a backup for the mixer, its probably the only thing I trust!
-
If you are almost at the limit of what something has it would certainly put me off buying it - you are always going to find a situation that needs more than you have. That is why I also have an XR16 sitting down there!

Yes, we do the outdoor gig about 4 times a year, and then a couple of other villiage fete type things that we do the drums for. Plus when we do that I record off the desk to multitrack, only time I can really record with good sound

Wireless system - any 100% reliable long term reports?
Woodinblack replied to a topic in Accessories and Misc
Never actually had a problem with a wireless system, although I have always had a backup. Also no to tone colouration, or at least not as much as a system with a cable. So for me, yes, I have used 2 100% reliable wireless systems. -
Its hard when you get to your mid 30s to realise that you are considered pensioners to people in their early 20s, the same as people who were in their mid 30s were to you when you were 20! I have seen Royal Blood several times, and they were good and did a good set, but he can sure rant on about the audience not appreciating them enough. I guess the way down is going to be hard.

I have controlled the X18 over midi briefly when I had a different surface. There is also a standalone project for that (interfacing various surfaces with the mixer), but sort of stopped that when i got the X_Touch.
