  1. I think the weirdest thing is that 3 of the 5 weddings we have done were gay weddings. Seems disproportionately high, considering we are just a normal cover band.
  2. I guess it depends on the wedding. We have done 5 weddings, 3 of them we did new songs for, 2 of which are now in our standard song list but the rest was just parts of our normal set. They all seemed to go down fine and we enjoyed playing all of them. I don't recall any of them being that much more hassle than a normal gig, apart from finding the venues (as they all tend to be little country areas with weird parking).
  3. Me too as long as I knew I was leaving before dakota and wouldn't be anywhere near earshot by dont look back in anger!
  4. I don't mind that song but we all have those songs.. there are a couple of blues songs that the guitarist keeps trying to bring in which are.. well, blues songs so very dull to play. The worst for me was chumbawumba, tubthumping. Its a tricky one as I don't even know if I am playing it right as I can't listen to the whole song so I am just guessing, but noone really cares. I hate the song, the guitarist hate the song, but the audience love it so it gets trotted out. Some other things though you can have fun with, i mean, mustang sally has so many trills, fills and walking sections in it now that the original didn't have I really enjoy it!
  5. isn't it just easier to listen to the songs tuned up by 1/2 step - quite a lot of apps will do that
  6. Nope, treat everyone based on who they are. The singer is probably the least sensitive.
  7. Yeh, that would be a no for me even on a £200 bass - if you can't take any more photos I am assuming you don't have the thing you are selling.
  8. Any indication of why a £4k 10 string mandolin being sold on gumtree would be of interest to rickenbacker or chris Squier fans?
  9. The bongo, spector, ibanez and shuker are all 2hh, as is my own build. They all work pretty well
  10. Well, that is better than it being under someone elses control, at least it can't be used for scamming people you know..
  11. No luck getting the account back?
  12. As far as I see, the off topic doesn't increase content count, so it is odd that you can win the day with it - I think something has got lost in translation - I will look into it ok, looked into it, it isn't sadly an option without a plugin
  13. If you got a thin weedy sound then yes, it could be a coil. If it is working as a volume control (ie, full off is no sound at all), it is a shorted capacitor, a tone control with a shorted capacitor is a volume control.
  14. You reckon? Maybe it was from the period where fender ran out of logos and required a member of staff to paint the fender logo by hand, but this was one of the first ones he did?
  15. If you have two factor authentication with something, if you want to change your password or log into your account, you log in, and they send you a code to your phone or your email normally with a big disclaimer saying not to share it with someone. If they do get that number, they can log into your account and do whatever they want, the first thing is turning off 2 factor and changing the email / password - the account is now theres.
  16. I love army of me and her earlier stuff, I am guessing it is the acapella element, I couldn’t get through it, I was waiting for the tracks to start, it seemed very self indulgent even for bjork
  17. Yes, that code thing is the two factor authentication, one of the big scams that they try at the moment. Its a real pain but at least it isn't your bank account.
  18. I never used that when I had mine although it sounds useful. I guess you could get round it with a patch switcher.
  19. So did John Dillinger, although he didn't have much say in the matter
  20. Clearly he wasn't. if you put a fill in and can't do it, you have messed the song up, ie, you couldn't do the fill. If you can't do something, dont do it.
  21. Impressive - how is it bolted on and could it take the weight of an ipad (or for that matter, a drunk pub goer falling over it!)
  22. Its symptomatic of a shorted tone capacitor As the value of an older fender bass is more in its age and originality rather than it being an instrument, I would say that this would be the right thing to do.
  23. Looks great - I guess it is down to what sort of price it lands at. Guessing from its feature set and other devices that they do that it will be quite a lot.
  24. I remember buying that when it first came out, it was very heavily played.
