  1. If you had the money and political inclination to send your kids there, you probably wouldn't care! What size is the case for the X-Touch. I was wanting to get a hard case for it, but couldn't find one the right size
  2. Surface mount is easier, assuming good optics - instead of the colour they have a number on them like 103 or 472
  3. Oh yes, those, I forgot about those. Well, already have the cable from my other set and don't really use the plug as is (the sockets on the back of the X18 are pretty close to each other!)
  4. What is this supplied to adapter that you speak of, who supplied it? I don't have one! I would probably preface this to say I have never used my xvive on a headphone output, mine connects to the monitor output of my x18, and I have a TRS to XLR, which makes the same output as a XR18 (difference being for size on theX18 mixer). But that is obviously a mono TRS output, T+ R- S earth, differential output. if you plug that into a headphone amp you would be sending the difference between the left and right channels which as you say, would be way down (and also cancel out anything in the centre) so yes, you only want the connection between one side, either T-S or R-S. ideally what you want in that case is a TRS connector where only one side is connected, either the T or R. The TS I'll work except some things don't like having one side shorted out
  5. Thomman do seem to have the monopoly on a lot of XVive stuff, or the only place supporting it, as I was looking where i could get the cases from and they are the only non US seller
  6. I don't see that, but now I look they do a case for it, which I might see if I can pick up some time. If you transport it in just the bag it tends to flip the power on!
  7. You mean the XVive U4 IEMs that we are talking about here or something else?
  8. I means of the xvive! but you know, short cables rock too
  9. Its actually can be sort of like both, but a short length of cable works as a bit of a high frequency filter. Anyway, good that it is no longer causing an issue. I am a great fan of those.
  10. I have never had a high pitched buzz on the XVive, but I have had a high pitched buzz on a wireless to the Zoom B1 (when it was plugged in) and on a different wireless. In all cases I found that putting a longer lead between the the wireless and mains powered device on a longer lead got rid of it. My XVive hangs out the back of my X18, but it is on the end of a 9" cable.
  11. I unlocked the one that you had from a few weeks ago, assuming that is the one. Easiest way in the future if you want one unlocked is just go to the post and report that you want it opened.
  12. not if you have 18 basses it woudn't!
  13. I would think so - I mean apart from tool who actually plays them now? If you look down the list of players on the tool webiste, of the living ones, Paul McCartney - haven't seen him play that in years, Geddy Lee - used one on one album and now just mostly plays a jazz (even to do those songs), Nick Beggs, used in Kagagoogoo but it isn't even on his equipment list any more, Bruce Thommas - pretty rare to see him without a red P bass like instrument, Flea - switches from fender to musicman, hasn't been seen with a wal for a long time, JJ Burnel, well, its either a black P bass or a Shuker copy of a black P bass. On their list I don't see any reall current artists. I am sure they will never be worthless and all the time there are more people who want them then can order them they will go up, but like a lot of 'investments', a lot of the value is in the perception that the value will go up
  14. Of course it is the same to vintage fenders. A few years ago you couldn't give a 70s fender away, and now they go for crazy prices. There are certainly many orders of magnitudes more 70s and 80s fender basses than wals in their entire run. They can't be considered even slightly rare and you can buy a fender without waiting built the same way and save a fair bit. Obviously there are changes in the last 6 years or so that have added to 50% of the price to stuff, the fact our money is worth a lot less, but there is still a false idea of rare driving those prices up.
  15. I am not sure why it is an issue - if you have £12k for a wal, buy it, you aren't hurting anyone, you aren't forcing other people to pay more for something. It is a crazy price to pay for something like that, but so are vintage fenders etc, all the time people buy them they will go up.
  16. No, nothing I am aware of, unless the messages were sent by someone who was then subsequently blocked for sending spam - i havne't looked to see if that was the case.
  17. Its £50 and just made for a jazz bass, so if you have a jazz bass, its not hugely off a set of strings to give it a try and see how it goes. Yes, there are flaws in the concepts, and I haven't got a jazz bass so I can't try it, but for what it is, if I did have a jazz bass, I would probably give it a try.
  18. I have gigged several times on a bass with a ramp. Presumably many other people who have ramps have too.
  19. It doesn't contain egg, it is certified vegan (both the sausage and the pastry). There is quite a lot of vegan stuff at greggs, although it is still greggs!
  20. my 2000 green euro has gold hardware but black knobs,
  21. Probably not as the manufacturers would assume with your massive ape hands that need such wide spacing, weight wouldn't be an issue <runs>
  22. because the normal sausage roll tastes so unlike an actual sausage roll, the vegan one tastes just the same!
