Same here, but a while back, I was at a festival in dorset and the owner of said shop recognised me and said hello, which was a bit of a surprise. Mind you I did practically live there!

I never called them, I don't call. I emailed and had great service from emmet. Obviously I haven't contacted for a while and when it comes to strings, I have never ordered any from there, it would work out too expensive..

Helix Floor/LT/HX/Stomp/PodGo owners' Club - Tips, Ideas & Patches
Woodinblack replied to Al Krow's topic in Effects
You can assign the expression pedal to something in a block, and that includes volume, so yes, you can use it as volume, but note that is on a per patch basis, so if you want to make it volume in all your patches, you need to assign it in all those patches (and obviously then stops if you bypass). -
Well, they didn't do that when I last went to a gig....

Probably all true. On the other hand, bristol has a new scheme where they charge double for on street parking now to encourage you to use the bus. And with that also, it has scaled back bus services as noone is using them, and they have a bus strike. Its the carrot and the stick approach, except they are all out of carrots -
Oh yes, Shaller - one of my tuners broke its head, they sent me 5 replacements.

Both Bristol and Bath fund all council services by motoring charges I got a £35 fine in bath for passing through a 'busses only until 18:00' lane at 17:58, following 3 other cars. -
As a kid I used to walk there at least once a week, and when I started working I used to go there regularly to buy a new boss pedal - wish I had them all now, would be worth a fortune! Bought many things there, including my westone, my first 'proper' guitar. and a roland electric piano, and almost a gibson the paul, which I always regretted not being able to get, and have recently corrected the lack of! My amps were all second hand from either Courtney and walkers or the little shop in New Road.

Loved it on my darkfire, worked really well, miss the darkfire, so at least one more person. It obviously shouldn't have been put on all the models as obviously guitarists are even worse than bassists for not trusting anything made within a decade of wwii, but it was good where it was. As to companies, Ashdown, Wunjo, Stick Enterprises, Smooth hound, Shuker have all given me great service.

Before the were renamed Nevada, Telecoms were good too!

Sounds sort of ok to me, and close enough. However, I don't have the option, I physically do not have the space for a double bass, so even if I wanted one I couldn't have one, so this will be as close as it gets!

Ok, so I look, I get the 'choice' of french or german and the sizes are listed as 1/4 1/2 3/4 etc - is that really a size? I am guessing not 1/4 of the length! And I guess you have no way of working out what you need until you have spent money on something you dont

Oh I don't know, send them a rant with an angry 'why did this only last 36 years??' message and maybe they will send you a new one

So I have joined the group with my new NS Wav5. Been playing it tonight, and enjoying it (apart from I can't do too much as I sliced my finger open yesterday). So what are good starting learning resources? Videos etc? Great things to learn etc? Mostly playing with the fingers but I willl try the bow stuff. i have a bow, it came with a chinese violin that cost about £20 10 years ago, so not great, but until I know what i need, it will do!

The alpha juno 2 I think is most notible for the rave scene, which is one of its presets.
-
That one is almost certainly a DX7 - different from the bananarama one.
-
Yep, that is what I read. The alpha Juno 2 came out at the time they were recording that, so presumably it is one of its presets.
-
Seems you forgot to attach the recording to your post! The internet says alpha juno 2. So I would say most pop songs produced in 85-87?

Minor change, same problems, again, call them if you see problems!

Makes sense - i keep buying 4 string basses and selling them shortly afterwards, just seems like something is missing!

Well, there was a NS NXL 4 at the bass bash that I went to last week, and they truly are a thing of beauty. I am not particularly interested in actual double basses, even if there was any possibility I had space for one of those in my house. So now I am quite keen on getting one. There aren't that many second hand ones around at the moment, apart from the more expensive CR types (and from places where VAT is required), but I could stretch to a new Wav4 or Wav5. I never really thought about the idea of a 5 string db, but having seen them and what with the fact I only play 5 string basses, I thought that might be a good idea. Obviously if I get second hand I am restricted to what is around, but buying new there isn't that much of a price difference between them. Has anyone thought about the difference between 4 and 5 string in a double bass?

I think the problem there was there was too much to see in too little time! -

Very much agreed, it is their business, and they seem to be doing fine, big fish in a small pond and all that, and they are a valuable resource to have, but it is their choice how they run it.
-
Depends on the 95%. If I am in the 95% then I am happy, if I am in the 5% then obviously they don't want my trade and I go somewhere else. My wife runs and online shop, I know timewasters, who generate a large amount of the traffic, so it isn't a linear 95% of traffic you deal with, if you feel that something is not going to pan out (you could be wrong obviously). Not saying there is, but it doesn't bode well and there is an element of "If they don't care before I give them money, they sure aren't going to care once they have it"
-
Thats fine, they don't want my business, and that is their choice. If they can't handle the email contact level, probably best they remove that as an official contact method from their site.
