Reluctantly selling my Jazz as it tends to spend a lot of its time unused at home now. I've owned it for about 3 years now and it was my number one for a long time, only been gigged a couple of times and is in great all round condition apart from very minor buckle rash. I believe it is a 2004 but looked up the serial number and can't get an exact date on it. It has the stacked volume/tone controls which you can get a huge range of sounds from. Currently strung with a set of Rotosounds which haven't really been played on a great deal. Its a typical Jazz really, great sounding and nice to play and i'll be sad to see it go. I do have a hardcase which isn't the original and a little tatty but I have always found it does a great job of protecting it. Buyer collecting preferred but happy for you to arrange a courier if that suits you better. I am based near Leicester. Sorry no trades i've already made a purchase so this is to fund that. Any more pics wanted please let me know

Bought a stunning bass off of Andy at the weekend, very easy to communicate with through here and phone. Andy and his son even delivered it to me, I couldn't be thankful enough. Real great guy and a pleasure to deal with, wouldn't hesitate in doing business again with him. Cheers mate

Thanks ezbass, I run the sb2 vol at about 80% and its still way more powerful than my jazz. Wouldn't want to turn down much more as to fear of losing the tone. Can I bring the level of my jazz up to a similar level of my sb with a Bassbone or is it a case of bringing the sb output down to my jb level?

A lot cheaper than over 200 quid for a Bassbone so could be a good option, will look into it cheers

Hey all I'm after a bit of advice which I know nothing about as I've never been one for effects. I have two basses at the minute with a third as a spare for two tunings, an SB2 and a Jazz bass. I mostly use the SB2 but a couple of our songs require an e flat tuning for which I use my jazz bass. Now the problem is as soon as I swap the basses the difference in output is a mile apart and I was looking for a pedal that could bring my jazz up to near the same output as my sb2. I've read up and so far have come across the radial bassbone but was just wondering if there is anything else more suitable? Cheers in advance.

Cheers Bob, look forward to seeing you guys play again. Thoroughly love my SB2.

Did a deal with Handwired on a 89 G&L SB2. Really convenient that his band Detonators were playing 20 mins from my house, met up, he demoed the bass through his rig, we made a deal, had a few beers and watched his band. A great guy, really helpful and an awesome bassist to boot. We all had a great night and look forward to seeing you again.
Why a 4x10? Like Chris says, a good 2x12 is a better option, though I'm not sure if Trace do a 2x12. But then, why Trace?
No reason really apart from the good stuff I've heard about them, my mate plays a 4x10 Hartke and it sounds great. Trace because I wanted to keep it the same brand as my head. Will look at the other options thanks.

Huge thanks to Mark for the sale of his Trace Elliot head. Extremely efficient and well organised for pickup and all my questions were well explained very well. Highly recommended to deal with and top guy to boot. Pleasure meeting you Mark, cheers.

Thats ok then, didn't know if it made a difference to sound. I'm after a Trace cab and every 4x10 I have found is 8ohm so far.
Don't be misled into believing that adding a 1x15 to a 4x10 is a good idea or will add any bottom end. Find a cab that you like the sound of & if you need more volume, get an identical cab. If there's a 4Ω & an 8Ω version of a cab, go for the 8Ω unless you plan to never add another cab or plan on getting a 2Ω amp. The volume difference between the 2 would not be noticed & watts don't determine decibels, speakers do that.
An 8ohm 4x10 then for the best all round sound?

Gain, power and volume - a confusing ménage à trois...
You cannot damage a cab or amp by under powering either and you will only run the risk of getting a less than perfect sound and causing damage if you are running either flat out. Makes sense, so I could hook up a cab if its rated at 800w to my 350w? Cheers The amp will see the speakers evenly. 2 8 ohm cabs will look like 1 4 ohm cab to the amp and it will send the same signal to both. If you are running an amp flat out, IMO you need a more powerful amp. I usually run my amps between 11 o'clock and 12 o'clock on both volume controls and I aim to have more rated watts in the cabs than the amp.
-
Not necessarily more power but just the option of adding say a 1x15 in at a later date just to give a bit more bottom end should I want it. Just didn't want to buy one 4ohm then want to add at a later date.
If the amp only has one speaker output and you get an 8 ohm cab with the intention to add another 8 ohm cab you'll need to daisy chain the cabs. Make sure the cabs have 2 speakers sockets in them. If you are getting a 410 then I'd just get a 4 ohm cab. If you need any more than 350 watts into a 410 you’re looking a more powerful amp, IMO.
Ωs wise, that's what I'd do (& I do do too). Your amp will put out up to 350 watts at 4Ω or @ 200 at 8Ω. As for the cab, it depends. Try it. If you don't like it, you can always sell it on.
Good call, and thanks that makes sense.
